I've actually been reading an commenting on stories on PK for the last three of four years and now I've finally screwed up the courage to attempt writing my own fan-fiction. On a side note, I absolutely loved the original Vox Corporis by MissAnnThropic

I've done assorted writing based off of different books but I really prefer fantasy and sci-fi. I...ooo this makes me feel strange, I actually can't remember when I first started reading HP. It was in the year the first book came out...but that leaves a lot of time I think. I do really like the story though. Anyway, I prefer the pairing that are used here more than the ones Rowling ended up with, but that's personal opinion I'll admit. The first bit of work I'll be throwing up here (in the next few days) will be - 'originally' - a H/Hr flick that should be evolving into something more when the creative side of my brain restarts.

Regardless, it's great to be here and I hope I can learn from some of the best.

It's always amazing when you first make that decision to write fanfiction. Just curious, but what you made you decide to write yourself? I know for me I just got this idea and had to write it. Couple of years down the track and I'm still plodding along on some of the same fics that I started way back then.

To expand on what moogle said...I had been reading fanfic for ages before I randomly got an idea one night and churned out a couple chapters. And to this day I haven't finished that first fic. Good times. Good luck with yours!

Moogle, it was mainly that I had written other stuff based off of different books (nothing really big but still something) and I just decided to try my hand at this world of fanfiction. There is a small problem though. I am much more experienced with describing silent, wand-less magic.

So if that appears a lot in my first story then at least I've explained myself

Oh, what kind of fanfiction did you write before this? I've only tried my hand at two different fandoms. Final Fantasy (which didn't go so well) and Kingdom Hearts--which I never finished. I decided just to stick to Harry Potter after that.

I don't think people will mind that. You could always get a beta if you're really worried about it.

Lets see. I attempted a bit of Mercedes Lackey stuff based on Valdemar (that then went strange half way through and died) and I've stolen world bases off of the John Ringo Hymn Before Battle, Gust Front, etc. series uncountable times. I've also done bit of expansions off of Weber's Stars at War series.
