My mom thinks that Harry and Hermione will happen. Though she watches the movies but she hasn't read the books yet.

My dad doesn't know the names of the characters so I describe it to him. He thinks that Harry and Hermione look like a good couple too.

One of my friends want H/Hr to happen because she thinks that Ron isn't worthy of Hermione because they bicker a lot which causes Hermione to get hurt.

I could hug all of them!! *squee*

My two brothers are H/Hr and the my parents don't read HP or watch the movies. My best friend is a H/Hr but sadly all my other friends are Herons.

Well, I live in what seems an extremely illiteral city since I know absolutely NO ONE who's read the books. (except for one girl and two boys who all happen to be american, so I'm the only mexican). And I'm serious, it's oustanding.

But, being prous movie-gooers, everyone's watched the movie, and I'm serious when I say that before I myself read HBP, I didn't have an inkling of a possible relationship between Ron and Hermione or Harry Ginny. I myself only ever saw HHr, assumed it was obvious that they'd end up together, and everybody else I know, including my family and friends still THINK that it will be HHr because they've only ever watched the movies and there's nobody who can trell them otherwise because nobody has read the books besides myself, and I don't want to ruin it for them.

Actually, here's a funny thing. When I first read HBP, I went about on a rampage, I seriously could not believe the pairings, I'd never seen it coming. And I went to my family and told them about it and they just looked at me like I was crazy, and then my little brother went ahead and said "Ha! You can't trick me! That's not true! You're just saying it to trick us into reading the book, but no, I know it's Harry and Hermione together!"

I didn't really undesrtand his weird argument, but everyone in my family just smiled and nodded. So, as it turns out, I told them the real pairings...and they didn't even believe me!

No one I know is Hhr or even HP obsessed, but they all thought, and still think that it will be HHr in the end.

I've even got one friend who hasn't read the books but I talked her into reading fanfics and now she's HHr obsessed too! But poor girl, she has no idea of HBP, unless things turn out to our favor in DH, she'll have quite a blow.
Ravenclaw(d69)
I chatted with a distant friend who I havent talked to in forever. She's just a light Harry Potter fan not as obsessive as me. When I said I like Harry/Hermione shes like "What? But there was nothing in the books!". I was like eeeergh....And then she acted like I was being cutely stupid or whatever/

I came across this thread and thought I should try asking my sisters (one is 9 and the other is 6 tongue.gif )who have been watching the movies everyday for the past month. And just from watching the movies they said hermione and harry are going to be together. I know they are both young, but it shows that h/hr just makes sense. biggrin.gif
swish_and_flick

sorcerer.gif i have a cousin who has watched al the movies but he doesn't care who ends up with who, my mom and dad couldn't care less about harry potter. my dad thiks i should start reading my textbooks in the same way i read the hp books LOL, and i'm driving my mom crazy because i talk about harry potter too much, like for the past 3 weeks i've been screaming everyday the days, hours , minutes and seconds till book 7. the only one who is pretty interested is my five-year old brother.. ( he thinks Hermione is pretty) and he keeps saying that harry is her boyfriend. i don't have anyone to talk to about Harmony stuff since i live in Brazil and my friends don't seem to understand why i care so much about them... SuperAngry.gif i have one friend who read the 4 book and she thinks it should be h/hr. i'm a DELUSIONAL harmony shipper thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

My entire immediate family (mother, father, sister) are all in to HP to some point. I haven't really heard my Dad's views on shipping, though once he said that Hermione "LIKES Harry Potter", though that was a couple years ago (first movie).

My Mom and sister are both really R/Hr and H/G shippers, I would say (as was I, once, and I think I probably still am to some extent with the first one), but both don't seem to have any sort of problem with my H/Hr shipping in the past year: Mom says that she could see Harry "with any one of three girls in his life" (i.e. Hermione, Ginny or Luna). Sure, she prefers H/G, but I doubt she'd have much of a problem if it ended up H/Hr or H/L. My sister is similar: she's said to me "Well, they [Harry and Hermione] would be a cute couple" a couple of times, though I don't think she thinks it will possibly happen in canon. It's a bit complicated, and I'm not sure if I'm currently mentally organized enough to explain right, but that's the gist of it.

