Is it just me or has everyone totally dismissed the Harmony ship since DH.
I believe that even considering the epilogue, there is still enough to suggest Harmony can exist and a fanfiction sequel could be written including the epilogue.
Does anyone agree?
P.s. theres a one shot fic somewhere on the first two pages that explains ( in a way that could be canon) why Harry and Hermione aren't talking to each other and gives legitimate reason why it is still possible, the author of that if you are reading, you are an exceptional writer.
Also a good fic, The Meaning of Father

LOL! I don't know if I would qualify for this but I became a full Harmony shipper dead on it AFTER reading DH yes AFTER DH! And I think that there is a lot to go on.
1) It was all a dream because Harry's last thought was
"sleeping in a four-poster bed" Can't remember who made that theory but I

!!!!!!!!!!!!
2) TENSION in Epilogue....
3) The characters make fun of it LOL An amazing fic called "The Hogwarts Alumni bookclub" Def a hialrious feel good for Post-DH depression

Perhaps the reason for the R/Hr and H/G ships came about to show that no relationships are perfect and that it is human nature to make mistakes and disregard the sensible option.
Irony : Hermione really smart and intelligent in the brain but is clueless when it comes to the heart.
The only explanation for the end ships, as otherwise our ship prevails.
The signs of tension in the epilogue I think show that, however subtely, the issue of H/Hr has arisen.
As for the Bit after the Horcrux, where Harry speaks of Hermione as "like a sister" , what else was Harry going to say, no we have great chemistry and you are going to take this well because u didn't just throw the proverbial dummy out of the pram when Hermione chose not to ditch me and your not always jealous of me, despite the fact u have no reason to.
Also Harry is clueless about women, so believes that Hermione and Ron love each other. Harry sacrifices his only happiness and feelings for his friends, hence the sister comment.
Also Harry i think is resigned to his death and has been since the Prophecy, he has lived only to avenge his loved ones. He loves both Hermione and Ginny and is torn between his sexual fantasy (Ginny) and his true love (Hermione). He wants to get Ron and Hermione together to make sure neither are alone and he expects Ginny to find another bf because she is such a "popular girl".
Although one may argue he is not resigned to his death because of his reaction to Snape's memories, this is more down to his shock that Dumbledore has condemned him to death and has betrayed him. After all its only natural he has one last bit of hope that he will survive and he will be helped by Dumbledore and that is defeated. He feels abandoned and wanted to at least experience love before his death.
Could choosing Neville to kill the snake have foreshawed him choosing Neville for Ginny for after he dies and then once he survives he thinks Ron and Hermione are in love and chooses Ginny so he has one of his loves ( albeit the lesser one) rather than none. Coincidentally Hermione applied the same theory to Harry and chose Ron, perhaps because she resigned to Harry choosing Ginny or him dying ( Hermione seems clueless about her own love life).
Cynical - but people are when it comes to love!

Whichever way I decide - whether to tear out and burn the epilogue, or burn books six and seven (could go all the way while I'm at it, couldn't I?) - there's no doubt about it:

After 6 years, I'm still here too.
In my mind, the Crapilogue was a bad dream and H/G + R/Hr would've never gotten that far. At some point (hopefully soon) I believe Hermione would've smartened up and realized everything and broken off with Ron.
Still trying to find a fic that'll do that nicely, I've read a few that are excellent replacements of the crapilogue.
Also have a fic bunny and may actually write one myself!
But yes, I do not accept OBHWF. I'm not going to cry or harass JKR about it but it's forgotten from my mind.
H/Hr Forever.

Well, I was off for a pretty long time. But not because I abandoned my ship. I also lost my appetite for Harry Potter in general after reading DA. The last chapter and the Epilogue were read in a hurry, because it saddened me to see the other ships comming alive, thus transfiguring my reading into a nightmare. And the Epilogue hit me like a bludger, because I still had one last tiny hope. Oh well...what's another sunken ship when everything in the world is perfect...
But now I'm BACK. Go HHr!!!

Am I still here? Yes. (very, very, very, very long time since I posted...or even visited).
in all things, I have seen my ship sank. but then I think of the USS Arizona. Sank at Pearl Harbor in 1941. A grand ship that was dealt a devastating blow. But something about that ship. Everyone knows of the Arizona. how it served valiantly in the preceding years as a dedicated ship, with an even more dedicated group serving on it. To honor the Arizona, the US Navy decreed that no other ship built after WWII would ever be given its name. And none has since.
The ship was sank. And I did see it myself in person, beneath the waves of Honolulu.
Our ship was sank, it was defeated. But to me, no other 'ship for any two characters will ever meet the requirements of being called Harmony. none deserve it.
Just because something is gone, does not mean that it will be forgotten. Many times it is only made immemorial.
I will always be a crewman of the Harmony. Because it gives me a feeling of what true love should be. Stemming from friendship, trusting, devoted, honorable. and I will look for my own Harmony in my life, as I think everyone here should.
Blakeburna is still here. resting on the ocean floor, eating his pumpkin pie.

Still popping in and out.
Reading post OotP fanfics every so often, waiting on some authors to update actually.
I think I knew that from early HBP it wasn't going where I hoped, and that the series wasn't going to evolve to an older audience (fair enough).
DH had interesting moments - Godrics Hollow, was kind of sad when he felt left out(R/Hr closeness)
Still a happy crewmate of Harmony.

I'm still here and rather bitter towards the end. I think JKR made a mistake, but that's just my opinion ^__^ It's like in the last two books she purposely distanced the two to make it seem like R/Hr would work. Blah.

My interest in Harry Potter in general has been declining, but I'm still here!

Even though we didn't get H/Hr in canon, I'm satisfied with the lovely moments we did get (I didn't expect to have that many in DH!). I still have fanfiction to go to, and that's all that matters.
I was lurking around here everyday for a while, but I never really left. I'm too attached to this place to leave it, I think.

It's been, like, an eternity since I've wandered back here and posted. After DH I just really lost my desire for HP. But I came to accept it, and realized that in my imagination things worked out quite nicely.
But I'm the same as
blake_burna. Just looking for my own little Harmony story to play out in my own reality. It was just a darn shame that JKR didn't write what could've been the greatest love in literature.
But then again... (sighs) It wasn't all about that. Blaaaah.

I think this will be my first post that actually counts on the post counter since maybe DH was released. :-/ After 5 years or so and 3 of those being a member here at PK I'm still a Harmonian and still lurking around PK. Shoot I run the unofficial PK IRC chatroom which I'm on just about every night. So I suppose I'm still lurking on the forums and messing around PK IRC style. I might just get back into my forum mode that I had those years before DH was released. I admit I lost my faith in H/H, but seeing all those old members back this long after DH came out I'm ready to come back rejoin PK world. lol. I might even get myself back into fanfiction which I haven't read in months and I mean months not a single fanfic. Anyways my rambling has come to an end.

I like to drop in time to time to see what people are talking about. I still love H/Hr and I'm willing to defend them to anyone who will listen. But the sad truth is that there's no point since the non-shippers will just say that H/G and R/Hr happened and that's that.

I've been a lurker my entire Portkey career, but I admit, I went away from the site after DH. For the last three months, I've been visiting every other day just to see if anything new has been added to any of the forums. I'm actually still very much in love with Harry and Hermione, more than I realised. And I'm actually curious to see what WB does with the last three films, given the material they have and the recent comments by JKR that "it could have gone that way."

not put too much stock in that.

I do notice lots of oldbie shippers lurk in here. Many read the movie news, many go to fic recs or lost & found, some browse over the challenges they've started, some go to the threads where they've chatted with other PK-ers. Good to see them/you around.
