Does JKR hve the same plan for Hermione in HP, as Topanga on boy meets world, bushy haired know it all, best friend since little kids? Two boys, but always end up with main character? Maybe hope that thingas alway end up like that? I pray that JKR is thinking towards that!

I've heard that theory before and I think it's cute. I don't know if the UK even gets Boy Meets World, but it would still be a great coincidence if they don't.

Oh I never thought of that! BTW it's so wierd Boy Meets World is on t.v. right this second! Coincidence? I think not.

I can see a few parallels, but when they were young Cory acted more like Ron.. so that's a little bleh (actually that's very bleh.. sorry I brought it up) Of course, Hermione would have to tame her hair like Topanga towards the end of the series.

I do think that Cory is more like Harry though, I mean Harry is the reason Ron and Hermione became friends, Cory is the reason Sean/Shawn (not sure) is friends with Topanga.

I mean, Topanga had bushy hair but it got tamer, and so did Hermione's. And it took a while before Cory discovered his true feelings for Topanga, and it will probably take a while for Harry to discover his feelings for Hermione.

This also seems like Loise and Tony from Even Stevens...
I mean, they started out as not friends, then they became friends...

And the whole debating thing with Cory and Topanga in the one episode (I think they were in 6th or 7th grade) And Topanga expressed her own opinion on why she didn't want to do the song thingy for America. And that sounds like Hermione from the fifth book where she expressed her own opinion on the one dude...and Umbridge was like "Well your opinion aint important" and so on.

We do get Boy Meets World on...er...what was it....it used to be on Channel Four and ITV but then it was only on the Disney Channel for cable or satalite viewers....good times it was when watching it on a Sunday morning!

That's so funny! I just saw an epi the other night on Disney and I was thinking the very same thing.

BMW character's seem to parallel the HP character's to a T, don't they? Hmm, I wonder....

LOL! Boy Meets World was just on, and they were a bit older in this episode, and Cory and Shawn got into a fight, and Topanga asked Mr Feenie to bring them to his office and stuff, and then Shawn had a flash back and stuff and they were little kids and then Shawn rescued Cory from a Lama cage or somethin and they hugged and became friends, and then Little Topanga is like "Stop it, your boys," and then it was present time and they were hugging, and she's like "Stop it, your boys," and then they made up and then Topanga said something about her going to some other collage and stuff, and Mr Feenie was like "Sit down," and they did and Cory was like "Well it all started when she was nagging me-" and Topanga slapped him on the leg and was like "I Don't Nag!" in an offended tone and I was laughing my head off....

Topanga is sooooooo much like Hermione though...

Perhaps, but (perhaps fortunately) the analogy is only superficial. Sure, they share certain traits, but Harry, Hermione, and Ron are far more mature in some ways than Cory, Topanga and Shawn ever were. I try to imagine Cory having to deal with something like Voldemort... maybe it's because it's a disney show ... but my brain sort of stops and declares the whole thing invalid.
But ignoring that... what's Minkis' (sp?) HP equivilent?

hmmmmm... Boy meets World is an American TV show (so it's unsure to most of us if its in the UK to begin with) Thats about a boy who copes with everyday life and things that happen to it in a strange stupid but entertaining way with his best friends Shawn and (at the begining of the series Shawn and Cory don't really like her much) Topanga.
Has anyone noticed that too? It took a while for Shawn and Cory to get with Topanga but when they do it's like ::mexican accent used:: "Dude man, we can't get apart yo, it's like we're superglued to each other." Or sumpin to that extent...
And the whole thing about Topanga just being a smart, slightly off, but good friend changed after a kiss that SHE gave. MaKeS YoU ThInK DoN't It? heheheheheheheheh... ^__________________^

The Matrix -- Do Neo & Trinity remind you of H/H?

Hey guys...