Oh, and my Dad's one of those who keeps hoping that Dumbledore is alive, somehow, and Snape a good guy: the rest of us have all taken turns at pointing out the evidence to him, and I don't think he really believes his own hope: he's just hoping. As I said to him the other day (paraphrasing: I forget my exact words): "Well, you've said things that at the time I thought were crazy but have since changed my mind about, but here...I'd like for you to be right, but I can see literally no way. Dumbledore's dead, and Snape is evil. I'm not saying Snape will definitely not help Harry at some point in the last book, but he's evil: he used Avada Kedavra on Dumbledore."
Ginny_makkura
I was talking to my boyfriend the other day, who's only seen the movies and thinks I'm plainly obsessed ^_____^

Him: So, it's Harry and Hermione in Book 6, right?
Me: No.
Him: Oh. Who is it?
Me: Harry hooks up with Ginny.
Him: Who's Jenny? ( thumbup.gif )
Me: GINNY. The one Harry rescues from the Chamber of Secrets.
Him: ??
Me: Ron's sister.
Him: Ah. That Jenny?
Me: Ginny.
*He sings* Jenny, Jenny....

Could've hugged him for that.

I've also got a friend who frequently goes to read M***lenet, and she just would not discuss anything with me, she always goes "Well, we know you've got your own little theory, but that still won't change a thing."

Yeah, it's just me thinking Harry and Hermione will end up together, right??

We'll see who laughs in the end...... cool.gif

my dad is oblvious 2 shipping happening lol he knows very little of Harry Potter. and my mom, well after i told her how DH ended she agreed and said well R/hr argues so naturally. does arguing really=love? i think not. i almost had a relationship with a guy that got along with like r/hr does and it ended very badly.

i dont get people who says arguing is love! ugh SuperAngry.gif . anyway i'm pretty much alone in my h/hr shipping, my friend who only sees the movies though it was going to be h/hr before i told her wat happened in those crappy last books. my other friend is accepting of h/hr and loathes h/g lol thumbup.gif

and after that the rest very few hp fan friends i have say they dont see h/hr. guess believing in ture love is rare these days rolleyes.gif
strawberry_nerd
everyone on my mom's side, except i think great grandma, are HP fans, one of my cousins even brought a fairly detailed HP quiz- everyone got an O or E on it
as to shipping some are r/hr and some are h/hr my sisters won't stop claiming that dumbledore isn't dead while my dad just watches this with amusement because he hasn't read the books he just gleans enough from our conversations to make jokes about it
dad's side are passive fans except one aunt but she's more into LotR
beckiebex
sadly everyone in my house supports H/G and R/Hr well my brother has a small soft spot for H/Hr but apart from that hes cannon till the end. My mum just keeps giving me these glances that say 'i dont know how you can think that'.
Celebrian Helyanwe
I just asked my mom and she said "I dunno. I never gave it much thought. I always thought the two of them were going to get together, but. I guess not, huh? I mean from the first book, I always thought it was gonna be the two of them."

Exact words.

My sister is one of those casual R/Hr shippers who just goes with the flow of canon. But she doesn't hesitate to throw R/Hr in my face when I'm already down. During OotP we were sitting next to each other and I kept smacking her during all the H/Hr scenes and she kept slapping me during all the R/Hr scenes. At the end of GoF, she was laughing in my face. As soon as she finishes the book she'll be laughing in my face. But she isn't too happy with the idea of Harry/Ginny. She, like me, thought it came out of nowhere. She's a D/G shipper. But not so much as she used to be.

I have a friend who is best friends with my sister and she is also an R/hr shipper. She's exactly like my sister. They both think I'm insane how avid an H/Hr shipper I am.

