An Useful Prophet Article
As usual, Hermione Granger got up at seven in the morning, and after going to the bathroom, she walked to the kitchen where she would fix breakfast for herself and Harry, who never got up earlier than her. They were living together as they were both in the Auror Training Program, so they had the same schedules and it felt good to not be alone. Ron Weasley, their mutual friend, had chosen a Quidditch career, and chose to keep living at the Burrow when he was home, which wasn’t really often, as he played for a French team.
So, you can imagine her astonishment when she found Harry, already woken up, showered and dressed, and sipping his coffee, at the kitchen table.
“Good morning, Hermione” he warmly greeted her while he was reading the Prophet. Not that he believed what they wrote, but it had become an habit, and he kept it up.
“Why are you up so early?” she bluntly asked, still surprised.
“Oh, nothing to worry about. I figured I could make you breakfast for once” he grinned at her, and she softened, sitting in front of him.
As she did so, his eyes travelled along the newspaper page to an article that caught his eye. Reading the title, he inwardly laughed, and a sparkle lighted his eyes. He was going to have fun.
“Found something interesting?” she asked, seeing his amused face.
“I did, in fact” he said.
Then he started reading.
“Harry Potter’s best female friend, Hermoine Gragner, was seen yesterday with their mutual best friend, Ronnie Wesley, while the two were walking hand in hand through Diagon Alley”
She glared at him, and tried to snatch the newspaper, but his Seeker reflexes kept him safe from her assaults. He kept reading aloud.
“The couple has been reported to have gone window-shopping for most of the afternoon, and they were often seen laughing softly at something the other whispered, or snuggling close on a bench”
“Wow, Hermione, I never thought you’d keep something like this from me!” he said, as serious as he managed to stay.
“Harry, please! You more than anyone else should know that they write only rubbish! They even managed to misspell my and Ron’s names!” she said, getting angrier by the minute.
“Hey, hey. Aren’t you getting a bit too defensive?” he said. “Maybe there’s some truth in this…” he said, pretending to be deep in thought about the matter.
“Oh, come on!”
“Wait, it gets better! “A trustworthy reader of ours reported them entering a cozy café to have lunch together, and that they left soon after to go and look at rings in the jewellery in front of it. Seems quite clear the two young friends of our beloved hero are serious about each other and plan to marry soon”
“Bloody Hell, if I find who wrote this..” she said, stomping out of the kitchen and going to have her shower. Harry laughed at her antics, and resumed sipping his coffee while searching for something more interesting than that.
All day he kept teasing her about the article, and at training she was the center of attention for all their classmates, so when they arrived home she was more than a bit pissed. She entered the kitchen, where their copy of the newspaper was, and tore it open to look at the article herself.
“Look! The photos have clearly been tampered with, you can’t believe they are true even if you were drunk!” she ranted, and Harry leaned on the door to look at her. He found her to be adorable when she was all worked up like this, and even if he knew he might risk his own health, he couldn’t let a chance to take the mickey out of her pass.
“You know, I’m not convinced. The article seemed pretty detailed about what the two of you did, and now that I think about it, you weren’t in training yesterday afternoon…” he said.
“Harry, please…do not start again!”
“Convince me, then. Make me believe you” he dared her with a smile, and she looked at him in shock. Then, an idea came to her mind, and she smirked.
“You sure you want that?”
“Yep” he said, watching her walk closer and closer. He soon found himself mere inches from her face, and then she grabbed him by the shirt, and kissed him hard on the lips.
As her tongue slid on his lips, Harry threw caution to the wind and pulled her even closer, kissing her back as fiercely. Tongues danced together, in each other mouths, for long minutes of pure bliss. Mione felt bold seeing Harry’s reaction and moved on his lap, where he started caressing her back while still keeping their mouths connected.
As they finally parted, their breath was heavy, and their lips swollen.
“Are you convinced now?” she purred.
“I think I might need some more proof” he cheekily replied before capturing her lips again, and she was more than happy to comply.
After they stopped snogging their brains out, Harry suggested they went out for a night of celebrating. Hermione agreed, so thye Apparated to a Wizard restaurant.
While they ate quietly, they linked their fingers, and kept looking adoringly at each other.
Then Hermione suddenly started giggling like mad.
“What’s so funny?” he asked, smiling.
“I was just thinking, if someone of the Prophet saw us now, wonder what they could write on tomorrow newspaper” she said, sipping her wine.
Harry joined her laughter, and nodded. “You’ve got to admit it has been useful though” he said, caressing the back of her hand.
“Definitely” she agreed.
After dinner they set for a romantic walk under the stars, and she snuggled close while he draped an arm around her shoulders.
“Feels so good” she murmured, and he kissed the top of her head.
“It does” he confirmed, then he stopped and looked at her. She gazed up at him, and their eyes locked.
Then he spoke again.
“I love you, Hermione Granger”
“I love you too, Harry” she said before kissing him softly.

A little rant. I've not read DH yet, but I just want to say I'll stay by our couple whatever it will happen in the book, nothing JK writes can make me change my idea.
I believe in Harmony, full stop.
