Firstly, we hope everyone takes safety precautions with this H1N1 virus. We hesitated to announce Portkey news amid this serious health issue, but then we figured people come to PK to escape briefly from real world troubles, right? So here go with a heads up of PK developments:

Kate J has re-surfaced in PK!
It's been ages since we last heard from her, she who had written that classic H/H smutfic, Taste; who had made those Slightly Skewed Recaps of the first 2 1/2 Potter movies; who owns that fantastic site, HarryLovesHermione.com. If you've never heard of these works, then you can't say you've been deeply involved in in the H/H fandom.
We've heard from her again this week here. She'd also like to ask H/H shipmates for help in compiling good H/H fanvids here.- Gwendy the fanartist
TRIBUTE VIDEO:
Four years ago, GiantSquid shared with us her tribute video of Gwendy's fanart. That was before YouTube, therefore she had posted it in another site. Soon that site went defunct, rendering her video's URL broken for a long time. She recently found her original video file, prompting her to re-upload this video in YT and sharing its URL with PK-mates. We've inserted the YT link in her PK gallery entry. You're all welcome to leave comments (not flames) there, in YT or here about her vid.
GWENDY'S SITE Quills n Spills:
Speaking of Gwendy, her Quills n Spills site inexplicably went offline sometime around January. Luckily, we got it back online last month. Lemme tell ya, that was a close call!
Head over there now to give her site the respect it deserves!
For relative H/H fandom newbies' info, Gwen's art is extremely popular. If you've been active in H/H sites, chances are you've seen her work displayed as avatars, banners or wallpapers. You probably are using one of them yourself but didn't know she had drawn them. If you enter PK's ROR, you'd see quite a few of her work there displayed -- ie, as members' avatars, not as parts of the R or NC-17 topics in there!
She had done mostly H/H illustrations and a few Draco / Ginny, Ron / Luna, Bill / Fleur and ship-neutral art as well. Portkey's been hosting her site since 2003. - PORTKEY AWARDS like

If / when you do visit PK's forums, take a look at your forum posts. You might have some graphics displayed below your avatars. Click on them to find out what they're for. No, I'm not talking about the mods' hats. We had a similar feature in early '04.
Watch out for a project we've called the Portkey Spotlight, where we'd write about an HP fan particularly Portkey members. Maiden issue's 90% done.
We can't promise to do this at regular intervals, but we'd do our best.
