Piper/Leo and Phoebe/Cole from Charmed. Like Harry, both Leo and Cole would do anything to protect the ones they love. Both couples are friends as well as a couple.

Kim/Ron from Kim Possible. Has anyone seen the movie? They finally get together. So cute.

Edmond/Mercedes for The Count of Monte Cristo.

Calvin/Meg from A Wrinkle in Time and sequals.

Lucius and Ivy from the village! When they said this line, it remind me SO MUCH of Harry and Hermione.
Ivy: Why can you not say what is in your head?
Lucius: Why can you not stop saying what is in yours?
heart.gif heart.gif SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And also; Robin and Starfire from Teen Titans. Robin has a troubled past (do I really have to explain it?) just like Harry; and Starfire is new to the world, whereas Hermione is a witch who was brought up in the muggle world. Out of all the five titans, Robin and Starfire seem to have the closest bond (Hermione is more intune with Harry's thoughts and emotions than Ron is). And not to mention, whenever the Titans are fighting someone, Robin only reacts if Starfire is injured, he just shrugs off everyone else, knowing that they'll be ok (Hello, Department of Mysteries incident anyone? wink.gif )

I'm sorry, but I have to...disagree. Robin and Starfire seem to have more of a Ginny/Harry type relationship, because of Starfire's worshipping of him (no offense, I used to be a R/S shipper) Ginny used to have a crush on the Boy Who Lived, not Harry.

I see Raven and Robin as more of a Harry/Hermione relationship. Robin and Starfire don't have the bond that Raven/Robin do (Haunted? Mindmeld?) Raven is more Hermione anyway, she's a booksmart, she doesn't take Beast Boy (Ron) seriously, and she can get angry easily.

Robin cares deeply for Raven more than anybody (except Starfire) but she is at the top of Robin's list. In The End Part 1, didn't anyone notice that Robin didn't even care that Starfire hugged him? he was all worried about Raven and before that when he held her hand, he had the most caring, loving face.

I can go on about this all day long, but this is not the right place for it...

Back on topic, here's the couples that remind me of Harry/Hermione,

Raven/Robin
Inuyasha/Kagome (When he's on his good side)
Ron/Kim
Danny/Sam
Maggie O
Syaoran Li and Sakura Kinomoto...

Well at least from Tsubasa, AWWWW... I just love ANIME

Jaina/Zek or Jaina/Jag from the Star Wars novels. I am not sure which I like better at the moment, but both are very H/Hr. Jaina and Zek were childhood friends. Jaina and Jag became friends later on, but fought together and became very close. In both couples, it is sort of a reverse. Jaina is a lot like Harry, while both Zek and Jag are a little like Hermione.

Mulder and Scully - she's rational, he's ... not. Both are reaaaaaally smart, but where he's intuitive and tends to be a loner, she's a scientist, more by-the-book and has a family that she gradually loses touch with as his world becomes her own. Not to mention the word-less communication, the prolonged eye contact, the general us-against-the-world isolation ... sigh.

When I say that R & S have more of a bond than the others, I meant in the fact that they are closer than the other titans. Yes Robin and Raven do share that one particular bond; but hey, isn't that seem like the same thing as Harry and Ginny, the whole Tom Riddle and the diary thing. The whole in the End part 1-3 reminded me of the last chapters of CoS; Robin is going down to save Raven/ Harry goes into the basement of the school to save Ginny. Plus, Raven is converted to her younger self; Ginny was little in CoS.

Personally, I see Raven much more Ginny than Hermione. She is quiet (Ginny in the first few books); but she can prove herself to be quite useful and powerful (Bat Boogey Hex, anyone?) And both Raven and Ginny are underestimated for one reason or another: Raven, her quietness (It's always the quiet ones, isn't it?); and Ginny, her size.

And how exactly do you mean that Starfire "worships" Robin? She looks up to him maybe, but...

