Hi, Bec, Karen, and Anto,
Global Mods are cleaning up the forums. So expect to see plenty of old H/H R/R threads stored in here. We will lock them up, but we thought we'd keep them for historical purposes.

OK Pen, not a problem...it looks a bit empty here anyway!

We'll keep them locked up until we finish TTW, and then we might open them up again...not sure yet though.

I'm planning on merging these old threads all together. But I'll do that sometime later. We have to be careful not to mess up the sequence of posting dates.

OK.
Thats fine.
Feel free to do what ever you want to do.
You're right about being careful not to mess up the sequence of posts.

OK Pen, Bec told me. I don't know why I'm writing this but I think I have to say thank you for telling us. So yeah, thanks.

You're welcome. If any of you want to merge those threads yourselves, PM me so I can give you the link to the Mod Manual. We've got a Mods' Manual of Tips in the Global Mods forum. You guys might want to read them, too. I can copy the thread for you but I'd like to hide the copy somewhere. (Not that there's anything incriminating in there.)

I'm very busy with other forums now, so these old RR threads aren't my priority. If any of you see inappropriate content there, feel free to edit as you see fit. I moved them here primarily to give this forum a sense of history. Perhaps R/R readers & writers can get ideas from them, too.

Yes, could you PM either me or Anto (As we're on) with the Manual? Who ever gets it can forward it to the other Mods.
I think I need to read it as I'm a crappy Mod.

Well if you let us know how to merge, we can handle the RR's for you.

Actually, the "Modly Manual" is a thread in the hidden (Global) Mods Forum. We started it only weeks ago. Any Global Mod can share their tips and experiences there. Let me clean it up a bit, and I'll PM you the link to a copy later this weekend. The posts range from broad tips like "Take pre-emptive action", to specific ones like those for Merging Threads.

OK Pen, can you PM Anto then?
I won't be on this weekend, he can forward it to me.
If you don't mind that is Figo.

Yes, it's fine for me. I look forward to reading this manual. It seems really interesting, and I help it will give us a good amount of helpful tips for Modding this. hehe.
I'll promptly forward it to you Bec, as soon as I have it.

Hi again, Anto, Bec & Karen,
I copied the original TTW Scratch Board thread. It's somewhere below this one. You can try simply deleting "non-story posts"**. That means you retain those posts that do contain the story. Then merge those remaining posts with the Easy Read thread.
The result would look like
this one. Since you're retaining exact copies of the original story posts, most of the story contributors should get enough credit.
If you're not too keen on that idea, then simply delete that thread copy. No offense meant or taken, as usual.
You'll find the Copy Topic menu in the Mod CP link.
**posts that do not contain parts of the story.

Pen, a question. Can I make a topic just to test those tips from the manual? It would be for the experimenting only, and I would delete it later on...so can I? Since the Mods (normal ones) can go to the Testing Forum, and we cannot so can I just do this?

Sure. We encourage experimenting with all the Mod Commands. I do that all the time. If you want, I can make copies of threads for you to test. Then you can do anything you want with the threads.

I can copy threads too. I'll copy one of those extra RRs and experiment on those.
Thank you Pen.
EDIT: In our powers, Pen, there is the COPY THIS TOPIC thing that copies the thing you've selected, but I can't seem to make it work so yeah could you copy one or two topics to experiment with?

Done. They're somewhere below this one.
If you've got any questions about Mod commands or the Manual, just post them here. That way, your R/R co-mods can see them. Hopefully, they'll learn from them, and share their inputs too.
We're gradually adding to that Manual, anyway. Like attaching and editing polls, etc.

Thank you Pen. I found them.
I have come to believe that you Mods merge threads using a MERGE thing from the drop-down menu, and then poof and those threads are merged, the posts falling in chronological order.
I tried doing it, and it worked! Yay to me and my Modly Limited Powers!
EDIT: Ops. Ops. Er...I wanted to copy it and pressed Round Robin but it went into the L/J RR. Lol. Stupid me. Could you set ir right when you come back?
EDIT2: I PMed Nytia, who is the Mod online at the moment asking her to sort it out.
EDIT3: Nytia sorted it out, sorry for the disruption.

Anto, a co-Mod gave you a warning for posting a vulgar message. I don't believe you could post something like that. Someone could have stolen your password.
EDIT: Ok, I see you can't post right now. Anyway, Bec, I PM'd you about this. Can you reply asap? Thanks. I'll sort this out after your response.

I've replied to you Pen. And I aggree with you too there's no way Figo could have posted that.
I'll talk to you tonight Figo, OK?
Anyway, thanks for the Manual Pen. We really appreciate it.

~Bec....a confused Mod.

Everything's ok now. Anto can post again, without prior Mod screenings of his messages. That Mod action was a necessary precaution. I"ve explained it to Anto by PM. I've also made the appropriate notes on his log.

And thanks for the feedback re the Mod Manual.

It's far from complete, but we'll slowly add on to it.

Oh, good.
OK, now I've attempted to test my merging powers, but I don't think it worked.....I don't know what I did wrong...do the two topics need to be open before merging?
Please help me out. Thanks.

Hi Bec,
They don't need to be open for my CP. I'm not sure about your CP, though. Can you PM me the links to the 2 threads you were merging?
EDIT:
Bec, sorry, I have to go offline now. But I'm sure the other Mods --like Nitya, Quis, thereader, tistytosty, et al -- would be glad to help you.

Beckers: when I did merge them, I had not opened them, so I don't think you would need to. Choose the thread then go into it and then click on from the drop down menu, MERGE TOPICS. And then it tells you to choose target and all. Put the URL and then poof your threads are together.
