OK now I'm sure this should be in the 'password' section so I hope I get this right with the 'spoilers' thing.

Loads of H/Hr! smile.gif

Personally my favourite is in the restaurant when :
SPOILER!

Harry and Cho are in the restaurant on a date and he keeps talking about Hermione every 5 minutes - to the point where Cho is so upset she leaves Harry to pay up and go and meet Hermione!
"..perhaps it would be better if we just paid and you went and met up with Hermione Granger like to obviously want to!" says Cho.

Brilliant! I laughed myself silly! biggrin.gif

Of course for me the best bit is towards the end, :

SPOILER!

when Hermione is attacked. Harry is distraught to the point where he can't even look at her to see if she's actually dead. Bless!! (I keep seing the actors doing this scene - argh! They might not be there by this point!

I guess having read the whole thing I ought to look at it in more depth now. Unfortunately work interrupts now - agh! sad.gif

Happy reading! smile.gif

Hey Hastur all you have to do is highlight the bit you want to 'spoiler' and click the spoiler icon in the menu - the programme does the rest.

Okay well right now Harry is keeping away from everyone because he heard that he was dangerous. Then Hermione comes to Sirius's home and asks him to let her talk to him, after not letting anyone else talk to him it comes to as a surprise that he let's her come in. She also (a feat no one else was able to do) convinced him to go talk to her, Ron and Ginny. She also single-handedly was able to sort out the problem that they had. She seemed to know exactly what Harry needed and helped him understand he was not the weapon. Being able to deal with his stubborness and being able to make him understand that he is not the bad guy, in my opinion, is a crucial thing needed in a relationship with the Boy-Who-Lived.

OK - er three main ones for me are :

Chapter 4 Number twelve, Grimmauld Place p.60 (UK edition)

Hug - squeee! Hermione nearly knocks him flat - great! biggrin.gif
- and then promptly doesn't shut up for ther next few minutes telling him everything she couldn't tell him before!

Chapter 25 The Beetle at Bay p. 495 -

Coffee with Cho. Brilliant - he's having a 'rendezvous' with Cho and he keep talking about meeting Hermione! I don't think that's a good idea on a first date!

Chapter 35 Beyond the Veil

When Hermione is attacked and Harry IMO is beside himself. He first of all won't look at her, then when danger is passed can't accept the fact that she might be dead "Don't let her be dead..., don't let her be dead..." awww!

Well just my few moments - no doubt everyone has loads more.

PS Hope this is right in this post.

Ok.. just got done reading the book.... ( FINALLY!) and damn... i luv it! But neway.....
I was a bit ticked off when i saw the hints of Harry/Cho... but yep.. i noticed that Hermione was a bit ticked off too about the pairing. Lolz.. and theres lil hints of affection here and there... i mean not like a lot of hugging or nething, but harry seemed to save Hermione or try to protect her a lot throughout the book.
Oh and when Cho was arguing with Harry about how cruel it was for Hermione to put that jinx on Cho's friends who betrayed them, well Harry defended Hermione and that pissed cho off.... lolz... i was yelling " Yay! In your face Cho!" .... lolz.... alrite.... moving on..
I think thats it for now. I'm too tired to search for some more.. but i'll come back when i find ne H/Hr moments....

nite all.....

Yes, I gave a nice long rant about H/Hr moments in the shipping in OoP thread.

1. "But I don't think you're ugly!"
2. In the Chap. 'Grawp' Harry catches Hermione and pulls her out of harms way. Hermione is also clinging to him after Grawp tries to grab her.
3. DoM- Could Harry finding Hermione's foot be JKR forshadowing Harry's desperate need for Hermione? The who 'please don't let her be dead' scene was absolutely ADORABLE.
4. Hermione understands Harry and shows it frequently
5. Harry wouldn't shut up about her on his date with Cho.
6. Harry saves her yet again from the centors.
7. H/Hr continue to touch each other in subtle ways. ie: Hermione keeps grabbing his arm, Harry pulls her places...
8. Hermione is just about the only one who is able to confort Harry and calm him down no matter what. I mean sometimes he just refuses to talk to anyone else.
9. Cho certainly seemed to see something going on between Harry and Hermione.

