In America, if you go to a public school, before school starts everyone stands and says the Pledge of Allegiance. It goe something like this:
I pledge Allegiance to the Flag
Of the United States of America
And to the Republic, for which it stands
One Nation, Under God, Indivisble
With Liberty and Justice for all.Well, one day I was bored and changed the words so it fit PK...I thought I would share it with you all!

Though I'm not sure if it makes all that much sense...
I pledge Alligance to Portkey
Of World Wide Shipping
And to Nappa, Heaven and James too
Four Ships, That we Disclaim
With Forums and Topics for allChammy, who is hoping that this is allowed.

I rarely say the pledge anymore anyway. Most of my teachers don't enforce it.

It gets kind of old after 8 years...9 if you count pre school. Though..it's probably the
only thing that I will remember by heart, that I learned from school

Mwahaha Chammy, it's hillarious.
We don't have to say the Pledge here, as I'm not in the U.S.

, but I know it by heart, strangely, and I find Chammy's one rather hillarious.

hehe i should try saying that on monday, as my teachers get rather annoyed if my mouth isnt moving during the pledge, though i'm usually not saying the pledge anyways, but rather telling my friends what embarring thing i had just done(i tend to get into a lot of embarrassing situations)

if we did a portkey anthem what tune would we do it to? as it sounds quite fun to make up one but is there a simple tune that everyone here knows (wouldn't want to leave anyone wondering how to sing it!)otherwise i'm all for having some fun with it!lol

*Squee* I'm so glad everyone likes my Pledge! And as for an Anthem...hmm...I don't think there is a tune that everyone knows!

Hmm...*Ponders this matter*
The basball tune (
Take me out to the ball game, take me out the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks, I don't care if they never come back, coz its Root, Root, Root for the home team! I don't care, what a shame!(Haha, not sure on this part) Coz its One, Two, Three strikes your out of the old ball game!). Or the Hockey tune...(
We will, we will, rock you! We will, We will, rock you down, shake you up, like a volcano will erupt, flush you down the toilet, hope you enjoy it
)
Hmm...lol, I'm just throwin idea out there!

Ok, couple of things - if this thread amounts to just people saying the same lines over and over, it will be closed. Why not come up with your own 'pledges' for everyone to look at? Just an idea

Also, erm, did you know that "disclaim" means
to deny or renounce any claim to or connection with?
Szaranea
Apr 1 2004, 11:31 AM
My own pledge? Okay, here goes:
You ask me why
I'm just a peeky guy
I'm peeky noon and night,
PK, that's a fright
I'm peeky high and low
you ask me why?
Don't know!
It's not the lack of real-life
like the couch potato that I'd be without PK
Whoever can guess where I 'copied' that one from gets a hug!

Apparently somebody got it wrong, and she just explained the term. And I took that from Hair. I had a hippie-day yesterday
I can't think of anything new right now, and will just wait until somebody else comes up with their own pledge.

I pledge Allegiance
To Portkey
To Live up to it's wackiness and blechness
To it's silliness and it's very weird MODS
And to all the psycho shipmates
To Draco and Ginny
Who made my nights really silly
To Harry and Hermione
Who gives me a good debate
To Ron and Luna
For good laughs and silly ramblings
And to Lily and James
Who kept me screaming 'LEAVE HIM ALONE!'
To the world wide shippings
Gives me a 'home far away from home' effects
And to all my lovely friends
SO help me God...
Hehehe, isn't silly?

Just to add my two cents on a thread that has remained untouched for a VERY long time... hehehe, well you wanted an anthem and I've messed with the Australian Anthem a bit for your viewing pleasure, and of course anyone who knows the tune can sing along (though 99% of Australians barely know it so I doubt anyone outside of Australia would)
Original
Australians all let us rejoice
For we are young and free
With golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in natures gifts
Of beauty rich and rare
In history’s page let every stage
Advance Australia fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia fair
Harmony version
Pumpkin Piers all let us rejoice
For we ship Delusionally
With great essays and amazing art
We dodge anvil successfully
Our sites abound in fan fiction
Of creativity rich and rare
In the shipping wars let every cause
Advance Harmony fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Harmony fair
Tehehehe ~ well if anyone see's this let me know what you think...

When I was in school in the 1960s in Dekalb County, Georgia, USA where I grew up saying the pledge was mandatory, but I always refused to say the "under god" part because I've been an atheist since I was about 10. that got me in a fair amount of trouble until they finally gave up and never had me lead the class.
