To those who don't remember me, or didn't know me when I use to venture onto this forum and use "!!!" at the end of every sentence (okay, that was when I was 14), I am Kris. I used to love love love love DanRad and I was his Towel Girl (aka TG). But, er, well you see how DanRad looks now, and that's that.

I'll admit, I'm not into HP as much as I used to be, but PK holds a pretty special place in my heart, so when I heard about Pen being back, well I couldn't resist.

Yup. We've made a lot of friends here, and we can make more. The HP discussions will dwindle eventually -- I'm amazed they've lasted this long after the last book. Kudos to the PK mods and PK-ers who've worked to keep PK afloat!

But PK-ers can still have fun talking about non-HP stuff -- that's why we've expanded the former Off Topic section. Or sometimes, we'd be in the mood to talk about or read non-shippy stuff or shippy stuff, so it'd be great for PK-ers to do that without being mocked.

It's true; I probably wouldn't have returned to active mod team duty if I hadn't been chatting with Malinda in another site. You can credit --or blame-- her for that!

Though there's good timing (even a little divine providence) in there, too. If Malinda and I had been chatting, say, only a few weeks earlier; then I probably still wouldn't have returned 'cos I had little time for or interest in HP or PK then.

'Course you're a big deal! You and the other mods who've succeeded us and kept PK going.

The only reason I haven't included other mods like Christine/sbys, Justine and Shantari in the above timeline is because it was only a matter of time for them to return to PK; they didn't really need any prodding. 'Course, they're no less welcome than the others!

I wasn't around (or at least wasn't 'active' enough in the whole forums) for when all of you mods were real busy and active and all in the forums, but I just wanna say that seeing all your nostalgia in greeting each other again really puts a smile on my face.

I've been in many forums, and left and lost contact with people (and kept contact as well) and when you all see each other again on a forum it's like getting hit by a car (except without the pain, lol) so you remember quite suddenly all the ridiculous moments and fun you all had.

I imagine for all of you it is much the same, and while I can't exactly 'share' in your enthusiasm for it all, it's been nice to see the welcoming spirit you all share!

It seems to be a true fact though, that when the prominent people leave everything else seems to quieten down and sort of plod along slowly, but without the enthusiasm it used to. I'm glad you're all back!! (for however long that may be, or whichever you choose to do)

Crys, thanks for the transcript! I knew the ROR played a big part!

You two already know that you only need to tell me if you want to mod again -- for as long as I'm sitting as admin, that is. If you can't muster enough interest in HP or PK, I'll understand. Would really appreciate it if you help transition PK back to (relatively) troll-free status.

One other thing to consider that it's only natural for all HP sites to gradually fade away after the end of the books. It'll be unrealistic to gun for PK's peak levels in 2003-06 in terms of posting messages, stories and fanart/media. I'd say the mod team should be content with keeping the trolls in check, so that it'd be fun for PK-ers to see the threads, fics and fanmedia years from now. Some of us have been there, done that -- been away for years; then dug up some threads upon returning.

I was in a rush to reply before, so I didn't get to everybody's posts, but now that I am somewhat less hectic...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I still talk to a lot of people from PK, just not at PK anymore. Hehe, it's silly but PK is sort of like my roots on the internet. A lot of the people I met here have been my good friends since. Like Kris and Pen, Sandra, Tina, Daniela. So many! Haha.

Oh! Pen -- and everyone else, of course -- did you know Tina and Daniela and I met last summer?! We were all together! We followed Tina around during her Parselmouths seventh book tour and were her merch girls! We spent all of Sunday curled up on her couch reading the last book together, chapter by chapter! It was seriously one of the best times of my life! I'm pretty sure Tina's coming to see Equus with Danrad this fall too with me! It's gotten to the point where I think we feel more comfortable talking face to face now, ironically.

Sometimes it amazes me! Back in '04, Nielle was digging up some old Wonky threads to remove personal, stalker-fav info like names of RL family members. We were on YM then, so she told me she was looking for posts where you, Romy, mentioned your sis' name. I quickly replied, I think Romy posted something like, "I'm here in my dad's house with my sis and she says hi to all of you!" So when Nielle did find your post minutes later, she squeaked, "Dad's house"? Pen, you're scary!

And yes, I still remember the names of your sisters, Romy. Well, at least two of them. --n---- and -a------. Good thing I have very little stalker-ish tendencies, eh?
