Hmm...very good point HarHermlove4ever...most guys when they want to discuss dating and stuff talk to guys...and another thing, I don't think they're placing bets, I think most of them assume they're going out...but I wouldn't be surprised if they were.
harrypotteraddict
well... ive been keeping up w/ all the new posts here and i luv reading all these wonderful h/hr moments cause they re the best couple ever and i dunno... they just fit together REALLY well... alrite, so im reading the 5th book over again and i found a luvly moment in the book that im fairly sure hasnt been posted yet so here goes:

(american ed. pg 195.... "Luna Lovegood"... about 5 pgs from the end of that chapter for those lookin it up... biggrin.gif )

... okay so ron and hermione have been back from their prefect meeting and are in the compartment w/ harry, ginny, luna, and neville... its starts when malfoy shows up during the middle of the confrontation...

"Tell me, how does it feel being second-best to Weasley, Potter?" he[Malfoy] asked.
"Shut up, Malfoy," said Hermione sharply.
"I seemed to have touched a nerve," said Malfoy, smirking. "Well. just watch yourself, Potter, because I'll be dogging your footsteps in case you step out of line."
"Get out!" said Hermione, standing up.
Sniggering, Malfoy gave Harry a last malicious look and departed, Crabbe and Goyle lumbering in his wake. Hermione slammed the door behind them and turned to look at Harry, who knew at once that she, like him, had registered what Malfoy had said and been just as unnerved by it.
"Chuck us another Frog," said Ron, who clearly noticed, nothing.
Harry could not talk freely in front of Neville and Luna. He exchanged another nervous look with Hermione and then stared out of the window.

okay, so that was it... this moment really emphasizes how Hermione watches out for Harry and how they both pick up on the same kind of things.... unlike Ron and i guess Ginny too, who also knew about Sirius... Ron, whose character i love as long as it is platonically involved w/ Hermione, again shows his amazing skill at missing very obvious things... like the lack of romatic feeling Hermione has for him...**I hope!!** All he was concerned w/ was food and the 'dog' comment went completely over his head.... and although my moment wasnt necessarily a romatic/jealsous scene it does show the strong and understading relationship that h/hr do have (example: "Harry could not talk freely in front of Neville and Luna. He exchanged another nervous look with Hermione and then stared out of the window." Harry knows Hermione gets things that others dont...).. which are the best kind to have first in a relationship that will last... such as the one i hope that jk rowling will have for h/hr... but it is her books so i dunno what will happen... a girl can dream though so hey...
jackryan411
Good point, harrypotteraddict! I loved when Malfoy said, "Struck a nerve?"
LilaBelle
i dont know if it has been already posted or not, but i aboslutely LOVE the scene in the woods when ron shows up and it says harry and hermione moved INTINCTIVELY together......to me it just proves how close h/hr r i mean they just have the perfect subconcious bond biggrin.gif
pnkrkprincess91
Can you find the exact passage? I'd love to read it!

do u mean the instinctively thing???...that's on page 760(american edition)

it says: (spoilers)

"Well, we can'tdo anything without wands, "said Hermione hopelessly, dragging herself up again. "Anyway, Harry, how exactly were you planning to get all the way to London?"
"Yeah, we were just wondering that,"said a familiar voice from behind her.
Harry and Hermione moved instinctively together, peering through the trees, as Ron came into sight, closely followed by Ginny, Neville, and Luna.

it's only one word..i just liked the fact that JKR chose that word to describe how they looked through the trees, i mean she could of just said Haryy and Hermione turned, peering through the trees...

i dont know if im being paranoid but in the last page of ootp when ron says "we'll se you soon mate"
and then hermione says "really soon,we promise"

that got me worried too, but considering that Harry must be at the dursleys, due of the protection he has on his blood.
and problebly Hermione and Ron will head down to the OOTP much earlier then Harry.
and they used the same kind of word, like "we wanted to tell you but Dumbledore did no allowed it", when harry was over to the OOTP the first time in the begining of the book so.
i donīt think it sounds like a HG/RW are a couple comforting their friend.

but the question is, How long time are HG/RW gona be alone?,could the time they are alone could that start a short HG/RW relationship.
it is a very big Maybe that that could happend, but a very small opportunity to that to happend.

what i think is that Hermione and Ron will do what they can do to get him out of the dursleys as fast as OOTP allows it.
Ariadne
well, I won't pretend that I didn't think about that but I think we ought to excerise caution. WE is the 1st person plural, so it doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be a romantic thing. Don't forget they are all friends and I refer to myself and my friends as WE so..it's all very difficult when you're as analytical as we pumpkin heads!
briarswt
Don't sweat it guys.

There's no reason for R/Hr to hide a relationship from Harry if they WERE dating. He had Cho. Besides, look at Ron's reaction to Hermione's kiss on the cheek. Obviously that was the first time she'd done that to Ron which pretty much closes the door on any relationship happening in the summer before. So chin up!