All my other friends will eat up anything I say about H/Hr, because they don't care about HP or shipping nearly as much as I do. So we all have fun bashing Ginny while I give all my reasons for H/Hr being better and they all go, "Yup....yeah...I know really......die Ginny....JKR can't write....." but they really don't care.
Silvestria
Well, my mum's read my fanfiction so she knows I'm H/Hr. I don't think she cares much. She quite liked HBP and casually canon ships but I can't imagine her reaction to the epilogue when she's finished reading DH. She's of the "yeah, sure, teen relationships but won't last" camp. She is sympathetic to H/Hr though.

My dad has never read the books but enjoys laughing at my obsession interest. I'd never dare talk to him about shipping!!

My friends ship eclectically. I have several friends who quite like H/Hr though they're not proper shippers. Then they ship R/Hr, H/G, H/L, Snape/Hermione, D/Hr, Dumbledore/McGonagall, Voldemort/Belletrix... quite disturbing actually that S/Hr is actually the most popular ship among my friends! blush.gif
Ravenclaw(d69)
My dad has recently become a huge H/HR shipper before the release of OOTP the movie. Its so funny that cause he doesnt even read the books but loves the story. But he can see how R/HR works.

By the way? What happend with the forums?
Pippa
All of my family and all of my friends ship H/Hr. biggrin.gif I'm lucky.
xoapadani
my sister just finished DH and was putting it to my face that my ship would never sail...
i just told her "you have your ship i have mine, you can't convert me... and i won't try to convert you, so stop it"
she just shut it for a minute and then started talking about how ron and hermione deserved eachother and i excused myself to go and pretend to throw up... geez i already claimed peace and she is rubbing it to my face....
while i like it when my "brother" (i don't really have one but he is like my brother) comes over and defends me about Harry and hermione...
but my sister and i do agree that ginny just came out of nowhere... rolleyes.gif
my other sister could care less about it and just goes with canon
chin06
My mom told me H/Hr weren't meant for each other at all because she finds H/Hr weird. I thought my brother had a soft spot for H/Hr but he laughed in my face when he read the ending.. he really didn't care at all. My dad hates HP. My cousins go with the flow in canon. My little girl cousin who loves Hp is Dramione shipper. Well, my uncle ships H/Hr but well, i guess I have to break it to him sadly that it never was gonna happen in canon... sad.gif
CarolineD.
My mom, younger sister, my sister in law and maybe my brother thinks H/hr 'are cute together'

and rest don't know..
reptilia28
My Mom casually asked why Harry didn't ask Hermione out while we were watching Goblet of Fire one day (leading me to a fairly long rant about the shipping wars), my second cousin supports Harry/Ginny (and presumably, Ron/Hermione), another distant cousin laughed at me when I said I supported H/Hr, so I'm assuming he doesn't support it and the rest of my family (I assume) don't read HP.
krisharose
Just finished watching OotP with the fam. Mom was next to me and whispered "So does the loony girl steal Harry from Hermione?"

I didn't have the heart to crush her hopes of believable romance.... innocent.gif

I was just talking to my friend (who's not a fan) about Harry Potter and she said out of nowher "A Lot of people said that the epilogue of the last book was reeeeeally bad." And I was like "YES!! It WAS! Good job!"
Libra
My friend who's not a big HP fan still prefers H/Hr. She says they make more sense as a couple tongue.gif

She hasn't read any of the books but based on all the HP movies she's watched she thinks H/Hr seem to have a special connection and that it'll be H/Hr in the end. Yes.....I haven't told her yet because if I did she's not going to watch the rest of the movies mellow.gif

Oh and my sis....she's really not into HP but she watches the movies. Anyway....when I got the book she immediately read the last chapter as in the epilogue and she hated it. Normally she would give me hints as to what's going to happen later in the books but this time she just kept quite while I was jumping around the house saying it's going to end H/Hr. Well.....now I know why......