Does anybody here have already watched the Matrix:Reloaded? The plot is almost-similar to HP, Neo being the one, like Harry being the one who is gonna save the entire world? also the same to Neo, but he's gonna save the people trapped in the Matrix and find a way to get rid of those sentinels. ^-^

Anyways...my point is, I noticed he is the prophecy like Harry, having the same prophecy saving the world from evil etc...and Neo only has one lady there, Trinity.(In HP, I hope it's Hermione!)
Neo also has this saving-people-thingy like Hermione had said to Harry. And the enemy who is not an agent anymore(I forgot his name) was killed by Neo, and now he's back and mad at Neo because he killed him but thanked him because he is now free(but he doesn't have any Death Eaters..^-^) Maybe it is similar...I just forgot what else could be similar with The Matrix and Harry Potter...maybe you guys just could post one.

"Two Weeks Notice" movie is like that of H/H

i watched it on video yesterday, sandra's character is very much a like with hermione's.
my favorite is at the last part of the movie where hugh was trying to tell sandra about his speech. i'll try to quote it ok.
(hugh was telling her how irritating she can be and how beautiful she also is. like a paper, a little rough along the edges but if you look closely you will see how beautiful it is.)
H: "you have become the voice in my head. and i cant seem to 'shake'(i'm not sure if it's the exact word he used) you off my mind. i don't want to 'shake' you off my mind."

Hehe Two Weeks Notice is kind of like H/Hr. Hugh Grant is the famous, rich guy who always asks for advice from Sandra Bullock, the smart, usually plays it safe, always takes a stand for what you believe in girl (S.P.E.W. and the buildings saving by Sandra Bullock are similar). But Hugh Grant realizes that he wants her around and likes her just when he thought he lost her. Aw, very cute!

I was actually tinking the same thing while watching that movie! (Which I love by the way) A while back I was considering writing a fanfic based on that movie, whith it's own Harry Potter twist of course, but who knows, maybe I will... one day or another.

Hermione is so much like the character Sandra Bullock plays; headstrong, determined, and intelligent. The likelinesses (is that a word?) are uncanny! Although, I don't really think Hugh Grant's character is like Harry. Famous yes, but I think Harry is much more dependent upon himself than on anyone else.

The romance the two in the movie shared reminded me quite a bit of Harry and Hermione, I don't know, it just screamed pumpkin pie!

Ooh ooh! I have another one! Okay, first of all, has anyone here seen Lagaan - the Indian movie that got nominated for an Oscar last year (and didn't win . . .)? Anyway, the hero, Bhuvan, is a lot like Harry - he stands up for what he believes in, doesn't back out of a fight, oh yeah, and he saves his village from having to pay taxes to the British (no offense to the Brits!) for 3 years, much like Harry saves the wizarding world from total mass destruction. And the heroine, Gauri - well, her personality's much like Hermione's - she cares for Bhuvan a lot, brings him food (*grins*) and overall is concerned about him - this especially shows at the end of the movie. But of course, Gauri hasn't that zeal for learning - rather, a zeal for something else - love is my guess. Anyway, Gauri and Bhuvan are best friends - childhood best friends (okay, so Hermione isn't exactly a childhood friend, but 11 counts a little, doesn't it??? Especially with Harry's childhood and all ) who fall in love and later on get married. And get this: Gauri liked Bhuvan first. It doesn't have any significant meaning probably, but hey, this is Indian romance for you *cough* Not making fun of my culture. Nope, not in the least. And I'm going to blame innermurk's essay(s) for convincing me that Hermione does indeed like Harry - and there's very good proof/evidence of that, too. Okay, sorry, going Shutting up now

Harry and Hermione reminds me of Emma and Mr. Knightley. After reading the book Emma you can really see the similarities between the couple.

Yes!Everyone who said the BMW and LM relationns compaired to the Harry/Hermione I totally agree with! And also my friend,who likes HP(but not as much as me) when she slept over the other day we watched SS and when Hermione was was telling Harry he was a great wizard............she said "This is where they start liking eachother in the movies." and I was like your totally right girl!"