NE way, that is WAY off topic offtopic.gif

Other couples that remind me of H/Hr are:
1) Danny/Sam (Danny Phantom) with Ron as Tucker
2) Ben/Lucy (Crossroads)
3) Rick/Evelyn (Mummy/Mummy Returns) with Ron as Johnathan
Gothic Girl
Sandstorm and Fireheart!!! Warriors
Graystripe and Silverstream!!! Warriors
Goldenpaw and Blackheart (The Myterrious Black Cat*)

*This is a story I will begin soon about my favorite RP charrie and my friend's RP loner tom. I will post it here.

If I shipped them, probably the closest I could come up with would be Scott and Jean from The X-Men.

Yep. It's not even debatable, the parallel is striking.

I'm also thinking of Emma Woodhouse and Mr. Knightley from Jane Austen's Emma, and Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe from the Anne of Green Gables series (especially books 2 and 3).

Faramir and Eowyn? I'm not so sure about those, but I adore F/E and H/Hr. There's definitely some similarities in Faramir's and Harry's home situation.
wub.gif Hmmm, sorry. I forgot I'm not on the Faramir Fanciers thread at CoE. blush.gif

Myself, I see them more as Draco and Ginny. Faramir (Draco) only doing the things he does to gain his father's love and respect; And Eowyn (Ginny) being almost completely obsessed with a certain tall, dark, and utterly SEXY hero! (hmmm... **clears throat** His eyes are as green...)
star22
Ug. I hate that ship. Sorry, the feminist in me can't stand that Eowyn loses who she is when she gets with him. It reminds me a lot of Harry/Ginny, actually. I would say Aragorn/Eowyn is more like H/Hr, but anyway.

Even though I don't like this movies, Oscar/Angie from Shark's tale. The parallels are pretty obvious.

Shrek/Fiona from Shrek and Shrek 2 (I was just watching this, so it was on my mind.)
Helena Montague
I've just had an epiphany. I've been having those a lot lately. Anyway...The book I'm reading currently reminds me a lot of Harry and Hermione. I'm reading The Pearl by John Steinbeck and in this book there's a man, Kino, who finds this great pearl and get consumed by it. He forgets about what he has right in front him like his wife, Juana, and his baby, Coyotito. Well in Harry and Hermione's case, Harry is Kino, Ginny is the pearl, and Hermione is Juana.
Marauder By Moonlight
Alan and TinTin from the movie "Thunderbirds", with Fermat as Ron.

Tintin likes Alan, and it's obvious to some people, while the others are completely oblivious. Fermat obviously likes TinTin, I recall him stroking her hand at one part of the movie when she was upset (hello, hand-grab in PoA, anyone?) And Alan doesn't realize his feelings for her untill someone points it out to him (what I and a few other people believe will happen for Harry to realize his feelings.

Yes! I love Danny/Sam! I haven't read Emma (yet), but Anne/Gilbert always reminded me more of a James/Lily kind of relationship, because of the way she hated him for awhile (poor Gilbert!), plus the striking physical appearence of them both.
Lissy
Jack O'Neill and Sam Carter (Stargate SG1) even down to Jack told Sam that she is a National Treasure and compared to her, he is expendable

Max and Logan (Dark Angel)

Don Alejandro del Castillo y Garcia and Elana Montero (The Legend of Zorro)
Dice
Will/Lyra from His Dark Materials. They have a companionship that is so like H/Hr's.

Belle/Beast from Beauty and the Beast. I see Hermione as Belle, and Harry as the Beast. At first, the Beast yells and shouts and completely frightens poor Belle, but she begins to care for him, despite the fact that he can sometimes intimidate her *like in OotP* I also like comparing the Beast showing her the library to Harry getting a book for Xmas.
Penélope
They remind me, in a way, Chandler & Monica (Friends). Although their personalities are pretty different (specially Chandler's), they're one of those perfect example of couples in which a long and very strong friendship can lead to a great romance, even a marriage... blush.gif
AdamantEve
Well, in "Constantine", John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) and Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) reminds me of Harry and Hermione simply because the color of their hair is spot on. The shape of their face and body structure also resemble Harry and Hermione.

Prue/Andy (Charmed): Just watched the first episode where we were introduced to him. They so fit with Harry/Hermione.