There are a lot more, but I can't think of them at the moment...
Liz R.
If you really look there's TONS of H/Hr hints! My favorites were: The 'please let her not be dead' part of DoM..., Hermione clinging to Harry after the attack by Grawp wub.gif , and generally that Cho, a neutral observer, saw H/Hr and didn't like it... laugh.gif

Omg! Was this book FANtastic or what?! I started bawling when *clears throat* died. crying.gif And the hints! thumbup.gif One of my personal favs:

SPOILER!

Page 505
Chappie 26

Herms: "And it might have been a good idea to mention how ugly you think I am too."

Harry: "But I don't think you're ugly."

That was kinda cute.

I live in Australia so I got it a day before everyone in the US. I took it home, sat down with a mug of hot milo and read for 10 hours straight. I didn't even get up to go to the bathroom! I finished at about 11:00pm and walked out of my room in a daze and my little sister was all, "How was it?! How was it?!" and I launched into a tirade and talked about it for half an hour straight. Then I realized I really REALLY had to pee. blush.gif

I suppose I can live with the idea that *clears throat* was Harry's first kiss, but I'm glad that's relationship is over and done with. And did anybody else think that that new DADA teacher was creepy beyond belief! Am I saying to much? I'm saying to much.

I'll leave it here. I LOVED IT! If you have the means to purchase a copy, I strongly recommend it.

Later!

Hi, everyone.
I finished reading book 5 the next day of the publication. It was great, and I don't believe this book is hinting Ron and Hermione. There are great amount of Harry and Hermione scene, such as the conversation with Cho during the quarrel at the restaurant. J.K. Rowling loves surprises and she does not necessarily write down what she describes in interviews. For example, she said she will reveal Harry's mother's profile a lot including the reason why the fact Harry inherit those green eyes from her, but I don't think I saw the line explained in the book. Yes, the scene in the battle, I mean, the one when Hermione went cold by the attack describes a lot how much she meant to Harry. Top of all, every time Harry went into the adventures in the past, only Hermione stood beside Harry, not Ron. See, in book 1, she is the first person who hugged Harry, and the phrase 'You are a great wizard, Harry' could support him from that moment on. In book 5, she couldn't go with him to the Chamber of Secrets, but her discovery about bassilisk helped him a lot. In book 3, when Harry tried to save Sirius, she played the important role and stand by his side for that matter. In book 4, even though she shows something towards Ron, it seems just a crush to me, like the one for Harry on Cho, or the one for Ginny on Harry. Maybe Hermione herself is not really aware how much of importance Harry is to Her. But some signs appeared in the fact that she often talked about Harry to Krum, not Ron. Most importantly, Hermione is the only one who trust and believed in Harry and what Harry insisted about being put his name in the goblet. Such beautiful and strong faith...

>VipyGirl831

Hi, how do you do? Your discovery on Hermione's Petronus is really interesting. I also think this is one of the hint for Harry and Hermione getting together. Because...who, with usual sense and sanity, wants Hermione to have 'otter' as a Petronus? Harry's Petronus is a stag, let's say his father 'Prongs'. <P>rongs and <otter>...Potter...interesting, isn't it?

I think Harry will realise how important Hermione is to him in book 6, and even if Ron and Hermione goes out in it, I think they will break up and keep distance as friends. Then, Harry and Hermione get together...

Sometimes, I want to invade J.K. Rowling's mind and to inscribe 'HARRY AND HERMIONE GET TOGETHER'...don't you think?

I like Ginny in book 5 a lot, and I knew how much of bravery Nevil showed. I hope Ginny and Nevil get together, and Ron and...Lavender or someone else, not Hermione.

Chapter Name: "Occlumency"
Chapter Number: 24
Page: 534
Edition: American; Scholastic

One occurence in which I was taken aback was during Harry's lessons on Occlumency. As Snape penetrated Harry's mind for the first time, we were confronted with flashes of Harry's memories. We see his unhappy childhood, under the sorting hat, dementors, his father and mother, Cho... and curiously *we see Hermione*. We don't see Ron *at all * in Harry's memories. There is a flash of Hermione's polyjuice incident almost seconds before he sees Cho. She is obviously included in some of Harry's more poignant memories. I think Hermione holds a very special place in Harry's heart, he just doesn't realize it yet. Although it is friendship now I would never rule out the
chance for it to be something more

Call me crazy but this jumped at me from out of the blue

*points to the wonderful post above by diam0ndgrrl*

Oh, wow! I can't believe I didn't see that! That's HUGE.

