Previous Thread Next ThreadOkay, basically, like the title. A list of flags that show just how obsessed with Harmony you are. Add on your own, and see how many we can get!

1) You find yourself comparing your relationships to Harmony.
2) You're always on the look out for a dark haired man and brown haired woman as you go out on your errands.
3) As you listen to the radio, its been known for you to shout out "That's so H/Hr!" when a particular song comes on. As a result, the surrounding people may think you have Tourette's Syndrome.
4) When Ford (was it? or was it chevy?) came out with the HHR, you went nuts.
5) You get a goofy grin on your face every time the commercial for eHarmony.com comes on.
6) You've picked out names, genders, and personalities of all H/Hr kids
7) You've planned their wedding.
8) You've subjected innocent people on the street to your shipping preference reasons.
9) You never used to like pumpkin pie until you shipped Harmony
10) Your cumiliative record of fanfiction/essays on Harmony rivals the size of Ootp

Okay, now it's your turn....

GUILTY! It's the first question I ask when I find new people who like the HP series. New friends, my dog's vet, (who has 2 cats - Hagrid and Hermione), a lady at the mall the other day On a side note, my puppy was born on July 31st. Almost died when I found out!
Hmmm...how am I obsessed with Harmony?
- Visiting PK no less than 4 times a day
- constantly reading fan-fiction

I'm guilty of the following:

Dreaming about Harry & Hermione.

Highlighting all the H/Hr moments in my books

Re-reading the books over and over again to find even more H/Hr

Spending hours researching hippogriffs, golden chains, Hermione, & Harry

Watching the movies and pausing all H/Hr scenes

Squeeing every time Harry and Hermione hug, touch, kiss, talk in the books and movies

Drooling over H/Hr avatars and photos

Reading essays supporting H/Hr more times than necessary

Poring over JKR's interviews looking for clues, and reading her favorite books (Emma, TLWH)
...I'm sure I can think of some more.

Contrary to popular belief I don't squee everytime I see a harmony hug or kiss (what am I saying? Yes, I do!)
And its not our fault the avatars and photos are soooo good!!

When at the end of the first book, you see Harry and Hermione at the end of the series married with seven children.

Exactly. Wishing anybody death is just plain crazy and uneducated. But I do hate the guy and wish him alot of bad luck in his life. First and foremost, Harmony happening in book 7. I don't think Harry and Hermione getting together itself is actually going to devastate him. What makes it so bad for him is that he's prematruely stated that H/Hr is "not cannon" and he's made immense fun of us. I'm male and my family knows I'm a shipper. Then again, my mom writes romance novels, so that's hardly the most embarrassing thing for me.
Aggroskater
Dec 10 2006, 04:07 PM
Well, Im male and my family is VERY aware of my shipping preferences. Granted, mom doesn't write romance novels, but she recently got divorced. To put it lightly, it was a "perfect" R/H style relationship. And she agrees wholeheartedly with me that H/H is the REAL true love. And so this personal experience only makes me more confident about H/H.
And as for the me versus 8 R/H shippers, true or no? More like 4 people actually coming up with the facts, and the other 4 simply repeating those facts, but yes, true. It was on the WB forums ages ago. I believe one other person came in to back me up a bit later. Essentially, it was the same "obvious" lines and how "Hermione is like Harry's Mom" arguments. I liked to bring up the point that Hermione was "motherlike" towards Ron as well, and the arguments went round from there.
However, I got banned from the WB forums for embeding my own HTML into my posts (for funny videos and music, etc), and for bringing up the fact that this ability could effectively allow me to gain control of the server if I embeded the right scripts into the post. They weren't happy about my awareness of this, and so, I got banned. Rather than thanking me for bringing the flaw to their attention, they banned me (and its not the first time thats happened with me and computers). Im pretty sure they patched the holes though. Hopefully before some blackhat got to them.

I'm a guy and granted I'm older and out of the house, but I can usually talk about s** and other things with my mom. Heck, my senior year in high school I was able to do that! Through these little chats I've discovered some things about my parents that I wouldn't have known otherwise (the fact that my Dad has a b***** obession, which I find quite pointless). And thinking back on conversations where my mother complained about problems with men in general, all of the times she was talking about things she had "seen on judge shows" she was actually using as a way of complaining about my dad, which I pointed out to her, and she admitted to.
Yeah my parents have the R/Hr type of relationship. Would have ended years ago had my mother not gotten bedridden.
That's one thing about R/Hr having a kid, both would fight over the kid and use them as a sounding board for the problems in their own relationship. Or in otherwords the kid would act like the adult, mediating between the parents, while the parents acted like bickering little kids.

You know you're obsessed with H/Hr when...
1 You spend every available moment either reading H/hr fanfiction, writing H/Hr fanfiction or talking about H/Hr
2 Whenever you see the Livestrong style wristbands for sale you look for one in orange that says Harmony
3 You have researched on the internet how you could make a livestrong style wristband in orange that says Harmony
4 You have bought an army camoflage t-shirt painted the word Delusional across the front, two pumpkins on one sleeve and Harmony on the other & Portkey.com across the back
5 You wear said t-shirt in public whenever possible
6 You become angry & irrational if anyone calls you delusional
7 You find the word "anvils" hysterically funny
8 You are constantly on the look out for men who bear any passing resembelance to what you think Harry may look like when he's older and any woman who is pretty and has bushy hair
9 Whenever you see a woman who is pretty and has busy hair you accidentally say "SEE" outloud because you think other people in the vicinity need to know that Hermione is pretty and this woman prooves it.
10 Whenever you hear a couple bickering in a way that is remeniscent of R/Hr you tell whoever is standing next to you that this is a perfect example of why R&Hr would never work as a couple
11 Whenever you hear about two best friends becoming a couple you tell whoever is standing next to you that this is proof conclusive that H/Hr were ment to be.
12 You find out someone you know is a Heron (though they may not even know what the term means) and instantly you loose a bit of respect for them as they clearly have a warped idea of what love is.
13 You constantly point out examples in the people you know of why R/Hr wouldn't work to the above person to try and subvert their faith in R/Hr
14 You are dissapointed when the R/Hr person doesn't understand what you are trying to do and doesn't see the relation to HP
15 You only visit HP related sites that are also H/Hr sites because you can't stand listening to/reading a Heron bias.
16 You read a thread about signs that your obsessed with H/Hr and you have to acknowledge that you are guilty of everyone of them and then some.

Now that one is probably true to the word!
I am a blabbermouth when it comes to shipping too. Me and my best friend go at it constantly whenever Harry Potter comes up LOL Not to mention my parents are often at the end of a long triade of how awful R/Hr is. Although I have to admit I have calmed down in the last year or so. Somehow it doesn't seem as important to be right anymore.
I think I am lucky in that I believe that my parents are the perfect picture of how Harry and Hermione would be in marriage. I see a few peeps on here saying how their parents were like R/Hr and they ended in divorce. My parents are so into each other even after all these years. LOL my dad says that my mom keeps his fires burning
It used to bother me and gross me out when my dad would say stuff like that but now I think it allows me to actually see how much they really do love each other. I'm thankful that I have had their example of love to follow and I think my own approach to love will be successful thanks to them. At least a small part anyway.
Gee Whiz........I never meant to get all mushy and stuff
