I was wondering what people thought....I know I don't like any of those qualities in a Draco, but they seem rampant in these parts... What is your Draco pet peeve? Absolute love?

My problem with Draco is when he is the SEXGOD, or the guy that ALL the girls are after. if He's not like that, I like him. Ohh.. well he can't be sleeping with Mione either. *shudder*

I think there should have been a Too SEXY option too.

Actually I'm with NAPPA, he's way too much of a sex god, makes me want to gag. But since that's not one of the choices, (glare ), I'm going for my second choice of converting to the good side far too conveniantly. I've read far too many fics where Draco is a good guy from the onset with a decent explanation or a proper personality change.

I don't like sex-god!Draco either (he's handsome, yeah, but from that to having every girl in Hogwarts drooling over him is a bit extreme...), but don't you think it's better than having him suddenly as Harry and Ron's best friend or such a thing? At least if he were "devilishly sexy", he could gloat about it and be arrogant... and not have such a drastic personality change. Don't you think? Maybe it's just that you're men...

eric! i totally agree i hate all of a sudden i'm good guy draco. where he becomes incredibly Harry like (not that i have anything against harry, in fact i love him ) but then its just way to OOC. They need to explain it when they do it. I like my Draco to have his edge, be all sarcastic and flippant and what not

OF COURSE, Draco's a sex-god. I mean, come on guys...he's so hot. And plenty of girls would recognize and appreciate that, even if they wouldn't get involved with him because of his...shadier qualities. I think Draco would be (or at least pretend to be) super-confident with the ladies and basically get whoever he set his mind to. Very smooth and a little manipulative. He would always know the right thing to say to a girl to make her melt. But alas, as many guys who have gotten involved with me have found out, this doesn't work on all girls. Ginny would see through his games and know him for the sarcastic little git he is...and love him anyway. Hell, I do. And there wouldn't be an overnight switch, but I can see how he could've been wavering on the edge and not fully immersed in the Dark side yet too. I mean, he's not old enough to have been initiated as a DE yet, is he? Ginny could maybe give him a push in the right direction, but fics where Ginny pulls him out of the deepest despair and darkness in a matter of days really piss the hell out of me.

Yes, Draco is hot, and should turn a couple heads, and have complete confidence. The type of sex-god I'm personally talking about is when every girl in the school wants him, they basically faint if he looks at them, etc. I've read a couple like that, and it's way too exaggerated.

That's Cassandra Claire's Draco you're talking about, not canon!Draco. One of the first things you must remember about this site is that there is a mega huge distinction between fanon and canon, especially when it comes to Draco Malfoy!!!!!

Totally. It's incredibly important to keep everything straight, especially if you read a lot of fanfic or haven't read the books recently. I haven't read the books for awhile, and probably should, considering that.

There's actually not to much background on either Ginny or Draco in the books, which is why there's so much free reign in writing them. However, the lack of D or G content in canon also makes it easier to get them out of character.

Hmmm...I always see Draco as very sexy, but definitely not the nicest thing around. Even when he does "Fall" for Ginny I can't see him being all "I love you baby" etc..etc.. He might die for her - or kill for her , but say I love you and fall to one knee? Probably not.

But I love Draco. I like to think he won't always be the shallow one-dimensional git he is so far in canon. I don't like to see him completely reformed either, but I think some degree of redemption is possible. Even for a Malfoy.

My least Favorite tendency is when writers make him Hitler!Draco. I can't stand that for some reason.

Well, I haven't really read many D/G fics, but from what I have, I think it's the most unrealistic that Draco gets with Ginny and suddenly he "sees the light" and is good and ends up being friends with Harry and Ron and Hermione. Just because Draco's in love doesn't mean that his personality will change.

