Shane and Molly from The L Word.

I dunno if by nature of relationship, as most relationships are pretty quick in that show, due to their 12-episode season nature. LOL'

Anyway, to me Shane is like the lost soul. I don't think Harry is as messed up as Shane is though. Shane lived in foster homes all through her childhood, and she learned to get by as she could, never knowing what love is.... aww.

As Shane grew up, she became like Casanova... I mean, wow~ Nothing like Harry at all, ha! But in Season5, she reveals that she's never been in love... or maybe she has, but she doesn't really know. Her words, not mine.

Molly, she meets Shane being very aware of Shane's history (Molly's mom told her about it) - so she's like nah-uh But she begins hanging out with Shane nonetheless. Molly is a middle-upper class girl from a scholarly family (her mom is the dean of a university), and Molly is a Law student, who scored in the 2% nationally for her LSAT (or whatever the Law tests are called xD) - So she's smart... she knows Shane's story, but she still becomes friends with her.

When they began going out, they were all playing "I Never" when Shane revealed she's never been in love, and Molly was like "aw. *looks of sadness* You've never been in love?"

But I actually never thought of it, until I was watching an episode and it hit me like a punch! I was like wait a minute! Physically, Shane has dark and really messy hair... and is really really skinny. Molly is fuller... not fat, but she's not flat - kinda how I picture Hermione. LOL- and she's got wavy/curly brownish auburn hair... and I was like, Dang~ I can't get over Harmony. ha!

I never thought of it that way.

Anyway I have my own couple. Spencer and Ashley from South of Nowhere. I already posted about them on the D/G forum for the forbidden nature of their relationship. Spencer's mother and brother are homophobic and didn't want her to be gay. They also believed that Ashley "turned" her gay.

They were best friends all through season 1, which was supposed to take place over 6 months and became lovers at the very end of the season. They did have a rough first meeting, remember how Harry thought Hermione was annoying at first? Ashley was in a bad mood for some reason when she first meet Spencer, she was asking for directions. They talked later that day and instantly connected. Spencer ended up in a love triangle between Ashley and a boy named Aiden. Spencer tried dating Aiden but she ended up crying on their date because she was in love with Ashley.

susan and lobsang from thief of time/discworld
they aren't officially together but they're both part anthropomorphic beings- susan by being death's granddaughter and lobsang by being the son of the incarnation of time- both of them were raised to be normal, well sort of in lobsang's case, susan is very no nonesense and does not tolerate stupidity while lobsang has a sort of saving people thing going on susan is even a bit older than lobsang just like hermione is a bit older than harry and she has to put up with a person who has been literally made to look perfect, emphasis on look
and susan and lobsang do kiss at the end of the book so they are rather together and i think they're perfect and totally remind me of hhr

Ellie & Will from Avalon High! I don't know if anyone's mentioned them before, but they reminded me so much of H/Hr! And Jennifer is a lot like Ginny, lol.

They remind of Cory and Topanga from Boy meets world, with Shawn as Ron. Their relationship and thier physical attributes remind me of them. Harry and Cory, very easy to remember. Hermione and Topanga, both weird and uncommon names, they are both the smartest in school.Their relationship starts in junior high, like Harry and Hermione's - even if it's only subtext- and together -in my dreams.

I was reading the archives of this topic and people were mentioning their first ships and how they remind them of H/Hr. My first ship was Ash/Misty from Pokemon. That's when I first heard the term 'shipper' because I was shipping Jesse/James as well and people who liked them were called RocketShippers.

There's the obvious thing, Ash is the hero and Misty is the heroine. They didn't get along at the first meeting because he broke her bike, that's why she started travelling with him. But as time has gone by they have become good friends, and she developed a crush on him. Ash is always looking for action while Misty tries to get him to properly prepare beforehand.

I grew out of Pokemon a few years ago, so I don't know how their relationship is now.

My new OTP of my life remind me of Harry/Hermione. This OTP is House/Cuddy from House M.D.

No, I'm not totally mad.