That was in the beginning of the OOTP Chapter 1 Page 13, Bloomsbury:

QUOTE
'We can't say much about you-know-what obviously ... We've been told not to say anything in case our letters go astray...'

Hermione had scribbled 'I expect we'll be seeing you soon' inside his birthday card

Did an R/H relationship happen at the beginning of OOTP? No, it didn't both Romulus Lupin and myself posted reasons as to how it couldn't have happened in the Harry/Hermione forum.

It's just like Ariadne said, plus they are together, he is not - it's just a show of support for Harry and JKR wanted you to think that something had happened - even though it hadn't!LOL!
jackryan411
Yeah, thereader is right...I don't see a secret relationship at this point at all. Two Mugglenet editorialists seem to think so ( rolleyes.gif ) but hey, they can think whatever they want to think.
harryhermione
no i mean right at the end when there're going home read the last page you'll see it thereader
Asriel
They're not the ones who've lost the godfather, Harry is the one who is going to have to come to terms with Sirius' death - it's just a show of combined support for Harry, by his friends. It has also been put there by JKR to make any reader feel that something's going on or might be go on there (like you felt there was). It's nothing more than JKR playing with our minds - she does it in the beginning of the book and she's doing it at the end. As Ariadne said; 'WE is the 1st person plural, so it doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be a romantic thing. Don't forget they are all friends'.

Before OOTP, I must confess that I felt that JKR would make it look like Ron and Hermione were much closer than they were in any previous book. In fact I talked to a friend about this months before OOTP was released and both of us agreed that this would happen - JKR did this, but did it to a much lesser degree than I had expected. biggrin.gif

In fact, I also thought that the Harry/Ginny bond would be much stronger than it actually was shown to be in OOTP - but you can clearly see something - they're talking now.

This is necessary to accomplish, if one wants to make H/H the surprise ship and use R/H and H/G as the decoys. Thus, JKR has done exactly what I expected her to do! No need to worry about this! In fact, if she' hadn't; I'm telling ya, I'd be worried, very worried!
HarHermlove4ever
I am not worried and you shouldn't either. about the "WE" PROMISE MEAN R/HERMIONE ARE TOGETHER" I think...when hermione said that to harry..she means...that all of us.(.Pro Lupin, and those three advance guard and Weasley will be there for you) that is what i think. so don't you lost sleep over this statement. it mean nothing!!
jackryan411
Yeah, HarHermLove4ever is right...I think Herms was referring to all of them...besides, wouldn't it seem way too shippy if she said, "I promise." Seriously, don't overreact, everyone! biggrin.gif
harryhermione
well thanks guys
anyway i was just re-reading harry potter ootp for the third time yesterday and you know the part where rons made prefect, well something there caught my eye
after ron goes after his mum to tell which broomstick he'll like, it goes something like,
For some reason, harry found he did not want to look at hermione.he turned to his bed (blah blah cant remember)
"harry?"said hermione tentatively
"well done, hermione"said harry, so HEARTILY it did not sound like his voice at all (blah blah it continues like that but in the scene with ron
ron comes into the room
"just caught her" he said happily. "she says she'll get the cleansweep if she can."
"cool" said harry, and he was relieved to hear that his voice had STOPPED sounding hearty
so harry can look at ron and talk to him normallt but somehow cant look at hermione or speek to her in his usual voice
he doesnt seem to know why i wonder whats going on
jackryan411
Yeah, he's just EMBARRASSED that he's not a prefect, especially in front of Herms, who should be a prefect. Of course...Harry had resolved his feelings about the prefectness when Ron came in.
Grace Granger
I'd like to say that I don't think of that last scene as a romantic moment, but sometimes I think that Hermione means "we" as in her. Not that "we" isn't true, but it means more for her to say it for him because she cares for him in that non-friendship way. Know what I mean?

And I think that Harry was ashamed at his not becoming Prefect, so he couldn't look at her because of that shame.
Grace Granger
Also, I don't know if this moment has been mentioned. But it's really something that I find quite nice. I can't tell you what page or whatever b/c I'm at work.

It's the scene where Hagrid is teaching them about threstrals. After class, Hermione says she wishes she could see them; Harry asks her quietly if she does; she freaks because she just realized what she wished for; and then Harry "apologizes" by saying don't worry. If Ron hadn't interrupted I wonder where the conversation would have ended up.

When you compare that scene to the one at the end of the book, where Ron says the same thing and Harry snaps, I find it cute. Then again, Harry was in a stressful situation at the end of the book, he was snapping at everyone. Still, I like it because instead of being sarcastic and loud, as he usually was in this book, he asked her quietly.
HarHermlove4ever
I don't think..Harry is "ashamed" of not beening Perfect. But he was dissappointed..or little "Mad" that he gone and done all those past deadly event..from Voldemort..saving everyone and he think nobody seem to care or it not important. He also thought...that he was good at something else..beside beening great qudditch seeker...he thought that he was smart at something else. That why?...Harry had that kind of harsh voice to Hermione. He thinkss...that Hermione thinks..he is stupid...which is not true.

well..that what I think.. wub.gif
jackryan411
Wow, great point about the quietness of Harry when talking to Hermione... wub.gif Dang it...why was Ron in that scene? It could've been even cuter than it already is.
HarHermlove4ever
jackryan411 what do you mean?..Why Ron was in scene?..it could've been even cuter. Why would it be cuter if Ron was in scene?...it should be RON SHOULDN'T BE IN SCENE.it would be HARR/HERM MOMENT...Right?..is that what you trying to said.