And so as not to be the useless space cadet I usually am, I'll contribute one of the moments that made me grin -

Chapter 23 - US Version, pg. 501 - "Thanks for the book, Harry!...I've been wanting that 'New Theory of Numerology' for ages! And that perfume is really unusual, Ron."

So many things about this little bit make me yip in happiness. Namely, evidence that Harry pays attention to the things Hermione's going on about (regardless that they're books) and how Ron gets the adjective 'unusual' and no exclamation point.

The makes you doubt and yet convinces you of alot of things. The beginning and towards the first quarter of the book, I was dreading R/Hr. With Harry's "problem" SuperAngry.gif only pushing them together more.
But things soon changed and then it was Cho. blushing.gif
Then she went as far as lay subtle hints of Luna Lovegood hypocrite.gif and even... maybe not... Ginny. smile.gif
But most of all it was Hermione and Harry understanding (understanding is the best world or maybe balancing each other out so perfectly). It was superb. Read the book and see for yourself.

You'd be suprised how much physical contact there is between Harry and Hermione. In page 692 near the top, it says ' "He's a half-blood," said Harry. He could hear Hermione's moan in his ear.'

Or something along those lines.
RhiandraChristine
Okay...in no particular order:

1. Hermione's huge greeting hug that almost knocked Harry down.
2. How Hermione "knew" Harry was prefect when she saw the badge in his hand and how disappointed she was when he wasn't.
3. I almost think "they--adults" asked Hermione to cut her ski vacation short and rescue Harry. She is the only one he would come out for. She got him to eat.
4. Harry's conscience voice is Hermione's.
5. She didn't seem happy when it was confirmed that Harry was kissed by Cho.
Probably wondering...why isn't that boy back what is that Cho doing!! Urg.
So, to make him jealous...she begins a letter to Krum, so that she is busy for when he gets back. Very suspicious timing.
6. Giving girl advice...how many girls have had to give girl advice to their crushes while it is killing them inside. My daughter 13 said that is what she did and it got the boy to like her instead. hmmm.
7. Cho's jealousy. Just like Krum's of Harry. They are picking up vibes...they are around these people and interested and have the feeling that they are
to into someone else. Cho mad about the lunch meeting with Hermione; she storms away. Or when Cho doesn't think Hermione was nice to put the jinx on the paper and Harry says he thinks she was brilliant. Cho's comment...darling Hermione.
8. All the times Harry had to grab Hermione.
9. How many times were Harry and Hermione together in moments of fighting...who was at his side in the confrontation.
10. She rescued him from Umbridge.
11. She knew Harry's weakness and insisted on checking on Sirius first, which I will admit was ticking me off, but she was right.
12. Her belief in his ability to teach them DA...is Ron better than her at anything?
13. She clears his name by arranging the interview....during Cho's date. biggrin.gif
14. Someone else mentioned this and I didn't catch it...but it is something. Hermione's patronus is an otter....P otter.
15. Of course when Hermione says, you should have told her you thought I was ugly. Harry says...but I don't. Well, that seems like fishing!?
16. The way Harry reacted to her injury, his fear of her being dead. No one else's injuries quite affected him that way.

There were others...those are off the top of my head. I did find some disturbing things(anti-H/Hr hints), but there aren't as many. I sitll worry a little about Ginny. I think Cho is out for good. Can you imagine his first kiss? I can't believe she did that to him...crying through it. Poor Harry deserved better.
HP/HGfan5
I am scared that it'll be R/H because Ron likes her. Harry and Hermione are like soulmates. I just wanted to complement that (P)otter deduction. I was wondering why Hermione's would be an otter of all animals. I was thinking (I don't know if this was mentioned before) but maybe Hermione is really a (book 4 quote) SCARlet woman. I dont know if these are all coincidences but JK is known to choose her words wisely.

Hey... I'm sorta new around hear... but I sure found my way to the H/H pages!!! Itz a natural H/H shipper magnet thing... I agree with all of u guyz... I've ritten up something that shows how basically Harry and Hermione are sort of clear to notice each other:

Cho and Harry
obviously, Harry doesn't have feelings for Cho anymore, and Cho doesn't seem to ahve feelings for Harry either... okay, so they had their little fling and things didn't work out... and even though Harry might look at her once in a while... it's just post-relationship feelings...