Strong intelligent girl and broody emo guy - check. Friends for a long time - check. Guy often gets self in to trouble and girl always gets him back out of it - check. Guy goes running to girl whenever he has a problem - check. Girl always stands by guy even though it often goes against her better judgement - check. Guy and girl often seem to understand each other on a level that no one else (not even the male best friend) ever gets - check. You see where I'm going with this. To me House/Cuddy is basically Harry/Hermione with real sexual tension added in.

If I hear one more person compare House/Cuddy to Ron/Hermione then I am going to have to slap a bitch. SERIOUSLY. They both bicker, so they must be alike. *rolls eyes* If you want to class it that way, House/Cuddy are a bickering couple while Ron/Hermione (IMHO) are a fighting couple, so there is a clear difference even there. Plus House/Cuddy have trust, respect, understanding - all things which to me Ron/Hermione blatantly lack much of the time.

Pardon the little rant - it just really grates my cheese to constantly see my favourite couple ever compared with one of my least favourite couples ever.

And do not even start me on how House/Cameron is like Harry/Ginny. Ugh.

I love House and Cuddy. They are totally drool worthy, and it took me a few episodes to see them together (I was a late comer to House overall). Few months back, I was totally obsessed with them, admittedly... it's decreased now, but I am expecting them getting together. If I am not wrong, I read a long while back that the writers were going for it.

Somehow, Orson and Bree from Desperate Housewives reminds me a little bit like H/Hr. SOMEHOW. Not physically... Bree is my fave housewife, just as Hermione was my fave character. Both seem perfect (one is the perfect housewife of the neighborhood, the other the brightest witch of their generation), yet we get to meet them and both are insecure, imperfect beings. Bree had the troubled marriage, the trouble kids and is being going through a lot. Hermione was the girl with no friends who over-compensated with studies and went through a lot too.

Then Bree met Orson, through shady circumstances... Orson had a past, a secret past. Let's just say he became a man sans father, and his mom didn't help much... so we could say he didn't have a mom either. Orson is very much like Bree, but he's different enough to complement her. I love them together, ha!

So Bree and Orson meet, and soon they are married. When Orson goes through the whole "I did not kill my wife" thing, Bree stands by his side, even though everyone thinks he's the killer. Though there's the part where she tells him to go to a motel when he confesses something. But in the end is all well and dandy, coz the mystery is resolved and Bree forgives him instantly (you have to understand she was just looking out for herself).

Anyway, they both work together in all... this season hiding Bree's fake pregnancy. LOL'

I enjoy watching the TV show, MOONLIGHT. It returned last night with a re-run of the last show aired before the writer's strike last fall. Next week will be the final few episodes for this season. By the previews, it looks like they're going to be good.

I was watching and thinking how Mick/Coralee remind me a little of H/G. Although I sort of like Coralee at this point of time in the series, not so much the way she was when Mick married her some 50 years ago! Anyways, I think that Mick/Beth are a lot like how H/Hr are. You can see the sexual tension between M/B. But Mick wants to give her time to get over Josh's death. Beth, is a bit confused about her feelings for both Mick and even for Josh. At least I believe she is. It could just be her way of grieving. But make no mistake, she feels something for Mick, and we know Mick loves her.

So, what do you all MOONLIGHT viewers think? M/B = H/Hr? I think so!

I'll look in the archives in a bit but I would also like to hear from you. I'm planning on making another H/Hr vid to the song "In Another Life" by Ashlee Simpson. I thought it would be cool to use another fictional couple to represent H/Hr in another life. What do you guys think will be good?

OMG.... just finishing watching my first JDrama, one episode ONLY and it's so Harry and Hermione. Not them so much, but their relationship.

The show is called Last Friends or in Japanese, Rasuto Furenzu. I'm not really sure who is the main character yet, though I'm divided between Michiru and Ruka. Both are 20-something young women, who were friends in high school. However, Michiru's family had to run away with her family due to her dad's debts so it's a true surprise for Ruka to have ran into Michiru 4 years later. They reconnect their friendship.

Michiru tells Ruka she's moving in with her boyfriend (who works for child welfare), and seems very happy to be reminiscing about old times with Ruka. Ruka tells Michiru she's working at a bike-shop part time, and doing motocross the other... laugh and joke around. Then Michiru tells Ruka she remembers when Ruka just to sit with her when she had family problems, and Ruka would just listen to her, and you can tell Ruka does care for Michiru.

