Well, mine is quite simple actually. It's just the words I-am together.

My username is who and what I am... Or at least what I strive to be.
Fairycat
Jan 2 2008, 08:51 AM
Hmmm I think I have answered this before but I am too lazy to look. So just for fun I will tell you what my username means again. But take care!!! The logic behind the name is so profound that it is known to make people's head explode by the sure genius of it all. You have been warned!
I like Fairies and I like Cats......hence the name Fairycat
Pure genius.
harry-mione
Jan 2 2008, 12:25 PM
Okay, for those of you who fail to comprehend the sheer cunning behind my name.... I ship Harry and Hermione, and HHr4ever was already taken, so I just typed Harry-mione. xD
Brilliant, isn't it?
Rose Potter
Jan 11 2008, 08:14 PM
Me? I want the only Rose we knew in HP series become part of Potter family... Not to mention taht I hope she's actually Harry's daughter...
oh_dang87
Jan 11 2008, 11:15 PM
Mine comes from a saying me and friends said in high school when we wanted to appear more lady-like and not use that sailor talk we were so prone to using. We came up with other words to use in place of our beloved curse words....Oh Dang was our fav (to replace f*ckin-A...because we liked to edit out the lesser of the curse words...go figure)...it actually became an inside joke...and we used it for everything...mostly sarcasm. And lastly, I was born in 1987...hence the name Oh_Dang87!
Ravenclaw(d69)
Jan 12 2008, 12:09 PM
This was an old username I used to use. Ravenclaw...pretty simple. The d69 is a tag that members of the December 1969 message board club used. There's a whole story that some here may be fammiliar with.
One day Jamandall (real name James) was looking through the Mugglenet news archives. While browsing around he saw a link right above November 2004 that said December 1969. He thought that was odd and clicked on it. Inside he found an empty message bored. He gave hints around to some people on how to find it and they soon formed a club, and to show their membership they used the tag 'D69'. Emerson after a while deleted it but faithful members made a new forum and new site for themselves. The whole d69 is pretty much over now it was really dumb anyway. But I still keep in contact with the few members who stuck with the new forum, and they are really good friends.

Lady Whitehart
Jan 28 2008, 02:08 PM
Lady because I'm a girl... er, woman.
Whitehart for Lily's (and now Snape's) Patronus, which I've had in mind since 2004, thank you. So in case you were wondering, yes, I was very much into Severus/Lily at least being friends.
Link to original icon.
Chasm!
Feb 9 2008, 07:54 PM
My username, Chasm, is short for one of my characters on a bazillion Warriors RPGs. Her original name was Chasmfur, and Chasmstar on a few sites. She's my favorite character, ever. She's pretty cool- all secretive, defensive, and moody. I don't even remember how the hell I thought up the name, hehe.
ProfessorRaptor
Feb 21 2008, 12:32 AM
Mine comes from an OC whowas co-created by my brother and I. Though my brother seems to use him more actively than me. Professor Raptor happens to be a regular at my brothers fics.
igorah
Feb 21 2008, 02:45 PM
Erm, mine's pretty simple
I went through a phase of saying "rah" a lot
So basically "I go rah" -> igorah
PJlikesAUfanfic
Feb 22 2008, 03:13 PM
I ended up with my username because the registration thingy would not accept the one I use on the PK reviews which is PJ*space* so it just looks like "PJ" I tried about 11 different ways for making up a username but the registration thingy didn't like any of them except the PJlikesAUfanfic which was the last one of course
Since I'm so delusional, being that I am a hard core H/Hr shipper to the death, I honestly believe the official HP series ended on the last page of book 5 therefore for me, the ending of of the story, in my opinion, has to be AU in accordance with the 'official canon' crapologue so: I like AU fanfic. The more delusionally AU it is, the better it is in my opinion especially if it is H/Hr and the 'in your face JKR' H/Hr that uses real canon from books 1 to 5 to support the logical conclusion to what the real ending of the series should have been. I like it when authors take on the task of re-writing and doing the series proper justice with no plot holes, logical plot flow, characters stay in character and faithful to books 1 to 5 which are H/Hr leaning.
Would have been easier if the registration thingy accepted my PJ*space* huh?
Greymalkin
Feb 23 2008, 06:25 AM
Mine just comes from the name of the witches' familiar in Macbeth. What can I say? I love Shakespeare and the name seemed fitting