- Ginny and Harry
This doesn't seem like it's going to happen, as Ginny has admitted herself (to Hermione) that she doesn't have a crush on Harry anymore... anyway, she seems quite popular with other guys.. and now she's acting more like a friend to Harry

- Loony Lovegood and Harry
Okay.. okay.. crazy idea... but still, J.K is known for her strange twists... I have a slight feeling that I'm going overboard here... let's just think that this is NOT going to happen

That leaves Harry pretty much single... and that leaves him with time to notice Hermione

- Krum and Hermione
They seem to be going pretty strong... but what's going to happen now? I can't see them going anywhere... Krum was only mentioned a few times in this book... and as some of you may know.. it gets pretty hard to maintain a long-distance relationship with someone, unless you're really and truly in love with them... which I don't think Hermione is..

-Ron and Hermione
This is the big 'obstacle'... we all know that true love will find a way and that H&H will get together sooner or later (right?)... but I can tell you one thing... there were many more R/H hints in the 4th book than in the 5th book... so maybe Ron's starting to realise that Hermione's not the one for him... and maybe Hermione's starting to realise the same thing...Sum1 sed that R/H's feeling for each other are like Harry's for Cho... sorta immature and just a crush... i hope... But i truly think that even if R/H get together w00t.gif they won't be able to stay togther for long.. their personalitles are very conflicting

Another thing... RhiandraChristine sed that the way Hermione reacted when she was giving Harry advice on Cho, is very muhc the same way other people do when they have to give advice to the guy they like about sum1 else (cho, in this case).. trust me... I've had to do it myself... and I would have acted in the exact same way Hermione did... could that mean something wub.gif ??

Keep on giving that evidence that H/H luv each other... (even tho we don't really Need evidence, coz we all noe it in our hearts... heart.gif )

Regarding the otter's,

"For an excellent discussion of the legend and mythology of animal transformations, see pages 9-15.

Ook, so I've read the book and from the h/hr perspective, its definitely THE BOOK for the ship..Ive lost count the many times (16 from the last count)
the phrase "harry and hermione" appeared in the pages, but they sure abound, especially in thE Grawp CHAPTER...its like reading a fanfic for that matter.

And the many times Harry went back and saved hermione, goodness, one can get lost in it...let me seee, what I can definitely remember rgiht now are the ff scenes:

1. when they faced grawp, and they made a hasty retreat behind the trees;
2. when they went to the forest, with Umbridge in tow and they faced the centaurs;
3.when , inside the Ministry, where the prophecy was hidden, when Harry gave the signal to smash shelves, he ordered them to run, and the first thing he did was to "grab a handful of hermione's robes" and pulled her forward...wow..

And to think that EVERYBODY was expecting this book to be a R/HR one, this is an unexpected turn of event. A very welcome turn of event indeed.

But most definately post How you YOU think it's a H/Hr moment. Tell us your reasoning.

They are just sat down to begin their charms examination. Harry look towards Hermione and sees her already scribbling away like mad and then looks down to the first question:

"A) give the incatation and cool.gif describe the wand movementrequired to make objects fly.

Harry had a fleeting memory of a club soaring high into the air and landing loudly on the thick skull of a troll. . . .Smiling slightly, he bent over the paper and began to write."

I love this one. He's remembering the moment when she came into his life as a friend. Its a H/Hr moment solely because he could have easily glanced around and saw them both writing furiously ect but his eyes went to Hermione.

Hi, everyone.
I think Harry always has something about Hermione in mind in book 5. Even when he doesn't think about Ron, he thinks about Hermione. Let's say...when Harry was in a training with Snape, the memory of Hermione laid in Hospital wing, petrified occurred to him, and then kissing scene with Cho...Not once the image of Ron appeared here. Also, his some part, shall I say, conscience part is with Hermione's voice.
When he was in a Quidditch practice in the heavy rain, Angelina reminds him of repairing magic. I think this practice scene is invented for hinting that Hermione had helped Harry.
I think J.K. Rowling described Hermione more than Ron, and it must show the importance of Hermione as a best friend and more than that.
Mr.K
Oh come on, that's a bit far fetched right? Even an avid H/Hr shipper like me wouldn't put too much weight on it.

