I've always loved the way your smile brightens my day,
The way your laugh makes it all worthwhile.
The way my feelings go berserk as soon as you enter the room.
You’re my soul mate,
My better half,

About that swing in your step,
That flick of your hair,
That twinkle in your eye.

In your touch,
In your words,

The gentle breeze sways the ocean waves,

As they splash upon the sun bathing rocks,

Laughing and sending sprinkles of water in all directions



My feet slowly touch the damp sand,

As I walk into the shallow, shimmering water

I close my eyes,

Feeling the ocean air softly whispering around my ears,

Feeling the water swimming around my ankles,

Enjoying the summery tint in the sky



A sudden splash breaks the serenity

I slowly turn around to see your smiling face.

Your hand is waving towards my direction,

Your rolled up pants, slightly wet from playing in the sea’s waves

Your untidy hair, swaying with the wind

I see your laughing crescent eyes, twinkling in the morning sun

I hear your refreshing laughter

Ringing along with the calmness of the ocean waves



My legs run to you,

Tears streaming down my cheeks

I long to be with you, to have me in your embrace.

You still give me your warm smile as I reach closer

We stand only a few inches apart

My fingers tremble as they reach out to touch your soft face…

I feel nothing as they go right through

They slowly draw back to feel my own cheeks,

To rub away the salty tears that are continuing to fall.



My mouth calls out your name

But you just smile and walk back into the skies,

Your eyes always on me, shining, laughing eyes

You give me a small wave with your slender fingers

Before slowly fading away with a smile



The clouds leisurely move across the heavens,

Glowing as they pass the shining rays of the fiery sun

And the oceans splash across the sun bathing rocks,

Sending my sorrowful tears in all directions
