Summary: It's a week after Christmas, and it's time for a delayed Weasley Celebration.
"You can't possibly expect me to wear that." Said Draco Malfoy as his wife Ginny, showed him a red and gold sweater with a big ‘D’ on it.
Ginny pouted, “Draco I know it’s not your colors…” started Ginny, before Draco interrupted her.
“Gin, its red and gold!” shouted Draco “We both know how I feel about those colors.” Ginny sighed, and sat on the bed with the offending sweater. “I’m not wearing that…that thing.” He hadn’t lost the Malfoy pride.
“Draco, my mother made it for you, for Christmas. She knows you’ll only wear it once, and it’s going to be today when we take the big Weasley family picture.” Said Ginny, She began playing with the collar. She didn’t look at him, just the single loose thread. “Please, it would mean a lot.” She looked up at him and gave him her best puppy dog pout, her blue eyes looking almost on the verge of tears.
“Fine,” he said rolling his eyes. She jumped up and hugged him before shoving the sweater in his hands. “We can charm this right?” She nodded, before waving her wand and changing the red and gold to emerald green and sliver.
“Happy?” she asked, holding the new colored Weasley sweater.
“Yes, very” he said, taking the sweater from her. “We can burn this when we get home, right?” She kissed him, gently.
“Of course,” she said when the kiss had finished. “Now get dressed while I get breakfast.” She turned and left him in the bedroom. She closed the door and heard Draco mutter something about her whole family being crazy. She laughed and left to see a house elf about pancakes. About ten minutes later Ginny was eating pancakes in the kitchen.
“Gin, why are you eating pancakes?” asked Draco as he walked into the kitchen and he sat on a stool next to her at the island.
“It’s breakfast time and I’m hungry.” Said Ginny, simply before hitting him on the shoulder. She laughed, as Draco rubbed his arm. “I like the sweater, it looks good.” Draco snorted, causing Ginny to laugh.
Draco glared at her before speaking “The sweater itches, a lot. We are most defiantly burning it when we get home.” Said Draco, Ginny nodded and tried to stop from laughing.
“Draco, you can be such a baby sometimes.” Said Ginny, finally caving into her laughter. Draco rolled his eyes, and mumbled something under his breath questioning his marriage to Ginny.
“Will we be leaving anytime soon?” asked Draco, he seemed to be almost pleading. Ginny smirked, and raised an eye brow in question. “I want to get it over with as quick as possible.” Ginny continued smirking. “Could you stop using my smirk against me!”
She laughed “Just admit it, you like my family no matter how annoying you say they are.” She said, still smirking slightly.
“I despise your family, it’s only you I like.” Said Draco, he was about to kiss her when he noticed she wasn’t wearing a monstrosity of a sweater. “Gin, aren’t we all supposed to wear these sweaters?”
“I don’t have one that fits.” She said “mum said it was okay if I didn’t. Hermione wasn’t going to wear one either.”
“Granger isn’t part of your family,” said Draco, nor did he want to be related to the Potters.
“Mum considers Harry as another son, in a way. So when they got married, in a way Hermione became an honorary Weasley, like Harry.” Said Ginny, as though it was the easiest thing on the planet.
“I still don’t get any of that, but you never told me when we were leaving on the adventure” Said Draco.
“Noon” said Ginny, Draco’s head fell. It was in less then ten minutes. “Stop being such a spoiled prat.”
“I’m not being a spoiled prat, I’m just afraid of your brothers. Now that their all in one place, they’re probably plotting how to kill me as we speak.” Said Draco smugly, Ginny just nodded humoring her husband.
“Why didn’t they kill you a year ago?” asked Ginny, patting his shoulder. “Eat something, so we can leave.” She pushed a plate full of food in front of him.
Silence settled over the house as Draco ate. Ginny read the newspaper on the couch. Draco ate the food, while pondering things. He was wondering why they where having Christmas, a week later. That confused him to no extent. Ginny had said it was because, no one was around for Christmas. They were all over the place, Bill in Egypt with Fleur, Charlie in Romania, and Ginny and himself where out of town in Pairs. So they were having Christmas in January when everyone happened to be in town. Draco wasn’t even sure why he married Ginny, knowing about her weird family. “Draco,” said Ginny, starling Draco from his thoughts.
“What?” he asked, she smiled as his plate flew to the sink and began to clean itself.
“Sorry to interrupt your thoughts but, my family is waiting to kill you.” Said Ginny, trying to contain her laughter.
“Gin, that’s not funny…” said Draco as he began to lecture her, she interrupted.
“It’s hilarious,” Said Ginny, Draco frowned and she stopped laughing “I know you’re worried, but they won’t hurt you unless you plan on breaking my heart. Though last tine I checked we had passed that phase.” He nodded.
*At the Burrow*
“Okay, on the count of seven say, Cheese!” said Mr. Weasley, after Hermione had taught him how to set the self timer on the camera. “1…2…3…4…5…6…7!” He ran to the front of the camera as he counted.
“Cheese!” they all said as the camera flashed and took the picture. They soon all dispersed to talk and enjoy the food. Ron was talking about how weird it was.
“I mean, why did we say cheese, when we didn’t see any?” asked Ron, Hermione patted his shoulder.
“It’s something muggle, you’ll never be able to understand.” She said before leaving to talk with Ginny. “Hey Ginny” Ginny turned, and hugged Hermione.
“Hello Hermione,” said Ginny “How have you been?” Hermione laughed.
“Since work yesterday?” asked Hermione, Ginny laughed it was a wonderful perk about working at the same office as Hermione. They saw each other, everyday day almost. “Fine, all the normal stuff that comes with being pregnant, how have you been?”
“Wonderful, though it took forever to get Draco to where the sweater.” Said Ginny, Hermione nodded.
“I don’t blame him.” Said a voice, Hermione turned to see Harry. She smiled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
“He hates his so much he wants to burn it when he gets home.” Said Ginny, Hermione and Harry started laughing.
“Don’t let you’re Mum hear that.” Said Harry, Ginny nodded.
“I had to change it green before he would wear it,” Said Ginny. They stayed around talking, laughing and eating food until the late night. When Ginny and Draco arrived home, Draco had a house elf light a fire.
Ginny sat on the couch, watching a Draco put the sweater on a stick and then into the fire. It looked as through he was roasting marshmallows. It had been a few minutes when Draco pulled out the charred stick. The sweater sat on the end, perfectly fine only covered with some soot. Draco sat sadly on the ground looking at the sweater. “Gin, she knew I would want to burn and then charmed it not to burn.” He said sadly. Ginny sat next to him in front of the fire.
“Draco it’s almost midnight. Why don’t we go to bed and try in the morning?” asked Ginny, kindly knowing that this was the only thing he was looking forward too. He nodded, and stood up and walked up stairs. They left the fire to be put out by the house elves and the sweater was most likely to be cleaned and placed on Draco’s dresser the next morning.