Seriously, if your best friend thinks he's a bad kisser, do you say, Yah you suck? Besides, how would she know? Cho's Harry's first real kiss, the previous chin smack didn't even involve Harry's mouth.

It's just a friendly comment to show support.

I've just finished the book on Sunday! OMG! It took me six hours to read... I finished it at 3:31 in the morning exactly.. yes I was timing ^^ Thank lord for fanfics, they help me read faster!

Anyway, I was also wondering about the otter thing.. JK DID say that she based Hermione on herself.. however, you know how much JK loves to use little twists in her books, and use double meanings and stuff like that. It's kind hard to explain.. ^^'

Oh yeah, and remember the prefect thing? (oh, I'm sooooo descriptive! lol) Harry was suppose to be prefect! Dumbledore seemed really upset that he couldn't make him prefect this year.. meaning Ron was just "second best" for the job. ^^
vanillapuf
Ah, I finished OotP just yesterday - I got a strong H/Hr feeling overall. It's just the confidence Hermione has in him throughout the entire thing - not once does she doubt him. True, she points out flaws in his thinking sometimes, and warns him, but it is not out of doubt it is only to help. I like how Hermione has become his voice of reason...

It's something like this:
"A voice that sounded an awful lot like Hermione's whispered in his ear, Reckless."

One of my favorites is when Hermione is writing to Krum and Harry and Ron are discussing Cho and the kiss and then she explains how Cho must be feeling... and then -

'Ron said, "One person can't feel all that at once, they'd explode."
"Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have," said Hermione nastily, picking up her quill again.'

That just really leads me to believe that she's experienced a bit of the confusion and more complex emotions herself. Could it be the Krum debacle? Maybe a Harry/Krum choice? Or the bigger, Ron/Krum/Harry tangled web of problems? I just think that it was a slight look into Hermione's mind, as in, she probably feels very complex sometimes concerning her love life.

Hey everyone! I just thought I'd share this H/Hr bit with you all from the OotP
Here it is....

"Harry," she said timidly, "don't you see? This...this is exactly why we need you....We need to know what it's rr-really like...facing him... facing V-Voldemort." It was the frist time she had ever said Voldemort's name, and it was this, more than anything else, that calmed Harry.

Hermione comes in and sees Harry holding Ron's prefect badge, and becomes very happy. The she finds out it's Ron who is a prefect and is VERY dissapointed. Hermione tries to cover it up by congratulating Ron.

Obviously Hermione really had a lot of confidance in Harry and would have loved to be a prefect with him so they could spend more time together.

diam0ndgrrl, your post was wonderful!

Can't wait to see more H/Hr moments you guys have found.

Hi, everyone!

Yeah, I think so, too. Against the fact that Hermione is muggle-born, she, along with others, is afraid and scared of calling his name. This is an influence by wizarding world. However, she began to call his name and it shows her feelings that she wants to be brave, and support Harry physically and mentally, emotionally. Subconsciously, she was really affected by Harry's bravery...I think. Because no other people call 'Voldemort'.

This whole conversation is endearing. I like how Harry gets advice from Hermione, although he doesn't really ask for it, she just gives it to him. I wonder why? It's interesting how Harry is the one being confronted by Cho and in GoF by Krum about his relationship with Hermione.

There is a lot of body contact between Harry and Hermione in this book, and as someone else already mentioned, there is not a lot of R/H hints in this book...*LG cheers*

And then later on:

pg. 793

A whine of panic inside his head was preventing him from thinking properly. he had one hand on Hermione's shoulder, which was still warm, yet did not dare to look at her properly. Don't let her be dead, don't let her be dead, it's my fault if she's dead...

LATER:

"Hermione," Harry said at once, shaking her as the baby-headed Death Eater blundered out of sight again. "Hermione, wake up...."

"Whaddid he do to her?" said Neville, crawling out from under the desk again to kneel at her other side, blood streaming rapidly from his nose.

"I dunno...."
Neville gropped for Hermione's wrist.
"Dat's a pulse, Harry, I'm sure id is...."
Such a wave of relief swept through Harry that for a moment he felt light-headed.

