You know you're obsessed with H/Hr when:

-You are very grateful to have a sister and two good friends who are also H/Hr shippers and thus understand where you're coming from.
-You have had lengthy discussions about the amazingness of H/Hr and its superiority over other ships with said sister and friends.
-You have given two of them H/Hr fanfiction that you wrote as a present for birthday or Christmas, and they loved it.
-You used the word "delusional" in dinner conversation the other day and you met your Harmonian sister's gaze across the table and noticed her smiling at you in a knowing way.
-You made an entire AIM away message with things like "What the world needs is harmony" and "my delusions are better than any anvils anyway"

Yep, that's me. blush.gif Also the things about pumpkin pie stuff and the Chevy HHR..that's me too. And I probably spend too much time on Portkey...

Oh, yessss! Just found this thread again.

Here's more signs from me that I'm probably included in the 'Harry Potter-obsessed' group:

1. Pictures from Harry Potter movies are my slide shows for my screen saver; picture of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is on my desktop on my office PC, and a montage of Daniel Radcliffe's pictures is the desktop on my laptop.

2. Portkey is saved as my favourite site [I don't even visit other sites anymore].

3. Listening to songs, hoping they'd show HHr in their words [I love Salamon2 for creating theme songs in the 'How Lovely to be a Woman' thread in the HBP Complete Discussion Forum].

4. For the past many months, I've been wearing a bracelet that spell 'HARRY' and 'POTTER'. Being the Harry Potter lady is my identity among my circles now [in addition to being the champion Diablo player!]

With my warmest regards,
myforeverharry

Yeah, I hear you about visiting Portkey.

Thankfully, my line of employment permits me to be online my entire shift, so it must seem that I can answer posts 24/7. If that doesn't give the impression that I have no life, then I don't know what does. tongue.gif
MyForeverHarry
Oh, goodness, I just realise more signs I'm obsessed.

1. I have the name tag 'Harry' as the key chain to the keys to my car and house.

2. Harry's picture from GOF is the screen saver for my handphone. Pictures of Harry/Hermione and Dan/Emma are saved in my handphone, too [though there are photos of Draco and Cedric in there, too].

3. The other day, the head of law department was saying 'it's Harry/Ginny because he saved her in the Chamber of Secret!' and I go, 'Well, Harry saved Hermione from the troll in Philosopher's Stone and they bonded over it, becoming best friends and all, and there's absolutely no bonding between Harry and Ginny after her rescued her!' I tell you, it's always hard arguing with a lawyer, but on this point, I won! Now she says she's going to go back and re-read her Harry Potter books and look for HHr clues.

Warmest regards,
myforeverharry

Okay, now reasons...
  1. You see something at a store that pertains to H/Hr and you want to buy it.
  2. Whenever you read a new book or watch a movie, you look to see if its main couples resemble or act like HHr.
  3. You babble on and on and on (and on... etc...) about HHr to your little sister/brother (etc.) even though they're not paying attention.
  4. You think about HHr when you're at school, work, etc. and you can't NOT think about it.
  5. Most of your favorite songs are HHr related.
AND...

7) You've planned their wedding.[/quote]

You know you're obsessed when..

You, um, call your black-haired, bespectacled guy best friend by the name of Harry and his brown-haired, brown-eyed girlfriend Hermione.

*facepalm*

Thank goodness, they didn't catch on! Whew! They just looked kinda confused.

Wow, that is so, so cool. I wish I have a best friend who looks like Harry with a girlfriend who looks like Hermione, but sadly, no...

I, however, look like Harry. I have dark hair and wearing glasses. In the POA movie when Harry's glasses was knocked off by the swiping Whomping Willows, and Daniel Radcliffe squinted, that looked totally real! And this acting comes from a guy who doesn't wear glasses in real life, so I thought it was really good, really accurate. Coz that's how you look when you're shortsighted and your glasses has just been knocked off and you try to focus your eyesight.

I did have someone special who looked like Harry a few years ago - dark hair, wearing glasses, thick eyebrows, skinny - but it didn't work out. He just looked like Harry, but he was more Ron in personality. We would have killed each other if we had stayed together longer. Still, the breakup wasn't easy.