Yeh..i thought that scene was H/hr moment. I don't know about you guys..
jackryan411
Yeah, so did I...of course, I think everything where Harry and Hermione are mentioned in the same breath is a H/Hr moment. When I re-read OotP (after I re-read GoF), I think I'll post some more. biggrin.gif
harryhermione
i dont really think this is a harryhermione moment but i still think its cute

you know the part after marietta sells all the da group out and cho and harry have an argument
"that was a really mean trick of hermione grangers she should have told us shed jinxed the paper"said cho
"i think it was a great idea" said harry coldly
"oh of course if it was darling hermiones idea_"
"dont cry again"
whats interesting about this scene is the way harry interrupts cho as she was talking about how harry loves hermione(well that is what she was getting at)
and harry not bothering to correct her, not taking hermiones advice, he knows what cho's bothered about but doesnt correct her
just an idea
jackryan411
Yeah he doesn't correct her about Hermione being his darling or not...it was cute....lol, I loved Harry in that scene. tongue.gif
Caramella
I really have to say...

I think the Harry/Hermioneness was REALLY emphasized in this book. Not so much to be staring you in the face, but just little things here and there. For instance, in the chapter "Grawp"

At one point, when Harry and Hermione are following Hagrid into the forest, Hagrid stops and turns around, cause Hermione to bump into him and fall over backwards. It was in writing that Harry caught her just before she hit the floor. THEN Hagrid says something, and THEN Harry helps her to her feet. Hermione was in his arms for awhile then, eh? innocent.gif

Then only a few pages later, Grawp tries to grab Hermione, only for Harry to seize her and pull her behind the tree, where she shakes and whispers "clinging" to Harry.

I`m sorry, but how can this possibly NOT turn into more than a platonic relationship?!?!?!
cxcx
To me, Hermione made her choice in book four. Ron gets mad at Harry and they aren't speaking. From then on Hermione basically spends all her time with Harry and is never metioned as doing anything with Ron, beyond trying to get him to talk to Harry, the whole time they are not talking. If she was so interested in Ron I don't think she would have almost totally stopped hanging out with him, even if she thought he was wrong. Harry is busy with the tournament some of this time, but not for most of it, only about the last week or so. Plus its not like she doesn't have anything else to do because Victor Krum is there and he is interested in her.

It seems like the whole book Hermione has Ron and Victor after her, and all that she seems to care about is Harry. She never seems very interested in Krum. So much so that Krum has to ask Harry what is up, because all Hermione ever talks about is Harry. He also has to drag her away from Harry after they come out of the lake so he can ask her to visit him. And Ron does not seem to get very much attention from Hermione at all. Ron just spends all his time obsessing over her and Victor's "relationship" which does not seem to impress her.

I wonder How McGonagall did know that Hermione was the one who said that?
I mean she was very far away and I doubt Hermione gos to her and tell her what she told Harry.

I think that McGonagall is guessing. It's the KIND of thing that Hermione Would say. It's so logical.

Harry+Hermione Moments..ooohhh wo0o0w too many lol! I'll name the ones I like most::

--Beyond The Veil Pg.785
And then he found someone's toes and presed down on them. A sharp intake of breath behind him told him they were Hermione's.

--Beyond the Veil Pg.793
Such a powerful wave of relief swept through Harry that for a moment he felt lightheaded.
**Reading that just showed his concern and care for Hermione biggrin.gif

I'll just leave those two..I don't feel like naming anymore lol. Cxcx..what you wrote I totally agree with and I never thought about it in that way before..until you wrote it. sorcerer.gif

wow you guys just proved h/hr DOES happen in book5!! i would never have thought of all that stuff as h/hr.....thank you soooo much, as i can not imagine them not ending up together.....also (i'm sorry if i offend you) but could we plz not trash ron? its just...i was reading a fanfic where he died and i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOO because its just ron that helps put the funny bits in......i dont know, its not that i'm not rooting for h/hr (I AM I AM!!!) but ron is a good guy, and just because he has/had a crush on hermione doesnt mean he's a bad person, thats all.

i love the grawp scene, and the one from book2 (i know, i know, this is about book5..) when harry and ron see hemione petrified for the 1st time, harry just holds onto hermione's hand and just kind of stares disbelievingly (well sry but i havent read that one in a while)

basically i love you guys for doing this topic!!! lol

My favourite "moment" is every time Harry thinks of Hermione (which is quite often).