I guess that gives new meaning to JKR's quote on how important Hermione is to Harry. smile.gif

Well, those are just some of the H/Hr moments I can think of right now, but I'm sure there is more. I just have to find them. Like I said before, there are not a lot of R/H hints in Ootp, which is very good. But the ship is not completly sunk sad.gif ...yet. But, thankfuly, a lot of other ships are sunk. w00t.gif now all we need is book 6....

For me, the 'and Harry --' sounds having more weight than the kiss on Ron's cheek. I think Hermione just kissed Ron for stray his attention and nervousness towards the Quidditch match to different direction. If Ron blushed at that moment, maybe some tention lies there, one way or another. As you know, Hermione sometimes blushed in front of Ron, whether or not for him, and then, how come she doesn't blush this time? If she is socially insecure or something, or feel something like having crush on Ron, I think she would even slightly blush. But it never occurred, and instead, the phrase...'and Harry --'. What do you think?
jackryan411
True, love all of those especially the one where he thinks of Hermione when Snape's going through his mind...no mention of Ron. Here's some more:

Chapter Title: The Eyes of the Snake
Page: 458
Edition: Scholastic

"Harry looked from Ron's expression of mingled curiousity and hilarity to Hermione's slight frown, and nodded."

Hermione's frowning...hmmm...I wonder why? But later on the same page is a thing that's even more H/Hr.

"Maybe I am."
"Of course you're not, " said Hermione absently, still scribbling away at her letter."

Not only does she deny that Harry's a bad kisser, EVEN though she's never kissed him before, she does it ABSENTLY. Like it's an obvious thing...dunno about you, but I think she's had a few dreams where Harry's a great kisser...heehee...here's another one:

Chapter: Snape's Worst Memory
Page: 637

"Oh yes, I forgot, of course, if it was darling Hermione's idea---"
"Don't start crying again," said Harry warningly.

Notice how he doesn't deny that Hermione's his darling. He just tells her not to cry...earlier on the page, he says he thinks "it was a brilliant idea," about the sneak curse.

Chapter: Out of the Fire
Page: 737

"Even through his anger and impatience Harry recognized Hermioine's offer to accompany him into Umbridge's office as a sign of solidarity and loyalty."

Love that quote...shows how close they are.

Chapter Name: Grawp
Page: 701

"But why does he have to make life so difficult for himself---for us?"

The way she emphasizes, "us," makes me thinks she's talking about only herself and Harry.

Chapter Name: Fight and Flight
Page: 755

"Harry grabbed Hermione and pulled her to the ground. Facedown on the forest floor..."

Heehee...together on the ground, lol...

Chapter Name: Fight and Flight
Page: 758

"Hermione gripped his arm tightly..."
A little bit later on in this page"
"Harry could feel Hermione shaking as Grawp opened his mout wide again..."
Next sentence (after a little bit of Grawp stuff):
"said Hermione, gripping Harry's arm so tightly it was growing numb..."

Sounds like she really clutches Harry when she's scared (she starts gripping his arm when Grawp shows up.) I love the idea of Harry "feeling Hermione."

Chapter: Fight and Flight
Page: 758

"Ron and I will take these two and go ahead, and Hermione can stay here with you three and she'll attract more thestrals--"

Sounds like Harry wants to make sure she's safe...Harry the protector, lol...

Chapter: Beyond the Veil
Page: 786

"Behind him he felt rather than heard Hermione passing his message to the others..."

So now Harry can "feel" when Hermione talks, eh?

Chapter: Beyond the Veil
Page: 793

"A whine of panic inside his head was preventing him thinking properly. He had one hand on Hermione's shoulde, which was still warm, yet did not dare look at her properly. Don't let be dead, don't let her be dead, it's my fault if she's dead...

Geez...he wasn't that upset when Ginny almost died...he can't think properly, lol...cute scene

Chapter: Beyond the Veil
Page: 794

"He stood up and seized one of Hermione's arms, glared at Harry, who hesitated, then grabbed the other and helped hoist Hermione's limp form over Neville's shoulders."

I wonder why Harry's hesitating? Does he want to carry her? Or it could be that he's afraid to touch her because he has a crush on her---you know how R/Hr shippers say that the kiss in GoF shows that she doesn't have a crush on him because supposedly, if you have a crush on someone you don't kiss them on public. Well, in that case, Harry seems hesitant to grab her arm, so if you use their line of thinking...