Then, as always.... Michiru's boyfriend shows his A-hole colors and is seen going through Michiru's cellphone, finding Ruka's txt msg thinking Ruka is a boy, the BF goes ape and ends up beating the crap out of Michiru. When Michiru tries calling Ruka, she gets the machine. However, as soon as Ruka hears Michiru's breaking voice saying "I'll call later" She runs of in the rain with her umbrella, and arrives to where Michiru is sitting, drenched in rain, and covers her with the umbrella. KAWAII!!

Michiru is so sad, and surprised "how did u know I was here?" to which Ruka replies that she knew, but she wasn't sure she'd find her, and laughs a bit. Ruka then tells Michiru that she remembers they used to go there and talk, and I went awww

LOL, and that was just episode 1 hahaha.

Hey Toni... A while back, I went through the past threads and made a list of all the couples people had mentioned reminded them of H/Hr.
As I recall, the couples that were mentioned most often were:

So, take your pick from those! Though, I imagine some would be easier to do than others.

SO I just last night I went to go watch Made of Honor with my freinds and let me tell you it screamed HHR!!!!

Tom(played by Patrick dempsey) is a successful, handsome guy who ia pretty popular with the girls. he has a bunch of rules when it comes to dating so he is not with the same girl often. the only girl that stays in his life is Hannah(don't know who plays her ), his best friend. They meet in college...well they really did not meet formally, he thought that she was her roommate that planned to slept with. She's a bookworm(hermione!!!) and for ten years his best friend. They know everything about each other, like what they don't like to eat and how many wives their father has had!!! well she lives for scotland for six weeks and he realizes how much he loves her.


I'm seroius you guys have to watch this movie. I was squeling the whole entire time...saying "OMG HHR!". my freinds kept on saying "we know" lol... This Movie is a must watch!!!!

just so's you know, Michelle Monahan plays Hannah! I love her, she's amazing, and I can't wait to watch this one

By the way you describe the 2 characters, they do sound very much like Harry and Hermione. I hope it ends better than what happened in the crapalogue of doom.

I dontknow if i'm the only Sci-Fi geek that watches this show here... But Stargate SG-1's Jack Oneill and Samantha Carter are very much like HHr. Yes the age difference is well different. But Jack is the courageous, take charge guy and Samantha is the incredibly smart heroine. There is also the element of trust and teamwork that Harmony shows.

I do a lot of babysitting, and in the course of that babysitting I watch Power Rangers quite a bit. A couple that reminds me of HHR is Mack/Rose from the 2007 season, Operation Overdrive.

Rose is a child prodigy (Hermione) and pretty much knows everything. Mack always goes running off to do something stupid (Harry) and Rose always freaks out with worry over him. Plus, she runs to him for hugs (See CoS movie)

Another one: Hellboy/Liz from Hellboy.

I've been reading a whole lot of books right now, and i can't help but see Harry and Hermione as the characters of those books.. and the closest thing that i've read that's like H/H is "Face the Fire" by Nora Roberts.. which is really not that close....

So i was wondernig if you guys have read any books that are like H/H?

The Dresden Files, after the second book the two main characters, Harry Dresden and Karrin Murphy fall into a definate H/H relationship

I mentioned Jamie/Jude from Instant Star in the last thread. The series just ended so I'll fill you in on what happened. As I said there was always a love triangle between Jude, Jamie, and Tommy. Jamie/Jude is like H/Hr while Tommy/Jude is like R/Hr. Good news, she didn't end up with Tommy. Bad news, she didn't end up with Jamie either. She chose to go to London alone and take a recording contract there. She chose music over both guys.

It's a s3x comedy from Canada that's more like a mash-up of short films about different people (exes, roomates, etc) and their relation to sex. One of the stories is about the "Friends", so being the obsessive Harmonian that I am... I thought H/Hr. And also... I am/might be spoiling the film~~

Here's Amy's brain thinking of Harmony, and probably stretching things again xD

This film, 2006's Niji no Megami (or Rainbow Song), it stars my two favorite Japanese actresses, Juri Ueno and Yu Aoi. xD and Hayato Ichihara~~

It is a very depressing romantic film, though~ xD

Tomoya + Aoi!!

