Hello I just tried to recommond a fiction in the General Fan Fiction section. And it said that I'm not allowed to do this. Is there something wrong with my account, or are only certain people allowed to recommend in that section? Any help would be welcome.

you can only recommend by going to > http://recs.portkey.org

I wanted to make a post about the terrific new LJ comm a _pumpkin_xmas, which is posting a new story or art piece every day in December to celebrate H/Hr. The recs forum seemed to be the most logical place, but I get a message that I don't have permission to start a thread there. Help?

It's because Recommendations are for recs for fics, not general recs for communities, sites, etc. Your best bet would be to post in the H/Hr forum.

Well, I could understand it if I posted and a mod let me know that there was a better place for my post. But it literally wouldn't let me start a topic there. *shrugs*

Well, that's because only the FIC REC-Engine can start a new topic in this Forum. I don't know if you ever noticed our very nifty Rec-Engine where you can look which stories you've read or didn't read and all.
