Spoiler Policy for 6th Potter Movie (HBP)

Now that the Half-Blood Prince movie's almost here, please keep in mind that some of us PK members / HH shippers do intend to watch it. Please observe the following courtesies for our sake:

GIST:

-- Head over to our two HP Movies section to freely discuss the HBP film and other HP movies. Spoilers do NOT need to be hidden in the sub-forums in there except for the Dan-Emma section.

-- If you must mention HBP movie spoilers outside that section, then please hide the spoilers and scrimp on details. After July 20 4:01 pm (16:01) GMT, HBP spoilers don't need to be hidden anywhere in PK, but it'd be nice if you could continue giving warnings. At all times, our "HP Movies" sections would be the primary place for talking about any Potter film.


Definition of "movie spoiler" = any detailed description of a movie scene that's different from the book. When in doubt, use the this spoiler code to hide details. This code's also linked in the "More FAQs" box down our forums' right margin.

• Generally if you want to talk about the 6th movie and others in the series, please do so in our HP Movies section. It's further divided into two:
  
  -- Shippy HP Movie Talk (for H/H shippers only!) and
  -- HP Movie Discussion for All HP Fans - regardless of shipping preferences
  
  HBP spoilers generally do NOT need to be hidden in the above areas. Movie spoilers may be discussed in there ANYTIME and may be as detailed as you want.
  
  
• If you must bring up HBP spoilers outside our "HP movies" sections, then please hide them. That way, other readers could avoid them if they so desire. We're thinking of scenarios such as members wanting to present ficlet challenges that include scenes borrowed from the 6th HP movie.
  
  Other rules for talking outside the HP Movies area:
  
  -- Mention movie 6 spoilers only in passing.
  
  -- Give spoiler warnings.
  
  -- Hide the spoilers by copying this code. <-- This is also linked in our forum's right margin, in the "More FAQs" box.
  
  -- Use the spoiler hide code until the times listed below. If you could continue hiding spoilers for a few months afterwards, so much the better.

  A: Sure, for as long as you do it in our Shippy HP movie talk - for H/H shippers or HP Movie Talk for all sections

To clarify, the general rule is that HBP movie spoilers may be discussed freely in our "HP Movies" sections here and here. If the threads in there don't say anything about hiding spoilers, then you can freely talk about them in there.

To date, there's only one movie thread that requires hiding spoilers. We've opened it for those who'd like to ask about a specific HBP movie scene but don't want to read other spoilers about the film. We've also put some non-spoilery shippy news on that thread, such as the "Harry and Hermione" theme music in HBP's soundtrack.