I will be spoiling the film in my explanation, so just naming the couple + film so you can watch by yourself. Read the quote, if you wanna be spoiled and see if it reminds you of H/Hr as well....

Highlight to read!

It starts with Hayato's character (Tomoya) in his office at a TV station, when he and all the staff find out of the death of a girl they all knew in a plane crash. We see the little reaction this causes on Tomoya, who seems little, if not, affected at all.

Then we learn how he and Juri Ueno's character (Aoi) meet in the first place. You see, Tomoya began following Aoi because he was stalking his ex, who happened to be Aoi's friend. After a series of tries by Tomoya to get to his ex through Aoi, the two end up as friends in art/film school, where Aoi seems to be a bright young filmmaker.

One day, they are shooting a film project for Aoi, when her female lead refuses to kiss Tomoya, so the crew pushes Aoi to re-shoot the whole thing and be the actress/director. Getting her first kiss on camera... but he never thinks of her that way, and suddenly points out that he thinks the female lead is 'cute'... so~~~ Aoi says he should say something, while Tomoya suggests that Aoi should help him out by writing a letter.

As everyone grows up and mature, they see each other less often, but Aoi and Tomoya manage to meet from time to time. One day, they meet up and decide to go to one of those 'speed dates' thingies, where Aoi is embarassed by not being picked by any of the participants. On the way, drunk as h3ll, Tomoya jokes around saying that maybe they should get married. She explodes, reproaching him that he stole her first kiss, and now he's stealing her marriage proposal moment... what would happen if no one EVER asked her again?? Is this all some sort of sick joke??

They sort of leave that in the air, and continue their lives. One day, Aoi decides to go to LA to follow her film making dream, encouraged by her superior at work. Since Aoi is leaving a job behind, she decides to let Tomoya first hand, because he's in need of one. Days later, he finds out he's only getting the job coz she's leaving, and wonders why. He questions her, obviously not wanting her to go. When she tells her that if he (her superior, but really meaning Tomoya) wanted her to stay he would say something.

Tomoya get's that. He wants to say something, but all he gets to do is tell her to do her best, and to achieve her goals and dreams. The day she leaves, Tomoya takes a picture of a weird-looking rainbow with his cellphone and sends it with a voicemail.

Then, when the beginning of the film starts to sink in, we see Tomoya in present day, visiting Aoi's place the day after her family returns with her ashes. Yu Aoi's character, Aoi's sister, Kana (who is blind) is there and receives him. She tells him that there are some stuff in her sister's room that he might want, so they go upstairs.

Kana hands him a burn cellphone, belonging to Aoi, that was retrieved from the plane crash and tells Tomoya that he should have it. He checks that the last message was his, and hears his voice. Kana tells him that his voice was probably the last thing her sister ever heard.

Tomoya seems a little bit more affected by this.

Then Kana hands him a letter, and another souvenir (which Aoi had kept from when they first meet). In the letter, Aoi writes the letter Tomoya asked for to conquest the female lead in their film. It begins describing all of Tomoya's bad, yet endearing qualities... like his stalker-y behavior towards his exes, or his sillyness... etc And through this writing, Tomoya finally realizes that Aoi was really in love with him, as he begins to well up. Kana points out that her sister was always in love with him, and when she hears him sobbing, Kana realizes that Tomoya was also in love with her sister.

GOSH! Saddest story ever~~ I must watch this again and brawl like a baby.

In previous topics people talked about the Friends couples: Ross & Rachel and Monica & Chandler. I think if you put them together makes H/Hr. Ross & Rachel fight over big things while Monica & Chandler fight over little things. When Harry & Hermione fight it's over something important like Ross & Rachel. Monica's & Chandler's fights tend to be over insifigant things like Ron & Hermione. (But Monica and Chandler didn't really fight all that much before they were together. It can't really be said if Ron and Hermione fighted the same way after they got together)

On the friends-first thing, it goes with both couples. It's hard to say how good of friends Ross & Rachel were before the series premire. She was friends with Monica and Ross was her brother. He had a crush on her then but it's hard to say what their friendship status was then. They did become friends in season one and became a couple halfway through season two. Monica and Chandler were friends for a few years before the series premire. It can be debated when they became a "couple." They first had a one-night stand but couldn't keep away from each other after that. (little bit of trivia: originally they planned for Monica & Chandler to just have a one-night stand but then changed their minds and made them a couple) It's easier for me to think they were a couple when they first said "I love you."