Anyway, since I look like Harry, maybe I should go look for a guy who looks like Hermione. Just for fun. tongue.gif

I tend to fall in love [in my head, of couse] with the HHr fan fiction writers who write wonderful HHr stories because their words seem to mirror my heart. I love Musca, Azure, Paracelsus, Parker Gray, Kate J and Amethyst. There are so many actually - can't list them all down.

LOL, I know exactly what you mean. I am totally smitten with Parker G. never mind the fact that I have no idea if they're even male or female, what their age is, etc. Although, I think he's a guy around 25 or 26...who knows? Eeeeew...I'm a fangirl! tongue.gif

BOT - you know you're obsessed when you visit PK SOOOO much that you know who people are just by their avatars...and if they change their avatars, you still know it's them by what they post! Guilty!

Wait, you mean Parker Gray is a guy? Wow, I have always thought he's a girl - I mean, the way he writes... it's like he has the heart of a girl... How could you not fall in love with someone like that? wub.gif

But I love them regardless of gender actually, coz this is a virtual world and I can imagine them as all guys, though I know Musca is a girl [she told me!] and Kate J is definitely a lady [I think she's married]. Azure is a guy whose name is Matt and Paracelsus is a guy. I love them all - because they touch my heart with their HHr stories and I dream of having beatiful love story for myself some day.

So, yeah, I'm obsessed with HHr - with the idea of having HHr type of love.

My warmest regards,

Ummm...no, I'm an idiot. She's a girl... just found out...

You know when you're obsessed...

When one of your favorite H/Hr songs comes on the radio/ipod/CD player and the entire song runs through your head complete with scenes from the movie... I really should lay off of youtube for a while...

Hmmm... my hubby kinda resembles Harry... he has blue eyes (like Dan in the movies) and really dark brown hair... of course, he's also tall and slender, so maybe not...

Yeah, I think if your performance were good, they probably can't do much to you. Actually, at my workplace, people don't care whether I were on the Internet all day or not. It's just that when I'm reading Portkey, I'm not doing my own work, which have this strange tendency to pile up if I ignore them... rolleyes.gif

The thing is, I can keep Portkey page on all day on my PC since when I do work, I use my laptop instead, but then, you know that cute Portkey logo? - Harry & Hermione in a kissing pose - now that's kind of 'embarrassing' if my work colleagues saw it. They'd be wondering what kind of sites I'm surfing! whistling.gif

But I'm good friends with the guys in the Information Technology Dept so I don't really care if they look at my Internet surfing record and see I'm tuned to Portkey. Everybody here knows I'm MyForeverHarry anyway. It's one of the bracelets I'm wearing.

Hmm let's see.... Oh I know!

- You're impatiantly waiting for a chance to go "Nah, I'm more of a PG type." and then laugh to yourself since "PG" means "Potter/Granger".

-When finding out two friends are Herons you name off all of the disgusting and bizarre pairings that you know just to make them think h/hr isn't so bad after all. (I nearly made my poor friends gag.. almost felt bad about it. I was just glad I one upped them)

- When you hear a song, and shamelessly sing along, you suddenly trail off thinking. "wow, does that ever sound like hermione talkin' to harry". (or vice versa)

- while listening to "The Magician's Nephew" (Chronicles of Narnia) on CD no matter how hard you try, Gregory and Polly sound JUST like Harry and Hermione to you.

I am guilty of EVERY SINGLE ONE. There's one more about the Narnia thing I just can't quite remember what happened so I left it out.

I don't know why I keep posting on this thread but things just keep popping up...

Another one from me:

... When you start rooting for an American Idol wannabe who said she's 'militant' and she's talking about preparing for the competition, not HHr, but still... anyone's who's claiming he/she's militant got to be on the same boat as us, right?

And then Simon, Paul, Randy and Carole Bayer Sager let her go on to the next round!

So keep your ears peeled... maybe someone else would say he/she's delusional next...