The Nightingale
Jun 12 2008, 03:39 PM
It is taken from the poem 'Ode to a Nightingale'.
One of my favourite poems!
Louielacious
Jun 14 2008, 05:38 AM
Louie is my nickname out here in the real world, but I thought Louie on its own sounded boring so I added the 'acious' to make it sound more 'bodacious' ... true story
Cerea
Jun 15 2008, 05:55 PM
George Lucas created a utopian planet named Cerea, it was, and still is, a place I would love to be. hence my name.
Viper714
Jun 16 2008, 09:57 PM
As my icon shows, "Viper" is short for Colonial Viper, as in the fighter planes seen in Battlestar Galactica. 714 comes from N714AJ (read: November-seven-one-four-Alpha-Juliett) which was the registry number of the first airplane I ever soloed in.
Liz A. Prongs
Jun 16 2008, 11:45 PM
Hehe I personally love names. Rachel A. Prongs is one of my less inventive ones to be honest.
Rachel (while sounding straightforward) is not my real name, but the name of a character in the book series Animorphs (I loved that series back then, and Rachel was awesome)
A. is for Acorna - if anyone reads Anne McAffery you know who she is. The unicorn girl from space.
Lastly Prongs sounded good as a last name.
So Rachel Acorna Prongs, one name from each of my favourite books.
Cullen
Jun 22 2008, 03:58 AM
I wasn't feeling to inventive but... I love the Twilight series just as much as HP and well... if you read Twilight you know what I'm talking about... Edward Cullen, possibly the greatest effing man to walk this earth
Foever-in-Harmony
Jul 22 2008, 12:11 PM
Mine is kinda self-explanitory...I will forever ship Harmony, ther for Forever-in-Harmony is just sheer brilliance. On my part...
Fire
Jul 26 2008, 09:55 PM
Absolutely pointless really - see when I signed up I wasn't really thinking about it and I just typed in fire because I like it it's yeah I just like it. Nothing really behind it

At that time I was doing some writing and it had to do with elements and my favourite was/is fire so I'm like why not? It's cool so
fire it was. And it's simple to type out

Genius ay? LOL!

But end everything with my name, just do like this *points below*
xoxo

Marcella

I'm writing a book and one of my stories I have an alterego named Marcella.
Potter&Granger88
Sep 8 2008, 02:05 PM
Mine is pretty much self-explanatory. The surname of our wonderful ship, Harry
Potter and Hermione
Granger. Potter and Granger belong together and I didn't want a HHR name that's comman like 'foreverHHR' or 'harmonyluver' (although they do sound nice...

) haha. But funny enough I never see anyone use Potter and Granger so I decided to! And 88 is the year I was born- 1988.
Now you know!
TrueLoveFan
Sep 10 2008, 10:31 AM
Mine is rather simple.
TrueLoveFan
I am a fan of true love and, though is not really important to my answer, I believe all my ships (cannon or not) are true love.

Sep 11 2008, 06:09 PM
Well, I think its pretty obvious...
At that time, I was making fun at being called delusional. You can only make jokes out of these things...

my username stands for 'Bellatrix Lestrange' fan. Obviously that means I'm a Bella Lestrange fan, and a Helena Bonham Carter one as well
Candra
Nov 10 2008, 07:52 AM
Candra is a version of the Hindi name Chandra and means "moon". I choose the nickname because of Lupin, who is my favourite Harry Potter character together with Hermione.
BL_Fan
Nov 11 2008, 04:58 PM
"Chandra" also means moon in urdu, but of course hindi and urdu are almost the same! I am just adding that because I, myself, speak urdu and I really like the name 'chandra' too.

I think Chandra is a very beautiful name, too. I just choose the spelling Candra because Chandra is also common as a male name and I didn't want to cause confusion. So I choose a spelling that's clearly female.
You speak urdu? Wow, that's cool. I neither speak hindi nor urdu, but names and their meanings are a hobby for me since I was a child, because my mother choose my name because of it's meaning.