Chapter: The Second War Begins
Page: 870

"Really soon, Harry," said Hermione earnestly. "We promise."

Sounds like she's eager to see Harry again soon. Also she's the last one to talk to him before he says how much it meant to him...blah...blah...anyway, the point is that she's the last one to talk to him before he goes off. Same in GoF, except Fred and George did their little spiel about thanking Harry. She always says bye to him after Ron, almost like she can't let go.

Anyway, that's all that I have for now and that's not even mentioning all the ones you guys pointed out...talk to you all later and make sure you eat lots of pumpkin pie!
jackryan411
Here's another one:

Chapter: Grawp
Page: 688

"He[Hagrid] stopped suddenly and turned around; Hermione walked right into him and was knocked over backward. Harry caught her just before she hit the forest floor.

***Hagrid says something.***

"Good!" said Hermione, as Harry set her back on her feet."

Oooh...BODY CONTACT, people, BODY CONTACT!
jackryan411
Hmmm...true, Faith...my opinion about the absent way she says that Harry's not a bad kisser is that perhaps she's had some dreams where Harry's a good kisser...hehheh...that would explain the ABSENT-minded tone she says it in.

Chapter 27
Chapter Names:The Centaur and the Sneak
'Haven't we got a counter-jinx for this?' Fudge asked Umbridge impatiently, gesturing at Marietta's face. 'So she can speak freely?'

'I have not yet managed to find one,' Umbridge admitted grudgingly, and Harry felt a surge of pride in Hermione's jinxing ability.

See? Thinking about Hermione seems to be a nature to Harry. He felt pride of her!

Hi, guys!
I found out other things. I don't really remember what chapter, maybe before Mr Weasley are attacked, but when Harry is having weired dream about Cho. Cho is condemning Harry about Chocolate Frog, saying he promised to give her the card...and then she turned out to be Hermione. There is no Ron, again. How many times that kind of thing occurred in book 5. Cho turns out to be Hermione, Hermione looks more important than Cho...that sort of thing.

Also, while Cho's Petronus is a swan, Hermione's is an otter. A swan is, how can I say, swifiting or sliding? ON the water, and a otter is swimming IN the water. It looks like a comparison that a crush on Cho is just about appearance and is superficial, but on Hermione, it's much deeper...

As for Cho kissing Harry, I think Hermione got quite shocked. When she asked Harry, she said 'Did you kiss?', not 'Did you kiss her?' Even though she asked briskly, it sounded a bit weired to me. Maybe she doesn't really complete this sentence because she might want to refuse to hear the fact that they had kissed on the lips. Yes, she asked briskly here, but after that, when she explained to things to Harry, JKR used the expression 'vaguely' a few times. I think this shows the contrast of Hermione's emotional mood. That's why I assumed she got quite shocked. Also, when she explained Cho's feeling towards two men, Cedric and Harry, with quite details, like she know exactly how it feels to have feelings towards two men. I think she doesn't only explain Cho's feelings, but also Hermione herself's feeling for Harry and Ron. Because her feeling for Ron is changing...or fading?

I can't help guessing. Hehehe... blushing.gif

I've been re-reading the 5th book and marking down all the H/Hr moments. As of the moment, I have 16 and am on page 565. I plan to write them all up.

I have my own theories on Hermione's comment about Harry being a good kisser - but I'm going to hang fire on that one for a moment!!

BUT - the reason why she said "Did you kiss" as opposed to "Did you kiss her?" would mean she would have known if Harry kissed Cho or if Cho kissed Harry. By phrasing the question as just "did you kiss?" - she either doesn't want to know - OR she knew full well Harry wouldn't have instigated the kiss in the first place.

I think...Mmm

Hey!
You have all made wonderful points! I have to re - read the book and see if I can spot really small hints of Harry and Hermione! biggrin.gif They are so gorgeous together! *dreamy sigh*

Congratulations on all your great points! I'll be back soon to see if I have found anymore! Keep going!

I must say that I have enjoyed reading all of the wonderful H/Hr scenes you have listed here... I would add my own but due to the fact that I have lent my ONLY copy of the book to my father (who hasn't finished it yet grumblegrumblegrumble) I do need to bring up one thing...

I was watching Diamond Rio's video for "I Believe" and I immediately saw in my mind... Harry holding Hermione praying that she wasn't dead...