Yeah but even she thinks it should have been Harry and Hermione getting together in the end smile.gif

haha i know my friend said the same thing!
i was like totally... and then she made a comment about how ron should have gotten with luna and harry hermione made sense... and i was like shocked cause i didn't know she paid attention or read the books... she kind of keeps to herself
i was so proud of her

Well to be honest my friends and family are a mixed bag of shipping preferences.
My best friend is a Choco fan *shakes fist* but she wanted R/Lu with absolutely no prompting from me I swear!! She reckons Ron should get with Luna, Harry with Ginny and Hermione with Krum. Yeah she's crazy tongue.gif
My parents are with me, Harmony all the way though they say they want OBHWF just to annoy me.
A few of my other friends (that are fans) are Harmony shippers but a good lot of them are Herons too. It's given a good few lively discussions wink.gif

I'm working on my best friend tongue.gif

LMAO! They just think I'm crazy for obsessing over something like this...apparently its really 'silly' but...as much as they tease me for it...and torment me with the Heron-like taunts I know they don't want R/Hr together. tongue.gif Hehehehe...

lets just say my dad is r/hr ( crazy.gif ) andthen my mom used to ship h/hr but switched afte goblet of fire (the book). I am a loner.
HGP
Well, my dad never talks about it, but I know, that he thinks, that H/Hr makes the most sense. My mum asked me after I read DH, that with who Harry did get together. I was pretty depressed about it, so I kept quiet and she started guessing. First she said Hermione. I was like, well, seems, that it's a family problem, but said 'no'. When I said it was Ginny, she asked "Ginny who?" I actually laughed out loud.

My best friend thinks I'm crazy. She even doesn't have anything against H/Hr. She reads the books, but doesn't ship anything. She's just happy with canon. Anyway, she just doesn't understand, how I can be obsessed with something so 'silly', like she says. But I like annoying her. I plan on wearing my new "I ship H/HR, deal with it!" shirt next time I see here twisted.gif .

Anyway, others just don't care or don't know, so it's pretty quiet here.
H E Granger
Until now I was the only H/Hr shipper around here. But after reading the epilogue one of my friends quit OBHWF and boarded the HMS Harmony.
Proves that the epilogue really was bad.

When my mon saw the first movie, at the part when Harry goes on looking for Quirrel and Hermione recites her famous "Oh Harry, you're such a great wizard" speech, my mom said "wow, she's really crazy about him, isn't she?" I think I actually squeaked and started clapping at the comment.

However, as the books -and movies- progressed, I became the only true Harmonian. On one of my rants about just how stupid HBP had been, my parents said "You know why Harry and Hermione will never get together? Because they are just too perfect together. So perfect that it'll never happen." But they admitted that they didn't like the idea of Ron and Hermione.

So I guess that, except for my brother who doesn't give a fig about shipping, in my family we're all pretty delusional. cool.gif

my sister goes with the flow of the story...but she rubbed it in my face when Ron/Hermione happened (i thought she wanted Luna/Ron)

My other sister copies everything I do, so she wants Harry and Hermione, Draco and Ginny

My brother is a Harry/Hermione fan

My father thinks that harry and hermione make more sense...and Ron's a jerk.

my mother, thinks Harry/Hermione Emma/Dan are cute together...she's never read the books or seen the movies though.

And my best friend (not a harry fan at all) thinks Emma and Dan will get together and she was disappointed for me when H/Hr didn't happen.
Glassesfreak206
In all honesty, my parents and siblings are not at all involved in the Harry Potter...world, at all. In fact, I often find myself victim to their irritating questions.
"Who was Dumbledore?"
"Lily? Is that Ron's sister?"
"Is the series over yet?"