Gil/Catherine (CSI): They are close friends who work so much better when they are together. They really complete each other. He so can't end up with Sara. That would be horrible.

Nick/Sara: They work very well together and are good friends.

I don't know whether to agree with you or not. At first Arya really reminded me of Cho... Espcially her unsurpassed beauty and Eragon's huge crush on her, which as you said, he was very obvious about.

However, I can also see a bit of Hermione in her; in her intelligence and thirst for knowledge... And also, lately, in Eldest, she and Eragon have become closer friends.

Nasuada actually reminds me a bit of Hermione as well... She's intelligent and resourceful, and cares about Eragon....

Nevertheless, I'm pulling for Eragon and Arya in the end... biggrin.gif

In the same series, Roran and Katrina remind me of Harry and Hermione's relationship more so than any of the other characters' relationships mainly because of Roran's fierce protectiveness of her... As to not spoil anything, I'll be vauge, but if what happened to Katrina in Eldest happened to Hermione in the HP books, I'd imagine Harry's reaction to be very similar to what Roran's was...

That's my imput...

Also Will/Lyra from His Dark Material def.

That's why I specified Books 2 and 3; they were already past the love/hate stuff in Book 1, and I think it actually says in Anne of the Island that Anne considered Gilbert her best friend (awww...)

Of course, I see parallels between James/Lily and H/Hr, so that could explain why I'm mentioning Anne and Gilbert. cool.gif

Aw, you did not just compare JONATHAN to Harry! *grimace*

I cannot stand Jonathan! He's such a stuck-up [bleep!]. Well, at least in The Woman Who Rides Like A Man. That's where he earned my eternal hatred.

I see H/Hr as more of a Kel/Neal relationship (ignore Yuki and Dom, just IGNORE THEM! *sniffle*). Best friends, green eyes, wacky hair, smart girl, impulsive guy... wub.gif

Anyone ever read the Abhorsen series, by Garth Nix? They're sooo good.

Anyway, I like to think of H/Hr as Sabriel and Touchstone. Firstly, Touchstone is super hot, and secondly, he's got a real sense of duty & he's self-depreciating, like Harry.

Sabriel kicks butt, like our Hermione. & they find love through their adventures together.

My favorite quote of the whole series goes like this:

"I love you. I hope you don't mind." (Touchstone)
"No, I don't mind. I think I might love you too." (Sabriel)
Who the heck asks if they mind if you love them? It's great.

You should read it.

I'm watching Friends right now, and I have to admit Monica and Chandler are like Harry and Hermione in some ways; but Ross and Rachel also remind me of them too. With cameo appearances from Pablo! Krum, Emily!Cho, and Gunther!Ron!
harry and hermiones daughter
Recently i have read a book called "Hawksong" There is a prince whom is fighting a war for this people, and on the otherside there is a princess who is fighting for her people. As they begin to take their rightful place at the throne, they are willing to do anything, and everything to stop the war. Even if that means to pretend to be in love. The princes name is Zane; whom can transform himself into a cobra. While the princess who's name is Danica can change into a hawk. Zane has black sleek hair and red eyes. He is very independent unlike harry whom has messy black hair, and trouble expressing himself. While Zane is perfectly fine with expressing himself, but here's what makes them allike when he keeps in his anger he takes it out on people who shouldnt have been screamed at( OoTP). Danica on the other hand is very much like Hermione, she is reserved and content and only shows emotion if she cant hold it in(OoTP), origially she fell for her best friend Rei whom i compare to Ron, because he worries about her but has a bit of a temper and loves her. But unlike Ron, Rei would do anything to make her happy even if that meant letting her fall for a Serpiente, Zanes side. At first, the peace makers to the west suggests to " tie the two royal families" To stop the war. And Zane and Danica would do anything to stop it. So they tie the two families together my becomeing kind and queen. Not in the muggle way no, this is like mideval times. At first they do not like the idea and neither di their guardians. but because they are taking their rightful place at the throne. Not only are the guardians suprised, the people of their sides. None of them agreed but they were supposed to be loyal to their fair queen so they bit their tounge.

