MOD NOTE: Merged with Loosing Interest? --Faith, 8/31
There has been a distinct downsize in activity in our beautiful D/G forum lately.
I was wondering what's up?
Is everyone D/G'ed out, or has everything been discussed already?
I hardly think it's the latter.

Well for me it is the loss of intrest; I never was a hardcore poster or visitor but I have turned towards various other intrests and HP doesn't intrest me as much it did an year ago.
I's agree I must say.
I's agree....?Yeah, my interest rather waned. I still write fanfiction now and then when I get a burst of creativity but most of my interest and time is wrapped up in real life now. Though I still love falling into other stories when I have time off and even trying to write new chapters for my fics.
I dno, having a job and university work is difficult enough while trying to maintain a social life. I don't even go clubbing anymore due to lack of time

*sighs* but it's Christmas...after my last exam Friday I'll probably start feeling more creative and more chatty.

For months I'd lurk from time to time and I posted once or twice in the first RR. I got more interest in posting when the second RR came about and really got into it. Now I check here everyday but no one's posting. I would post in the other forums, but since I've never been a part of them I can't just jump right it without reading the entire thread first, which I don't really have time for.
High school keeps me very busy, but I'm definitely still very into D/G. Haven't lost interest at all. If, like someone said, there was a new thread started up, I've post in it more and keep up with it and such.
Which reminds me - someone go post in the RR! Click on over there right now!

You know Tari, I used to think this was the case as well. But it's really not. I am yet to meet a non-friendly PK mate, and most will greet you with open arms. Jumping into a thread is nothing out of the ordinary in other threads. Especially the Off Topic thread, which is no completly random that no one cares who is a frequent poster or not.

Ho, hum. I check in everyday, to see what's going on, but my life and schedule seem to have gotten a smidge crowded. When there's something that pricks my interest, and if I have time, I'll post in it. I've been meaning to post in the new RR but I always catch it at a bad time, like when my mother is kicking me off to play FreeCell.
But I am here, just lurking a bit. I'm also far too active in the super-top-secret DLA forum. However, even
that field of posting has taken a blow from my business.

Meh, things usually slow down during the school years. And the D/G section never has been as popular as H/Hr (to give you and idea, we have 727 H/Hr fics and only 256 D/G ones.).
I wouldn't worry about there being fewer posts. It just means there aren't quite as many of you/us (since I'm a D/Ger, kinda too).

Well 7th years would be 17, unless they had their birthday before school was out. Because Harry's birthday is in the summer, and his is after everyone else's.. if they go by the same age rules that we do... he wont turn 18 until after he has graduated Hogwarts but other students may.
And this forum is about fictional characters, hence Draco and Ginny. If you want to talk about Tom Felton, it probably belongs in either Movie Discussion or Off Topic.

Just finding more places to post in the D/G forum...
We need some new threads in here, the old ones are all outdated and over-argued.
Even if we just started some over, kind of, that might get conversation started again.
But the whole Loss of Interest thing is still getting me down.
Thankfully the RR is still going full force though!

I recently got sidetracked by H/Hr, reading only those for a while and giving Draco and Ginny a little alone time *wiggles eyebrows suggestively*. Then I read an H/Hr fic with a teeny bit of D/G background, and though it was only one scene with the Fire&Ice couple, it overshadowed every single H/Hr moment in that fic. They seriously just are the BEST couple ever!!
If your interest in Draco/Ginny wanes, and you don't feel like going through an entire different ship before crawling back to them, begging them to have a sweet moment so that you can go back to being a squealing happy fluffling , then I find the best way to get completey obsessed again is just to read an old favourite. Like something by Davesmom, for example (is that allowed in this thread?

). That or just have a look at "Innocent Revelations" by Tinki-chan in the Media Section. I swear if that doesn't work then there's no saving you.
As for new topics... anyone ever considered making a karaoke section? You know, take popular songs and change the words so they fit Draco and Ginny. Mostly humorous ones, I hope, but there are a heck of a lot of songs that would fit them in a beautiful serious version...

Well, we have a song thread, for songs that fit D/G.. but we don't have one like you described. You should start it up, it sounds fun.
And thanks for the ideas, but I don't think the problem here is loss of interest in the D/G ship itself... what we're addressing is the loss of interst in the D/G forum... it used to be so active and now hardly anyone posts here anymore.
But alas. Hopefully we can fix that problem.

I noticed the song thread, but what I have in mind is actually making up the lyrics to popular tunes. I wish I could start it, but I have absolutely zero talent when it comes to parodies (because that is basically what they are, kind of like some of Weird Al's Star Wars parodies...*starts humming Mr Anakin Guy*) or anything like that *sniffle*.

Tina (Sakura1287) and I were thinking about why the D/G forum just isn't as sucessful when it hit us- our Mods have been MIA for half a year! We were wondering where they've gotten to, and if they'll be back...
Because of such a long absense, we were wondering if you ever considered replacing them with mods who visited and posted more often.
Also, we were wondering as well about our private DLA forum. Because Daniela (Vanillapuf) is not always around when something needs moved or changed, and because there are only three of us and it's not fair she has to do all the modly work, we were hoping you'd consider making us mods of the forum.

Even Frozen Embers is down the pan, it makes me so sad to think that seven months ago when i joined PK this forum was a busy place full of people who where not brought down by anything, and i personally won't be happy until we are back up there, instead of in the slump we are in now.

Since I've been here, I have tried to stay active in the D/G forum. There are types of memebers of the D/G Forum.
1) The Reader: You Lurk around and only comment when you absolutly have to or rarely at all...
2) The Active Citizen: You comment and add to conversation...even when it's low in resources...
and
3) DieHard Fan: You COMMENT every 5 seconds and you are updated on EVERY thread because you only read D/G.

So... I'm just guessing that Reality has hit everyone and instead of being a 2 or 3... we've become 1's. Although, not fun...We do have to I guess...Live.
No New Topics is possibly a problem... Well, lets not be in denial... It is our problem. I think we've discussed everything to discuss until the new book comes out. We should be imaginitive...and Random. YES! Random!!! Make no sense at all... and discuss all we want to about the 2 characters! WHOO! Then Everyone will enter D/G and be enthrauled by our loyalty without reason! Or Maybe it's just me...
Anyway, I hope that the Ship isn't sinking... for that would bite the big one. It's just stalled. We need jumper cables and a new battery and we're set!