Thankfully, my family is used to how wacko I am, and it's not like it popped out of nowhere. It runs in the blood. My father, God rest his soul, had even crazier obsessions than I did. Basically, he likes to collect things. He once had a collection of glass/porcelain/jade farm animals. Yes, farm animals. Not the cool ones like tigers and dragons and sh*t, but farm animals, so we had pigs and cows and roosters lined up on his office shelves. Then he took it one step further and began to collect real fighting ###### <--(this word is supposed to be c*o*c*k*s, and because the forum is retarded when it comes to certain words of the English language, it got edited. What the hell are we supposed to call fighting c*ocks? Male chickens?Fighting roosters? That's even more retarded.) He had them in the backyard of our house in the city. And then he began to collect fountain pens. He didn't keep 'em in cases. He used them, but there were so many that he couldn't use all of them at once, so some of them would dry out. Then he collected toothpicks and earpicks. Don't ask me what an earpick is. It's gross.

Anyway, like I said, wacko runs in the blood, so it's like my HP and anime obsessions are normal. Geeky, but relatively normal.
MyForeverHarry
Wow, I would have gotten along well with your father. I go through phases of collecting things, too. I have collected pencils, pens, cigarette boxes [I don't smoke, I got them from others], vitamin bottles, matchboxes, buttons, brooches, T-shirts, pictures from magazines, fluffy stuffed animals, plastic animals, books. But the most expensive habit I had in term of collecting was when I went crazy about gold - bracelets, bangles, rings, necklaces [not earrings, just don't like gold earrings]. And then I lost interest in jewelleries altogether and sold all the stuff!

I got rid of my collections of stuff whenever I move houses, though. When you start packing things, you start to realise - what the heck am I doing with all these stuff?

With love,

They wouldn't understand why I flew halfway across the country for the release of HBP, so I told them it was to visit a friend (which, in truth, it was...). They don't understand that kind of thing. While it's okay for my brothers to collect junk cars, Star Wars stuff, or everything John Wayne and Snoopy, my dad wouldn't be able to forgive that I read non-"classics" or non-"politically inspired" works. The same and guilty as charged for the PK forum updates but during my breakfast in the morming.
The difference is that my parents know that I am a bookworm and reading anything that might of interest for me. But its true that my family members really dont understand why I am in the Potterverse at all, for them itīs just a book, a work of fiction.

Here's a couple I'M guilty of...

You have NEVER liked the taste of pumpkin, even after becoming an H/Hr fan... But you still force yourself to at least choke down a tester spoonful of Baskin Robin's Pumpkin Pie ice cream...

The greeting message on your cellphone is "Pumpkin Pie" in scarlet and crimson. (y'know the one that hovers at the top of the screen all banner like?)

You covertly ask some friends "do you like pumpkin pie" and when they say yes, you grin to yourself at the double meaning!

You know that your obsessed (more like an overly addicted shipper) to Harmony, when you have images of them together on your wall and you curse JKR for making it the BAD pairings in the books.
Potter's Otter
I know I'm obsessed with H/Hr because I'm here right now posting this post instead of studying for my Sociology exam.

I know I'm obsessed with H/Hr when the hairs on the back of my neck stand up at the mere mention of R/Hr. Or, some random co-worker mentions HP and I'm suddenly on the defensive because I think everyone else who likes HP must be R/Hr, so I get myself ready for a fight.

I know I'm obsessed with HP because I painted my room a golden color with scarlet highlights.
Scout
I knew I was obsessed when I named my frogs Harry and Hermione, and the cat Hedwig.

I also knew I was obssesed when I got my little boy a Hogwarts robe and a wand so he can play Harry Potter and Whiner Weasley, oops, I mean, Ron Weasley. biggrin.gif

aw...not that im that much into conspiracy theories...but what if emerson made up the whole interview...caused you unnecessary anguish and made the rest of us go...WTF? blink.gif im obsessed for even considering that possibility...tongue.gif

Wouldn't he have been sued by now? I mean, that interview is infamous all over the fandom world.

He would have, yes...but the thing that awakens my curiosity is that we only have his word for it, and no record...video, audio, or a third party to confirm the validity...
