I've been an author on Portkey for nearly six months, but I've created my account now, to post and participate in PK, my true home and the haven for H/Hr lovers.
So about myself!! I'm from India and I became a HP fan when Book 2 released in 1998 ( I was living in US then ). Back then ( I was nine years old and living in Denver, CO ) I wasn't much of a reader. But I think sometime after CoS released, everyone in my school was carrying a copy of it wherever they went. It was like the "in" thing. So just to be part of the bandwagon, I begged my dad till he bought me SS and CoS. The rest as they say, is history...
After reading Book 3, I got the feeling that Harry and Hermione would look good together, a feeling which only intensified after reading Books 4 and 5. I will NOT talk about Book 6 though. So, I started reading fanfiction in the beginning of 2006 and I'm proud to say that the only R/Hr, H/G stories I've read are JKR's Book 6 and 7.
Even though I don't like what JKR did with her characters, I'm incredibly happy to call myself an HP fan and I'm glad JKR did all this in the first place, because without HP, my life would be much darker.
I have some truly AMAZING memories of the times I spent cherishing the release of the HP books. It's been really nostalgic all the way. The epilogue and the final ships left me disappointed to say the least, but I'm still happy that I was/am a part of this fantastic universe. I'm not a morning person at all and I struggle to wake up at 8 : 30 to go to uni every day. Book 7 was released at 12 : 01 am in the UK and in my time zone, that's 5 : 30 in the morning. I finally managed to fall asleep at 1 in the morning and I woke up on my own, without the grogginess at 3 : 17 am. I was shivering and there were goosebumps all over me. I'll never, ever forget the way I felt as I was walking clumsily down the road at 5 in the morning to the nearest bookstore to get something I had been waiting 9 years for. Call me sad, but I can really say that was the best moment of my life, and I'll probably remember it till the day I die.
I balance my academics with watching movies, fanfiction ( writing and reading), surfing, and going out with friends. I study electronics at a pretty good university and I love what I do ( mostly ). I don't like Physics in general ; Isaac Newton has given me many tough moments in my academic life and I often wished it was a boulder that fell on his head and not an apple...
As you probably figured out my interests are reading, surfing the net, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Not to mention sleeping and eating.
My fanfic author name is the same as the user name I have here, so if anyone's interested, go read my fics. And if anyone's noticed, I'm a big, big SW fan, sometimes I wonder whether I like it more than HP, LOTR... Darth Vader, in my opinion, is THE GREATEST, MOST POWERFUL CHARACTER EVER!

I hope to get to know a lot of you Pk'ers and participate in this lovely community and what you've just read is me in a nutshell...
