I'm reading the His Dark Materials trilogy (Yeah, I'm still reading it) - and well, I'm in book3 now, and I think Will/Lyra reminded me a bit of H/Hr =D

Lyra is quite annoying at times, but I love Will to bits ^^

Anyway, the story centers on Lyra.. who after a while meets Will, who happens to be "the chosen one" to be the bearer to this special knife. Both of them are destined to do something great, but their interactions are quite nice.

They meet, and set on their adventures, and slowly develop a friendship... and soon both began wanting to make a good impression on the other. Lyra begins helping Will with her talents, and Will helps Lyra with his - both learning from each other.

There was this scene where Lyra's daemon (like Hermione's Crookshanks), Pantalaimon is caressed/touched by Will (who is not from Lyra's world, therefore doesn't have a daemon of his own) - touching someone else's daemon is a very intimate thing, because it's like touching someone else's soul. This reminds me of Hermione and Harry's interactions with Hedwig and Crookshanks.

There was this other scene where Lyra had blisters on her feet, and Will took ointment to cure her, and this reminded me of Hermione curing Harry's "I will not tell lies" scars

Molly and...I have no stupid idea, from Wives and Daughters. It's a very good movie and it has Michael Gambon in it...so you should see it. Though Michael Gambon is quite fat in it.

Leah and Jonas from Abram's Daughters...it's a very good series by Beverly Lewis...you should read it.

Corey and Topanga...they've been best friends forever...'nough said.

My mom and dad...sort of...she didn't like him in the beginning.

Sully and Doctor Mike from Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman

Andrew and Colleene From Doctore Quinn Medicine Woman

Arthur and Francine From the Arthur show on PBS.

Reed and Sue from the Fantastic Four...and Ron is like Johnny.

Rochester and Jane from Jane Eyre....sort of.

Micahel and Mia...Michael...like Hermione sees Harry, sees Mia for what she really is...or when she was invisible. Harry sees Hermione when no one else sees her.

my sister and her 'special friend' who's a guy.

just because she's a monkey and he's an ant-eater doesn't mean they won't work out. And anyway...she's had a crush on him forever.

Other couples:

Viola and Duke from, "She's The Man."

I just watched this, this morning and I thought...yeah they're like Harry/Hermione...sort of.

I do agree with this one. Emphasis on 'sort of'.

I had the impression that the movie was going to be terrible but that certainly changed while watching it. I was one-fourth into the beginning of the movie until I realized it was based on Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night".

But yeah, when the two are discussing what Duke wants in a girl and he says he wants to be able to talk about 'important stuff' my Harmony radar lit up.

I haven't watched LOST for a while, (not since the first season) so I don't know how the J/K relationship has evolved, but from what I saw, it didn't remind me at all of H/Hr.

Shinichi Kudou & Ran Mouri from Detective Conan. heart.gif

Each of them have their other thing for Shinichi it's being a detective and for Ran it's her Karate. They aren't really that much alike, but their difference is what brings them to togther, they respect eachother(most of the time), and they trust eachother. They can depend on eachother to save the other. Shinichi always tries to be around even if Ran doesn't know it, and Ran also was him around. Ran has the worry, be careful, and w/e that Hermione has for Harry. While Shinichi has this thig where he has to protect Ran, like Harry for Hermione.

Actually, I see Lily/Oliver chemistry than I do Miley/Oliver.
That my friend, probably makes me more of a Heron. cool.gif

I'm sorry but Lily/Oliver just stand out, watch an episode with them together and you'll see it clearer than you had before. Even though both girls kind of treat him the same, there is a slight difference. Which sways to Lily likes Oliver "that way".

*squee* my ships are sailing on House..

Cam/Chase <------ cutest thing ever, however, for part of the episode it started having a R/Hr feel to it. However, a couple of main differences. Cam does have feelings for Chase, but something's up with her. (Haven't figured out what..but she's not an emotionally detached person, so she wouldn't be doing chase if she didn't have feelings for him.) But they were fighting last episode..however, they talked, and made up. Chase even got her flowers, just because she liked them. They just compliment each other and work so well together..
http://www.houseisright.com/wp-content/upl...cameroncute.jpg

Cuddy/House...Wow, this is seriously Harmony with a giant boost of sexual tension. And I mean real sexual tension. If Herons want to see what Ust really looks like.. They are opposites, but they complete each other, and they keep each other in check. That's what Harmony is..I still laugh when people say Ginny knows how to best deal with Harry. I disagree completely. She's snarky, and turns everything about her. In the library, she was being nosy, and just happened to be there at the right time. He was able to share his feelings with her because he wasn't emotionally vested in her. He didn't even talk about WHY he wanted to talk to Sirius. just said he needed to, and that situation could have been replaced by Anyone except Hermione, because she wouldn't have allowed Harry to talk to Sirius w/ an explanation.
http://static.flickr.com/51/149611504_4a4b5981fc_m.jpg

And and just a side note..notice how in the fifth book, Harry and Ginny get chased out of the library for breaking rules. And they have a "sort of" shippy moment. Then in HBP they get together. Well, in HBP Hermione and Harry have a shippy moment in the library and are then kicked out for breaking a rule...interesting parallel, IMO..