Once I have the book back I am going to re-read again... and then I may add some other scenes that I wanted to include...

JKR is definitely dropping hints about a H/Hr pairing... at least in this fans mind... besides... I think Ron and Luna will end up together!

Hey! I thought of one!

Chapter: The Lost Prophecy (37)
Page: 832
Edition: Hardback, US

I don't know how well Harry and Hermione this is, but I thought that I should point it out.

"He did not wish to tell me," said Dumbledore. "But I am a sufficiently accomplished Legilimens myself to know when I am being lied to and I - persuaded him - to tell me the full story, before I left for the Department of Mysteries."

"And," whispered Harry, his hands curled in cold fists on his knees, "and Hermione kept telling us to be nice to him -"

"She was quite right, Harry," said Dumbledore . . . ."

In this passage, Harry clearly recalls all the times Hermione warned everyone about that wretched House Elf. It kind of shows that Harry does listen to Hermione and remembers what she says. It also shows that he is always thinking about her and always recalls her at different moments.

Another would be during the History of Magic part of the O.W.Ls . . . .

Chapter: O.W.L.s (31)
Page: 725
Edition: Hardback US

"Describe the circumstances that led to the Formation of the International Confederation of Wizards and explain why the warlocks of Liechtenstien refused to join.

I know this, Harry thought, though his brain felt torpid and slack. He could visualize a heading, in Hermione's handwriting: The Formation of the International Confederation of Wizards . . . "

It seems to me that Hermione is always on Harry's mind, even when he doesn't realize it, for it is her voice that he hears a part of his mind speak in. Not Ron's, not Ginny's, not Sirius's *sob* or Remus's, or Luna's, but Hermione's. There clearly is a connection between the two, and I think that with each year that passes, it grows stronger and stronger.

I know that I haven't made my point very clear, but this is my first time posting something like this . . . . give me a little slack please! blushing.gif crying.gif

Well, great points everyone! Keep going! biggrin.gif

I don't have my book with me at the moment, but this is the chapter where they are confronted by the Death Eaters in the MoM, and Harry shouts at everyone to run. Now (and I think I've said this in another thread), when Harry starts to run, he reaches for Hermione to drag her along with him (even though he wasn't thinking properly at the moment), and, when they're running, he doesn't seem to hear anyone else shouting things, but he hears Hermione using a stunning spell and trying to get Neville to hurry up *^.^*

Chapter: The department of mysteries
page: 683
edition: UK

"What do you mean, 'in there'"? demanded Hermione, jumping down from the bottom step and sounding much angrier than the occasion warranted, "there isnŽt any "in there", its just an archway, thereŽs no room for anybody to be there. Harry, stop it, come away-" She grabbed his arm and pulled, but he resisted.

Chapter: Beyond the veil
page 692
edition: UK

"Did you know heŽs a half-blood too?" said Harry recklessly. Hermione gave a little moan in his ear.

And then he found someones toes and pressed down upon them. A sharp intake of breath behind him told him they were Hermiones.

page: 696
Harry ducked down behind another desk as the man turned; his mask had slipped so that he couldŽnt see. He ripped it off with his free hand and shouted: "Stup-"
"STUPEFY!" screamed Hermione, who had just caught up with them

page: 696
the second DE, however, had leapt aside to avoid Harrys spell and was pointing his own wand at Hermione, who was crawling out from under the desk to get a better aim. "Avada-" Harry launched himself across the floor and grabbed the Death Eater around the knees...

Chapter: Out of the fire
page: 658
And taking a deep breath, she cried, "Cruc---""No!" shouted Hermione in a cracked voice from behind MB "No-Harry-weŽll have to tell her!"
"No way!" yelled Harry, staring at the little of Hermione he could see.
"WeŽll have to, Harry, sheŽll force it out of you anyway, whats...whats the point?" And Hermione began to cry weakly ....
But Harry had just noticed something. Though Hermione was sobbing desperatly into her hands, there was no trace of a tear.

He looks very exactly at her, donŽt he?

Chapter: grawp
page: 611

Harry looked at Hermione, who peered back at him from between the fingers over her face. "Kind of makes you wish we had Norbert back, doesnŽt it?" he said, and she gave a very shaky laugh.

That is it.