Ahh, you can't ask for too much, I suppose.
As for my friends, I seem to have accidentally paired myself up with those who do read and watch the series but only select few taking it further. I've two friends who are both Dramoine shippers and one, a hardcore RonHermione shipper, although she isn't quite as present in the internet world.
*Sigh* Such a shame. None of them know what they're missing.
Ravenclaw(d69)
My last boyfriend wasnt too into Harry Potter he just watched the movies with me. But he thought that it would only be right for Harry to end up with "The Hot One" which he said could only be Hermione (Emma). So I guess that made him a Harry/Hermions shipper! tongue.gif
Delusional&&Proud
well my mom already knew i was a fan of Harry Potter. because i was clearly addicted to it LOL. But she didn't know i was a H/Hr shipper. When i told her she was like "well aren't they supposed to be together?" then i told her aboutt the shipping wars and the possibility of R/Hr and H/G. but she was like "well it HAS to be Harry and Hermione!" and after that i couldn't stop smiling LOL.

and last night at our christmas party, my cousin and i started talking about books and then we stumbled upon Harry Potter. He said he only read books 1-3. and then i told him that Love was basically the key topic and he was like "really? i couldn't tell". then i asked him who he thought Harry would end up with. He said Hermione. i told him H/G and R/Hr were canon and then he said something that really made me soo happy. he said "but even if harry is with her, hes still thinking about Hermione" i screamed "yeah!! i know!".

i know what some of you are thinking "he probably thinks that because he watches the movies" well my cousin only watched the first one and the rest he didn't.

I am such a coward...

See, I hardly discuss shipping out in the open world, believing that people will give me the eye or the classic "It's just a book, hun." But I think it's safe to say that I got interested in the book mainly because of HHr. I read the 2nd book first (hated it, probably because I didn't like the hint of chocolate). Then I discovered that HHr makes a better couple and I like it now... rolleyes.gif What can I say? Need to keep the romance alive!

My first HHr friend, Megha got me into HHr intensely. When we use to chat, it would be our fave fanfics and all about HHr. Otherwise, I hardly ship with anyone else, but almost everyone I know, all my friends at least (there are 25 of them who I know loves romance in HP, excluding my friend Megha), and out of 25 people, all of them think HHr except one, who is HG. They're not obsessed about it (except the HG one), but yeah, when we got into a shipping war she asked my friends their opinion and they all said HHr! thumbup.gif

Yeah, and my parents? My dad doesn't give a fig about HP. rolleyes.gif He doesn't have an inkling. My mom has an inkling, however, and she thinks Ron's a jerk (she saw the fourth movie - I felt that an understatement, poor Hermione! She said it best "If a guy ever treated me like that I wouldn't even be friends with him! Selfish, that's what he is! Ruining her evening like that". No, she isn't a feminist, she's a romantic - like me!) My sister likes to tease me about HHr, although she too likes it, but she pretends to be Heron to annoy me... SuperAngry.gif But she hates the idea of HG, absolutely to te extent she doesn't even think it could happen... tongue.gif

I had the weirdest thing happen yesterday, I got OOTP on DVD from my parents for Xmas and we decided to watch it late last night. They both have watched all the films before and have never once mentioned the shipping aspects etc... but soon as Harry started having his little moments with Cho they both looked at me in total confusion and asked "but doesn't he like Hermione???"

I was like thumbup.gif I knew my parents would see it the same way as I do, they have exactly the kind of H/Hr relationship I see as real love, not that bickering crap (they've been married nearly 30 years).

They ended up even more confused when I explained no and that Harry ends up with Ginny (they both had no clue who she was by name) until I explained Rons red haired little sister. My mum especially thought Hermione ending up with Ron was stupid and unrealistic haha! If the movies are supposed to forshadow whats to come - especially for non-HP book fans, they've done as crap a job at it as JKR did in the books. The characters have grown from what JKR originally planned... HBP movie will see the start of the character butchering to squeeze them into the box JK was determined they'd be in.
castsomelight
My mother and I were watching Goblet of Fire the other day, and we got to the First Triwizard Task, with the Dragon. Hermione starts her scream-cheering/clapping like a maniac, worried!face in full affect, and my mother is like,"Oh, tell me she didn't love him. Seriously. There's no way in hell she didn't love him." I was like, "Word."

