Hi everybody!
That's it -- our jury finally came up with five nominations for each category. We do realize it's taken some time, and we appreciate your patience. You have all been very understanding, even though it must've been hard to wait for the final outcome.
Now the polls are open, and we invite all PK'ers to vote for their favorite poem in each category. The polls will stay open for a month, that is until March 10th, and the winners will be announced immediately after voting is over.
The jury, consisting of
innermurk, romulus lupin, Mrs. Pepper, and myself, have come up with the nominations following a set of guidelines, which include aptness of title, impact, imagery, suitabilty, meaning, basic theme or message, continuity, and technical detail. Judging on these criteria, each judge has come up with an overall rating for each entry, and the nominations are those in each category that had the highest average rating. For a couple of categories, we received less than five eligible submissions; here all submissions have been nominated.
If you have any comments or suggestions as to the running of this event, please feel free to post in the
dedicated thread. We appreciate all input and constructive criticism that'll serve to make the poetry contest a continual, unique Portkey tradition.
Thank you for staying with us and supporting us.
