OK, I don't know where this would go, but I was reading a topic (I think it was like 300 Reasons Why H/Hr is a Good Couple) and a reoccurring reason was that Harry notices that Hermione has a usual chair in CoS.

i can't remember which book but i know there's a scene that says...Harry sat beside Hermione's usual chair...i just can't remember which book...i think it was GoF
I'm pretty sure I remember it saying that she had a usual chair. I think it's in GoF too, but I can't remember exactly where either. So useful aren't I?
It was in COS, not GOF when Hermione was petrified that Ginny was sitting in Hermione's usual chair.
This is another thing I like about Portkey. People here do great analysis of canon H/H clues!

Yep, for those too lazy to follow Pen's link, here's what I said in that post:
CoS, Chapter 15, Aragog, pg 201, UK Paperback:
"Fred and George challenged Harry and Ron to a few games of Exploding Snap and Ginny sat watching them, very subdued in Hermione's usual chair."
This is one of my favourite moments.
1) Hermione HAS a usual chair.
2) Harry KNOWS Hermione has a usual chair.
3) Ginny is sitting in it and Harry NOTICED.
4) At this point Hermione has been petrified and Harry and Ron are waiting for the room to clear so they can "follow the spiders". So Harry's got a lot on his mind at the moment and he still notices all this.
5) Subconsciously, Ginny cannot take Hermione's place in Harry's eyes. (this is purely my Shippy talking here
)
As I said, it's one of my favourite moments, as so much is said in just one simple sentence.
But if there's a scene in GoF where it's mentioned again, I'd love to hear about it.

Now I just feel stupid. Did it mention the usual chair in GoF too or anything? I though I remembered it in one of the more recent books...hmmm, maybe I read that post, but...whatever...
I definitely think it's very sweet for Harry to have noticed that Ginny was in Hermione's usual chair. It seemed that she was very comfortable in it

and to me there's a certain uncomfortableness about the fact that Ginny's there, especially while Hermione is petrified. It's kind of like Ginny just doesn't belong there.

it's from the Extra interview...so it's real...but kalie put the writing for me...but it's not what it seems...dan's actually looking down, n emma just turned around...also rupert is looking down as well

The fact alone that Hermione has a usual chair and Harry knows it is cute.
I might be a little biased, since Ginny is my favorite character, but I guess Harry was probably a little incensed that Ron's little sister was getting all cozy in Hermione's chair.
If the person *I* loved were petrified, I would not want to see someone else sitting in their chair.