Then we got to the Yule Ball...you know the part. When she comes down the stairs and he stares at her in awe. And my mother is like, "I don't know what the hell she (JKR) was thinking. I can't believe she ends up with Ron, and Harry with whats-her-face." Bravo, Mom.

She's read all the books, and needless to say she was/is a Harry/Hermione shipper. She didn't mind the R/Hr in DH, but mostly because she was so sad over all the death and crap that happened that she was glad for any small bit of happiness for anyone. But then that wore off and she's just like, WTF?, and rightly so.

I converted my best friend to H/Hr when I first met her about 6 years ago. She had no preference at the time, but I was like, "Does Ron and Hermione make sense?" and she was like "Not really" and I just smiled.
My mom is an H/Hr shipper. I have no idea how it came up but I remember after OotP(book) came out her saying something along the lines of "Harry and Hermione are obvious. Right?" I laughed so hard at that. She had no idea. heart.gif

My mom and sister both love RHR and HG. I don't talk about the books with them, because they enjoyed all of them and honestly, it's like impossible to persuade them.

My friends all believe in RHR and H/G, and one of them D/HR.

My cousins either don't read the books, or think I'm going to H*e*l*l because I do. Well, that and because I'm a Jew.

And most of my internet buddies also support canon couples. It makes me sad, to talk to anyone about HHR, I have to go here. Not that going here is a problem, I just wish there was someone in real life...or at least on my aim list.

On the "Jew" note: If you ever feel offended by what anyone says on that or any other topic...call me and I'll hit whoever said what. Uhkay? Uhkay.
Whether religion, race, creed, tradition...etc (provided that those things aren't meant to hurt anyone...etc), i have no room for intollerance... Why, it's just SILLY. Silly, I tell you! ...honestly: "If you don't have anything nice..."

Two of my friends hoped that Harry and Hermione would get together and I hugged them for it. (I was so excited that I knew people like me...) They both agreed that Harry and Hermione had a stronger relationship and that the other ones just didn't have the support in...plot.
I'm the only one (except for my sister, who appreciates it, but isn't a 'die hard' fan) in my family who loves the books enough to mutter minor Potter's references and chuckle with myself.
I'm the only one who read the books (except for my sister...who started on Six, went to Two, then One, than Seven...) in my family.

In my country, 95% of HP readers don't care about pairing but (pre-HBP) if they were asked Harry will marry who? about 85% will say 'HERMIONE', including my younger brother, younger sister, and my girlfriend (hey, i'm a BOY, you know...)

My girlfriend ships slash pairings such as Harry/Draco and the twincest (Fred/George). That's why she was very disappointed with DH... Fred killed, of course... And she hates the crapilogue too. She also dislikes H/Hr but comment on it: "It's the most REALISTIC pairing in the whole series" even after DH was released....

hello...well to start, first, my dad and best friend's a true harmonian since they watched all of the Harry Potter series... second, my aunt watched all of the Harry Potter series and then i told her what happened in DH, and she kept asking me who Ginny was and she told me that Harry and Hermione should be together! she said "who the h*ll is Ginny?! I thought Harry and Hermione are gonna get married!" and stuff that goes along with that line...and then my mom, she used to be a harmonian and then when we watched OOTP and saw Ginny, my mom said she's pretty and powerful because of that stinking Reducto spell she made...and I was like "WTF?!" but I'm not that angry with mom...I'm just depressed.

I've been hanging out with most of my cheerleading buddies and basketball firends the past couple of days (we were the only poor souls on campus for a few days). And me and the grls were talking about love and being bitter (b/c we were watching a Walk to Remamber and not believing that their are guys like that in real life..yea we were ignored by the boys...and they left to go to McDonalds) And I told them that I was depressed bc my fav couple in HP didn't get together and they asked me who that was. And i told them Harry and Hermione didn't get ogether. And to my surprise...they were shocked and confessed to e that they'd read or had HP read to them...up to like book 4 (when the pairings were aparently so obvious)and saw up to movie 3...they all thought that H/hr were gonna get together. *shrugs* I guess the pairings weren't so obvious whistling.gif