Yes I speak urdu because my mother is pakistani and she she would always speak urdu to me when I was a child. From that, I learned how to speak it very well

. Me and my older sister are the only ones in our family, besides from my mother, that can speak fluent urdu
Salamon2
Feb 1 2009, 04:43 AM
My username? Let's see that goes back to my adolescent days *cringes* and when I first discovered Fanfiction.net. At the time I was very big into Digimon (I still like to peruse some Takari fanfiction every now and then) and being the overanxious young teen I was (god... that was about a decade ago...) I wanted to sign up for Fanfiction.net to write my own stories. However I needed a username. Since I was such a fan of Digimon I chose my favorite Digimon (which was only barely seen in the first two seasons) and combined it with my favorite number, the number 2.
I still have my profile over there, although ever since 2004 (when they stopped showing Digimion on Fox) my participation slowly dwindled until I basically abandoned the site. Sometimes I go back and reread some of the stuff I wrote and shake my head.
I basically use Salamon2 for every time I need a username. It's just become so natural to type. Although I have another username elsewhere that's little used, but I like to post fanfiction replies on PK with: Anonymonium.
That one I just decided to toy with the word Anonymous.
So yeah... that's me. I feel embarrassed now. I'm gonna go crawl back and hide under my lurking rock.

vanilla parchment
May 3 2009, 04:56 PM
It started with a cliche I kept coming across in some of the Harry/Hermione fan fiction I was reading-- for some reason, Hermione always smelled of vanilla. (Sadly, this is now my favorite scent ever.) And parchment... well, she's always in the library. I just put it together!
Polydicta
Jun 2 2009, 01:48 PM
Polydicta is a latin name meaning many speeches or many words.
Guess what? I talk a lot.
It was originally a pen name I used when writing "occult" references for a live role play group. It sounds vaguely magical, and I just happen to like it.
Certainly it's better than some of the nicknames I've been given by students over the years.
<hugs>

Pamina
Jun 8 2009, 07:12 AM
My name is the female heroine in the opera The Magic Flute by Mozart. It is an opera that I loved from when I was a child, and when I was a real hard-core shipper and lived for coming up with theories as for why H/Hr should be, I thought they were a good parallell to Tamino and Pamina - AND JKR uses a lot of the same symbols and plot-elements that are in the opera in her books, so I really thought she was inspired by it. Now I don't think so anymore, sadly. Perhaps her books could have benefitted from it.
JJQuill
Jun 8 2009, 11:40 PM
Mine's JJQuill because of my initials and hobby. J's my first initial in my real name, and I love it so much. JJ if you double my nickame and use the initials.
And then Quill because that's what Hogwarts students use for writing. And I love expressing ideas in words. That simple.
cakeandmilk
Jun 22 2009, 07:44 PM
cakeandmilk....
hmm....
let me think. Well, I love cake and I love milk. Bring them together and viola! You have me, ladies and gentlemen!
Oh yeah, usually, when i create usernames and stuff, i always try to bring my name or nickname with it. but i would like to retain a bit of anonymity with PK so, i picked the name that has a, shall we say, less connection with me.

Genius, eh?
Also, I wrote a fic entitled 'Cake and Milk' as well. So, that helped too.
owanapotter4567
Jun 26 2009, 08:57 AM
owana potter is the name of my OC. I made her up when I was nine and she's stuck with me ever since. The girl in my icon looks like how I would imagine her to be (Owana got her blonde hair from Petunia or something. I wanted her to be different from what many people think of when they say James and Lily's daughter; a girl with red hair and hazel eyes. Owana has blonde hair and her mother's emerald eyes. Lol, I'm such a dork) I dunno why I put numbers beside her name. I just felt like it. And as the words under my icons says, she's Harry's long lost twin sister^^
hpdreamer500
Jul 11 2009, 04:39 PM

skywalker girl
Jul 18 2009, 06:42 AM
As an original Star Wars fan, while everyone else was in love with Han Solo, I was more inclined to be Luke Skywalker's girl.

Midnghtr72
Sep 10 2009, 12:59 AM
Midnghtr72 came along as my screen name for two different reasons, firstly after a book series called Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld, and secondly because I work the night shift and am frequently walking around all night long. 72 is simply my lucky number.