I think if Harry and Hermione were to get together post-DH it would be like Monica & Chandler. They would have a one-night stand and realize their true feelings for each other. So they fight like Ross & Rachel but would get together like Monica & Chandler.

Zero/Yuuki from manga (comic japan) "Vampire Knight"

zero's an orphan, his parents were murdered by a pureblood vampire, then he met a cute girl who really cares for him alot, would do anything for him, to point "I don't care if you hate me bcoz of this"

zero's really protective towards yuuki from any danger

and they're both are guardians in a school


... Zero/Yuuki have similar things with Harmony (best friends, the angst, tragic background) but they also later change into positions like Draco/Ginny (come from two families are supposed to be enemies)

Aang/Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender are very much like Harry and Hermione. They start out as good friends and gradually fall in love. Aang is a lot like Harry, and Katara is a little like Hermione.

Zuko/Mai is a little like Harry/Hermione. There were old friends from when they were younger.

They had such a great and tragic relationship.

Well, I have to admit (in case you haven't noticed) that I am pretty messed up thanks to HP shipping, and now everywhere I see, I have too see Harmony. LOL

99.9% of the time, I say out loud... this is so H/Hr, and I actually analyze these couples.

I was watching a NHK drama called Yoshitsune, and I know it's sort of based on real people, and it might have gone that way, but I thought Yoshitsune should've gotten together with Utsubo, instead of Shizuka.

Also, I just began another NHK drama called Atsu-Hime, and I've sort of been leaning towards Atsu-hime(aka. Okatsu) and Naogoro, but then I'm thinking they won't end together. xD

Sighs. I think this might be my last post here since there isn't much activity around anymore.

Buran/Mahmud from Seven Daughters and Seven Sons by Barbara Cohen and Bahija Lovejoy- Buran is a strong, intelligent woman who masquerades as a man in order to get into the trading business so she can make enough money to support her family and Mahmud is a merchant prince who, after being introduced to Buran by an EXTREMELY Ron like character, quickly becomes best friends with her, eventually he discovers she's a woman and after some trials they end up together and it's just an awesome book that can satisfy any harmonian

Elinor Dashwood and Edward Ferrars- two people with a great deal in common who both generally place the happiness of others over their own happiness. Edward is engaged to someone completely unsuitable, aka a ginny character, but unlike in JKR's mess up he ends up with the right woman in the end

Fanny Price & Edmund Bertram - Fanny, who like Harry has had a childhood of being the poor relation that is taken in and considered "beneath" the rest, but despite this, mostly due to the kind attentions of Edmund, has developed a strong moral backbone that withstands temptations and pressures to change as exerted by outside forces and she chooses to remain true to herself which reminds me of Harry's choices despite his own history; Edmund's constant valuing of Fanny above others and kindnesses to her remind me a lot of Hermione's doing the same for Harry over the years

Jamal was the one who reached out to her. It reminds me how if it was up to Ron, Hermione would have never been in the trio as he didn't like her at all at first. Harry reached out to her and helped her with the troll. Salim was never really nice to either of them while Jamal developed a good friendship with her as fell in love with her as time passed.

Okay, found one! Don't know if its been said but Richard/Kahlan from Legend of the Seeker (the tv version...have never read the books). They just scream HHr for me. Kahlan is that quick-thinking, always-there-to-protect-you kind of girl. Never mind that she has to. She genuinely wants to. And then Richard...well, he's the legendary seeker destined to kill this big bad villain in a prophecy so I think that spells out Harry in a nutshell. Except he doesn't have that brooding side of him. But he is as sweet as Harry. So, that's another similarity, I suppose.

Well lets see their are Molder and Scully, Ned and Chuck, Jack and Kate, Bill and Sukie.

I don't hate Ron either. But he really didn't like Hermione at the beginning of the first book. I don't think he would have gotten to know her if Harry didn't urge him to help with the troll.