Aww great! I thought I was the only one seeing it. I like the way Booth is more of a rush person, just like Harry, and Bones is more on the study side, books and all that, just like Hermione. How they interact and connect with each other. I've been following the series since middle last season, and here in Mexico we're delayed in chapters, I think 5 chapters diference, probably more. I'd just like that they'd got together wub.gif

This has probably been mentioned but Ned and Mosley from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide remind me so much of H/Hr!!! They are deff going to be a couple!!! and yes i watch kiddy shows on tv haha.
Gotham's Princess
Here's where the comic book fangirl comes out in me: Richard* Grayson and Donna Troy. Also known as Nightwing and well, I'm not sure what Donna goes by anymore.

Well, Richard and Donna have been best friends since they first founded the Teen Titans along with Kid Flash (Wally West), Speedy (Roy Harper), and Aqualad (Garth). Donna has always supported D when he had his problems, from his fallout with Bruce, to when Richard gave up the mantle of Robin, to his almost-wedding to Kory Anders (Starfire).

Ricard helped Donna find out her who she was and where she came from. He walked her down the aisle at her first wedding. He comforted her when her son died.

It was Donna's death that drove Richard to break up the Titans and give up being a leader.

They remind me of Harry and Hermione because they are so close and rely on eachother so much. Donna would always put Richard first, like Hermione does with Harry. Sure Richard and Donna aren't a couple yet, but they should be, goshdurnnit.

* I have to type Richard, because his actually name gets blocked out.

House/Cuddy definately reminds me of Harry/Hermione. Chase/Cameron is a little bit like H/Hr, but it reminds me more of Neville/Ginny, actually. Maybe that's because Cameron reminds me so much of Ginny.

Definately Booth/Bones. I've only watched a little of that show, but they are very much like H/Hr.

Clark/Lois from Lois and Clark reminds me so much of Harry/Hermione. Our family is rewatching that show since I have the dvd, and the friendship they develop is amazing.

Probably the most like H/Hr, IMO, is Odo/Kira from Star Trek. Both have been with other people in the past. They have been close friends for a long time. They finally got together. They'd do anything for each other. She was even willing to let him go when he needed to go back to his people. That is love.

I wasn't talking about Smallville. I was talking about Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, though any other incarnation of adult!Superman would work. Personally, I strongly dislike Smallville as I don't think they were faithful to Superman canon or the characters. Clark and Lois, not to mention Clark and Lex, should not have met when they were children. It sort of destroys the whole feel of their relationships.

Anyway, in Lois and Clark, Clark and Lois fight some at first, but they gradually become first best friends and then fall in love. She loves him as Clark, for who he is, not as Superman, the sort of crush Ginny has on Harry.

Ooooooh! You see, there's when you notice my obssession with Smallville whistling.gif

Anyway, I've only watched Lois and Clark a few times, mostly because when it first aired I was really young, and if I did watched, I can't remember anything. I've been wanting to watch it but... my obssession with Chloe/Clark always stops me! That's the same reason I didn't watch Superman in the movies last year!

But, I've always liked the kind of relationships like that, that evolve to friendship and then to love. So, I'll try to watch it!

Anybody watch 'The Wonder Years'?

I was watching the episode of when Arnold was pulled into taking his best friend's little sister to a dance. The little sister has a major crush on Arnold.

It continuously was reminding me of Harry, the best friend Ron, and the little sister Gin-Gin.

Arnold felt that she thought of him as a 'hero' and she couldn't see his faults. Even said things like 'President of my fan club', and 'biggest fan'.

Arnold felt like going with the little sister was a duty that the family expected from him, so to please them he did. (Weasleys)

Watch it. You won't regret it, I promise. Nothing on that show will remind you of the Smallville-Clark. It's completely different. L&C is the most beautiful 'best friends turn into lovers' story that I know.

Lol, that pairing has always reminded me of H/HR and especially that song that goes with it- can you feel the love tonight?

And I was watching The Island the other day, and Licoln and what's-her-face-delta-two kinda reminded me of H/Hr. In that their both best friends who work together and don't realize they love each other until later in the movie. Also, I love how the girl knows when Licoln is lying (she can tell by the look in his eyes), kinda how Hermione knows when Harry's lying.