I pretty much agree with most of what's been said here. I'm still having a hard time liking the Draco character. I mean I practiclly worship Snape so I can't understand why I'm not taking to Draco yet. Bare with me here, just give me time. I was also VERY pleased to see that NOONE thinks he's too much of a git, that's the one quality I like about Draco, complete bastard most of the time. I think I can relate to it. As for 'Sex-God' Draco... it's pushing it. Personally, I'd like to see Sex God Neville.

I think SexGod!Draco is SEVERELY annoying... I even helped make a cannon Draco thread over at FA... it's titled OWLP (out with the leather pants)

Anyway, who came up with the whole idea that Draco wears leather pants and thus he is a sex god? I don't know who they were, but they're nutters. I swear no one is supposed to like an evil git like that unless they're a 'scarlet woman' or just plain old evil themself... girls like Hermione are not supposed to swoon over him.

but the thing that i chose was Ginny instantly saves him. This bugs me for two reasons...

1) If Draco is EVER saved, it would be by Snape who is already a spy for the good side, close to Draco, and cunning enough to do it.

2) I think Ginny is dark herself lol. So i can't figure out how she could be evil yet drag him to the light side. It doesn't make sence... (yeah I'm a big Corrupted!Ginny and Evil!Draco supporter.)

Awww, I feel like such a black sheep. I quite like the Sex-God persona. In most fanfiction it usually comes along with a cynical attitude and laid back attitude. heh....I agree with Bristar.

I know in my own fiction I find it hard to write Draco since Rowling writes him as such a slimy git and I desperately want some depth to his character. I usually resort to having a relationship between him and Ginny but him having conflicting emotions. I mean he's human right.

I think a really interesting story I've read is by Melinda Malfoy called The Dragon's Present and Meleth's The Price of Living. Melinda's has a canon Draco, well in my opinion but presenting a perfect situation for him to change. Meleth's was just bloody brilliant.

I like angst preferably mixed with some smut, but hey i'm only human *smirk*

Anyway, since i am such a succer for angst, I tend to avoid action and Romance fiction wich has some of the worst OCC'ness ever. But i still see it and it annoys me to pieces.

I like draco because he is a bastard. He lies cheats and steals. But with style, and as a redemptionista writer i let him and my darling Ginny be tourtured before the find and realixe true love. (I'm a romantic so sue me)

However I dont make him sprout poetry in the great hall, nor does he befriend Potter. I like my draco mean and snarky thank you very much and i intend to keep him that way. But that does not mean that i cant redeam him. Like sirius says: The world isnt divided in to Good People and DeathEaters. And i think that we can have Draco working for the order or helping Dumbledore without becoming a little whipped puppy.

That said i would like to Place an order for Sex-God-Draco. for my visa number and adress PM me.

Okay, I figured I'd chip in here. I don't mind whether Draco is a sex-god or not but I hate when he is too mushy because it is out of character. Does Lucius have feelings? No... so then why would he teach Draco to have feelings? I don't like when Draco falls instantly in love because as I read someone else saying, he is taught to hate the Weasleys. And I also don't like instantly converted to the good side.... other events and experiences had to contribute to his decision, so if those aren't addressed the story gets confusing.

Love at first sight is nonexistant and annoying when people who don't comprehend what it is about, write it. It's right up there with the bumping into each other and getting it on in the middle of the hallway kind of story.

SexGod!Draco is alright, as long as he has some depth further than that. Or perhaps if he hates the attention, and doesn't particulary enjoy being a hailed sex god.

Sex God Neville and Dudley struck me as funny. Show me a fic with them and I'll read it, to get a good laugh.

Me, I don't like it when Ginny converts him so fast into changing himself. Draco's been fashioned to be the stuck up, arrogant guy that he is. It won't all go away just because a girl walks into his life. It's far too unrealistic. On the subject of sexgod!Draco...yeah, it kind of gets annoying but if it isn't mentioned too much then we're fine right? Moderation is always good.

I think the lying Draco is pretty cool. Like he tricks Ginny into doing something and before she knows it she's stuck in something she never wanted to be part of. Those are nice.