Okay overall thats what happens in the end zane and danica get together in the end....you'll have to read it yourself because i am tired and i cant give all the deatails. this is what you serch for. "Hawksong" by amelia atwater-rhodes

Oh and im sorry if i spelled anything wrong im really tired...so see ya soon ?

The ones I have not seen on this forum yet:

-Domon/Rain (G Gundam) He is good at fighting like Harry and She is smart like Hermione. He's got black hair and a scar, She has brown hair.
-Keita Aono/Hinoki Sei (Betterman) Keita has black hair and glasses and acts alot like Harry in first year. He has an interesting ability due to an accident when he was younger. He would do anything in his power to get Hinoki back after she is kidnapped. Hinoki has brown hair
and I can't forget...
Jinto/Lafiel(Crest of the Stars and Banner of the Stars I&II) They hold a relationship that is exactly like H/Hr's: Caring, Respectful and mature. In fact their personalities are very similar to Harry and Hermione's only the rolls are sometimes switched (a recommended must see for Anime enthusists)

Hi, I was just wondering whether anyone has read "The Little Lady" by Hester Browne? I'm developing a theory in my mind about H/H shippers and if anyone has read this book I would be really interested to see whether anyone wanted Melissa to get together with Nelson rather than Jonothan, just to see if my theory stands up before I share my idea with you all. I can't believe nobody has read this book! Ok so it isn't astounding literature but it's a pretty good read. Of course, my brilliiant point has left me briefly for now but I'm sure it will come back soon when I have gathered statistics re:shipping preferences in both The Little Lady and Harry Potter. Please somebody read it, if as I hope, I am correct in my analysis of H/H shippers' characters, you will probably be slightly bummed by the ending BUT read it anyway.

I've always thought that H/Hr was like Beauty and the Beast too. No one has ever said they loved Harry before,(well his parents probably did) But, no one

I hope so too smile.gif

Slightly OT: And now I'm wondering when Ginny started using the name VOLDEMORT instead of You-Know-Who... I mean, even Hermione still has trouble with it and she's Muggleborn. "Purebloods" like the Weasleys never say the name. So...a little slip of the pen by JKR? Shoddy editing? Or is something else going on... *evil grin*

I most certainly agree to the whole Will/Lyra!!!!! I love HDM sooooo much thumbup.gif I'm also a huge Nightwing fan and I would have to say that Nightwing/Oracle (a.k.a. old school Robin and Batgirl) remind me of H/Hr!!!!

Penélope
I have just finished to watch (again and again biggrin.gif ) "When Harry Met Sally" (one of my favourite movie)... and I think that the kind of relationship/friendship they have is very VERY similar to H/Hr's. I'm now realizing that I'd love to see H/Hr happen in a Harry/Sally way. The two couples were both close friends for ages, always there for each other, always respectful and loyal and the fights between them used to end with sincere apologies. Also, I think that H/Hr, exacly like Harry and Sally, are becoming unconsciously in love with each other. And hopefully, always like Harry and Sally, it'll happen something that will forced them to question their own feelings for one another.

In conclusion, a "When Harry Met Hermione" end! LOL! biggrin.gif

Anyway, Writeside (as always) has stressed a very good point: no one has ever told Harry "I love you". I really hope this person will be Hermione.

PIGWIDGEON!
I don' really see a point in looking for similarities because no Great love is alike

But comparing Harry and Hermione to Dawson and Joey makes me mad!
yah cause Harry's so much like Dawson! Dawson's an arrogant ass who only thinks about himself. Does that sound like Harry to you? They where the obvious couple right such is Ron and Hermione. But instead of falling in love with Dawson like she was suppose too she fell in love with Pacey instead and in the end Pacey and Joey's love prevailed just as I'm hoping Harry and Hermione's love will prevail in book 7.
Pacey loved Joey for everything that she was, not just the "idea" of her that Dawson had in his mind. That's another reason I don't like Ron and Hermione. I think his likeness for her is merely "skin deep" he likes the idea of her. So when comparing Harry and Hermione please think of a better couple than Dawson and Joey yucky.gif