*has gigantic squeeing fest*

YES!!!! I totally agree. biggrin.gif I've been like, obsessed with H/Cuddy recently. They banter and dance around each other, but when the chips are really down one will always stand their ground for the other e.g her saving his ass from going to jail, him saving her when they were on that plane. I think it's pretty obvious that they've known each other for a loooong time too, even if this has never been confirmed on the show, and that's another similarity with Harmony. She's always there for him when he needs her and even though he'd never admit it, he does need her. They're basically Harmony with a massive shot of amazing sexual chemistry, real UST and not the petty nonsense the Herons call tension. Basically, they need to get together, like NOW.

H/Cam on the other hand reminds me of H/G. He's the big hero and she's the worshipping little fangirl who snaps at his heels like a rather irritating puppy dog while he clearly doesn't reciprocate her little crush.

In conclusion, Huddy is TEH LOVE on House and very Harmony like. wub.gif

in front of me, my boyfriend show his true side within

They didn't actually get together, but they remind me of Harmony so I'll add them here. I originally thought of this in another thread on here and had someone agree with me that this (should have been) couple was like Harmony.

I'm talking about Obi-Wan/Bant in the Star Wars Jedi Apprentice series.

Let me explain myself for those who haven't read the series or need a refresher. nerd.gif

1. They're best friends (they also have another best friend who loves to eat)
2. Obi-Wan can't stand hurting Bant, much like Harry can't stand hurting Hermione
3. He's got an impulsive streak, and she's more logical
4. She's one of the few people who can get through to him when he's upset
siutou_amy
Lol hmm, I dunno if anyone's mentioned this, but Bette and Tina from The L Word sort of reminded me of H/Hr - specially in the later season 4.

Well, Bette and Tina already had a serious commitment since season 1 - but through a series of mistakes and decisions, they have already split up after an ugly incident in season 3 finale.

In season 4 however, Bette and Tina become friends again, even though Tina left Bette for a man, and Bette is already pursuing another relationship with a fellow artist. Throughout the 2nd half of this season, Tina starts regretting her decision of leaving Bette, and begins hanging out with her as a friend. Bette takes it as just friendship, thus begins asking for advice with her new relationship. Tina just agrees and helps Bette out with her relationship with Jodi.

However, you know Tina and Bette are for one another, because of a phone scene Bette and Tina have while Bette is trying to fix her relationship with Jodi, where Bette called Tina so Tina could advice her on what to say, and she says something like "she never should have left her, and that she will do everything for her to just be with her" - and when Bette hears those words, she just closes her eyes because it's obvious she wanted Tina saying those words to her instead. But in the end, Bette is going for Jodi and Tina can only support her friend. =P

I'd say Obi-Wan and Siri Tachi. They were both padawans at the same time and close friends. They developed feelings for each other even though they weren't supposed to. Their friendship continued on when they both became Masters. Their loyalty to the Jedi way kept them from becoming involved, but they did love each other.

Is Siri the same person as Bant? I'm not sure because I haven't read the Jedi Apprentice series.

Ed and Carol from Ed. Ed had a major crush on her in high school. After a bitter divorce, he comes back to Stuckyville and tries to ask her out. Eventually, they become very good friends. The two of them and Mike are sort of like the trio. Eventually, they both realize that they are meant to be together and get married. Their friendship remains through it all.
hexonjellybeans12
I'd have to say Phil and Keely from Phil of the Future--two people who are in love with each other but don't want to admit it for fear of losing the friendship.

We balance each other out, because I haven't read the follow-up series that you appear to be referring to. Siri does appear in the JA series, but her and Obi-Wan get along about as well as Ron and Hermione. Bant is a completely different character. From what I've been told Bant is killed off at the beginning of one of the follow-up series.
Hermione Crookshanks
I don't know if this has been said yet, but Harry and Sally from When Harry Met Sally. I know their personalities aren't really the same (although Sally sometimes reminds me of Hermione every once in a while), but their relationship is, in my opinion, very similar to that of H/Hr. Some might argue that it's R/Hr because they fight, BUT that's only in the beginning, before they're friends. And Harry and Hermione certainly didn't get along before they were friends. Anyway, once they're friends, Harry and Sally are incredibly supportive of one another, and although it's a romantic comedy, I think it's their deep friendship that really makes the movie.
maconlon439
With all the different couples discussed on this thread, I'm surprised this couple hasn't come up.

In The DaVinci Code, when the whole world turns against Robert, the only one who stands at his side is Sophie. A lot like what happens in GOF.
