Outside of rallying the Tanith First and Only and fighting the foes of the Immortal Emperor, Harry Potter is my next favorite series.
I always will have a soft spot for Harry Potter.
1. Parents killed by a terrorist that an incompetent government failed to crush.
2. Bumbledore left him in an abusive house instead of following his parent's wishes, and left a toddler in an exposed position doing so.
3. Bumbledore hired Snape a man who by his own admission was trying to rape Lily and who went on to wreck the potion's education of many children at Hogwarts, thus doing more damage than any other Death Eater.
4. Bumbledore failed to demand a trial for Sirius Black under Veritaserum questioning and bungled the trials of several other Death Eaters.
5. Etc crimes of Bumbledore too numerous to list...

With all that in mind I am writing a fanfic at the moment in which on Harry's First Birthday the Cold War goes hot and Voldemort and Bumbledore are wiped out in the nuclear exchange.
Lily and James are then left to raise their son in a changed world without the threat of Voldemort.
Got the Prologue finished and I am now writing the First Chapter.
