Seriously, what kind of sick person wants to be Harry Potter when he's thrashing around in bed in agony, has a psychomaniac after him that he can't get out of his head, he can talk to snakes (which people think means he's evil), on top of school work and Quidditch? Not to mention the entire school thinks you're nuts? Yeah, sounds like a cake-walk being famous to me.

I saw this joke on another site and it made me laugh so I thought I would share it here since I thought you guys would appreciate it - However, I am not sure where exactly H/Hr jokes might belong so please move this if you feel it's necessary mods.

This came to me because a R/Hr shipper once told me she was jealous because H/Hr have better icons.

This came to me from a dumb argument a R/Hr shipper made. She said that H/Hr is bad because she shows her weakness to him while she just shows her strength to Ron. Wait, if you can't show all of yourself to your loved one, how do you know if they really love you?

You ask a good question. A person who is in love shows their true self to the one they are in love with. We give ourselves fully to the one we love, figuratively and literally. There's no holding back because there is a total trust with the one we are in love with.

The Heron that told you that Hermione showed weakness when around Harry while she just showed strength to Ron was wrong. Hermione showed both a vulnerability and a strength with Harry. I never felt that Hermione was quaking in her shoes even when Harry was being obnoxious (as in OOTP when he was ALL CAPS Harry). It is so obvious to me that she loves Harry, and so, she shows all of her emotions when she is around him. I can't say it any clearer than that.

Oh, and here's my H/Hr slogan:

I LOVE that one with the weakness, if you love someone you can be vulnerable and give your all to them and show your strength. The person sees your bad and good and loves you in spite of it.

I always saw Hermione knowing how to push his buttons, and during OoTP I think the combination of seeing him like that and the shock made her teary (and a part of me thinks that Hermione knew Harry would shut up if she was crying, because she's scarily cunning like that ) and during it she would just slap him upside the head and tell him to buck up when he crossed the line, but then she'd also support and listen.

You know? Only if JKR rewrote the HP series in Hermione's POV everyone would see that Hermione loved Harry first and will always love him even after that epilogue.

Having read the first six books once each I could have written a more believable, more literarilly acceptable conclusion to the HP series.

I appreciate the sentiment but I don't believe the Heron was actually saying that Hermione just showed weakness to Harry. They did say H/Hr was bad because she showed weakness to him period. While not showing any to Ron. Still a dumb argument as I said earlier that if you don't show all of yourself to your loved one, how do you know they really love you?

This thread totally reminds me of that time when I wore a shirt with a pumpkin on the front of it to the release of HBP.

I had read all the spoilers, so I was positively broken hearted... and I still wore my shirt as planned... Underneath the pumpkin it said "Because she's not ugly and he's not a bad kisser..."

I kind of want to do a really subtle, very beautiful shirt design and write something really cryptic on it... lol something like "My sin was to read between the lines"

Maybe one of you know, btw where this came from?

We're thinking of subtitles for our upcoming PK forum banners. Been thinking of borrowing from JKR's comments above. One banner could read:

H/Hr: because the entire series was full of "charged" and "intense" moments shared between them that no one else have participated in.

Wish I could make that catchier. Any suggestions?

One of our other to-be-displayed banners reads "H/Hr: because it takes more than food to tear them apart." We got that from here. We might need to wait until mid-2010 to display that banner though as there are others waiting in line.
