Okay, so I've got this fanfic in the works. It goes roughly like this:

Harry and Ginny, post-DH-pre-epilogue, are in a cohabitant but unmarried relationship. (Yes, I don't ship H/Hr. Yes, I have a soul.) Harry has been being lavished with attention by the media, and the fame is beginning to go to his head.

One day, Ginny finds out that Harry's cheating on her. This is either because he is a bigheaded arse or because he is being sent (from Draco, with hair from random women) love potion-doused chocolates in the mail, which he has foolishly eaten. Ginny, at this revelation, has a nervous breakdown and is placed into St. Mungo's.

Draco mysteriously starts visiting her on a regular basis, while Harry does not. Ginny refuses to talk to him, but she devours the apples he leaves behind, which may or may not be laced with a friendship-creating potion. Ginevra begins to appreciate Draco's company -- not so much that she's happy that he's there, but that she would be sad if he wasn't there.

When Ginny gets out, Draco is there, and smirks, because he planned this. To his shock, as she greets him, his heartstrings tug and he responds with affection. As Draco becomes flushed, Ginny looks concerned, and rushes cloer to him, putting one arm around his neck and the other on his forehead.

Overcome with the intimacy of their position, Draco and Ginny share their first kiss.

Is that dreadfully OOC?

I encourage PKers to debate the OOCness of other fics of theirs in this thread as well.

As far as Dracio is concerned, I can see that happen, but you have to be careful that he doesn't seem to soft at the beginning. He can visit Ginny, but don't let him appear too caring at the very beginning, that most develop slowly. If you chose the plot with Draco sending a love potion to Harry, you can make Draco visit Ginny because he feels guilty, that wouldn'tr be too OOC. I don't think Hatrry would cheat on Ginny without a potion involved anyways. No, I don't ship Harry and Ginny, but Harry is just not the kind of guy who cheats on his gierlfriend, no matter with whom. If he came to the conclusion that he wants someone else, the least he would do is to tell GHinny before he sleeps with this other woman.

But honestly, I think the part about Ginny having a nervous breakdown because her boyfriend cheated on her is OCC. Ginny has been through a lot. She was first possessed and then kidnapped by Tom Riddle, she fought Death Eaters when she was only 14, she had to worry for months about Hatry, Ron and Hermione while they were on Horcrux hunt and she lost Fred. None of that caused her to becvome a case for St. Mungo, I doubt Harry cheating on her could.
