Hello fellow shipmates!
I want to ask your valuable help in a project that interest me a lot. It tries to compile all the lines that speak volumes in favor of H/H or against contrary pairings.
It would be interesting if we got at least 50 phrases from canon. Please add a pharse in a format similar to this:
1. "Me! Books! And CLEVERNESS! There are more important things--friendship and BRAVERY and--oh, Harry, be careful!"-- (Hermione, referring to Harry's LOVE, HP&SS)
2. "Of course you're not," (Hermione, giving an opinion about if Harry is a bad kisser, HP&OoTP)
3. "Just because You've the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have!" (Hermione, expressing a dejecting opinion of Ron, HP&OoTP)
Please people help me finding canon evidence that is short and straight to the heart! Thanks!!

4: "But I don't think you're ugly"(Harry's bemused response after Hermione suggests that she should have mentioned to Cho how ugly she was pg. 504-505, UK Edition | pg. 571-573, US Edition)
Hope this one fits the bill.

Hope this one works...it is my favorite quote...it's even my signature
"That was a horrible trick of Hermione Granger's," said Cho fiercely. "She should have told us she'd jinxed that list--"
"I think it was a brilliant idea," said Harry coldly. Cho flushed and her eyes grew brighter.
"Oh yes, I forgot-- if it was darling Hermione's idea--" (Harry standing up for Hermione at all costs! OoTP pg 367)
Yea...I was in an anti-Cho mood...
"I saw Cho earlier," said Hermione tentatively, "and she looked really miserable too...Have you two had a row again?"
"Wha-oh yea we have," said Harry, seizing gratefully on the excuse.
"What about?" (Hermione showing excessive intrest in Harry's love life OoTP pg 652)
"Ginny used to fancy Harry, but she gave up on him months ago." (Smart Hermione disproving the Harry/Ginny ship...and when is Hermione wrong? pg 348 OoTP)

8. "So what have you two been doing, if you're not allowed in meetings" he demanded. "You said you'd been busy?" --- He said this 'looking anywhere but at Ron and Hermione' meaning, aside from anger, he felt afraid or ashamed about that topic. It was bec. he felt left out or just a tad bit jealous given his musings several pages earlier, 'he could hardly bear to think of the pair of them having fun at the burrow when he was stuck in privet drive' -- OotP, page 8; 'why had ron and hermione got together without inviting him too' -- OotP, page 10
This and the other quotes practically squashed the notion that Harry would be fine with the R/Hr pairing

THIS IS FUN, SEARCHING THROUGH MY BOOK FOR QUOTES!
Sorry...I'm trying not to use the usual quotes...
9. "One more word about Harry's love life and the deal's off and that's a promise," Hermione said irritably. (exactly why is Hermione so irritable? note, she's no longer defending Harry, SHE'S ANGRY! pg 565 OoTP)
But then...we have the coolest quote!
10. "Don't let her be dead, don't let her be dead, it's my fault if she's dead..." (Finally, everyone sees that Hermione means as much to Harry as he does to her! aww...sadness, man, I was cringing when I first read that...OoTP pg 735)
Hope I've helped...reading between the lines is easy...but it's SOOO HARD convincing others to do so too!

Thanks
Nia, it is a lot of work there. Excellent. That will be of help for us to find more easily quotes .

And thanks to those who have already been adding to this project.
Just let me differentiate this a little though.
Here we will get one liners (or not more than two lines of dialogue or thought from Harry, etc) from the books and add a little comment to put it in context and show very briefly why it's proHH or anti HR/R or H/G, adding where book it was taken from. It should be by the end a crushing ammount of evidence in favor of the Harmony ship and very easy to read. Please everybody help in this endevour!!

Sorry...it hurts my head too much looking through all those quotes...quite a collection, but there's EVERY QUOTE KNOWN TO MAN THERE, How long did it take you???
Ok...I'm officially in a DoM moment...
11. "Very well--take the smallest one," she ordered the Death Eaters beside her. "Let him watch while we torture the little girl. I'll do it." Harry felt the others close in around Ginny." (OK, where's the big reaction? When the possiblity of Harry being tortured was thrown out into the open, I don't remember Ginny getting all nervous and screaming WE HAVE TO TELL HER HARRY! And this reaction is nothing compared to when Hermione fell later on...OoTP pg 783)
Man...I really love this book...
12. "RUN!' Harry yelled, and as the shelves swayed precariously and more glass spheres began to pour from above, he seized a handful of Hermione's robes and dragged her forward, one arm over his head as chunks of shelf and shards of glass thundered down upon them." (See! This is officially a fun quote!! It wasn't Ginny that he grabbed, and she was closest to the death eaters, or luna, IT WAS HERMIONE!

OoTP pg 787)
Hope I was of some help! Carry on!

I don't know about you guys, but for me the line
| QUOTE |
| "Even through his anger and impatience, Harry recognised Hermione’s offer to accompany him into Umbridge’s office as a sign of solidarity and loyalty" |
the moment when I first read that line, it just warmed my heart...

It's one of the many moments in OOTP where Harry is really starting to realize how much Hermione means to him and how clearly Hermione really feels about Harry for she hasn't showed that much loyalty and solid solidarity to anyone (including Ron) but Harry. I hope I make sense...
But of coarse the DoM scene is still the best, it's priceless!

14. "Her – my – oh – nee,’ she said, slowly and clearly.
‘Herm – own – ninny.’
‘Close enough,’ she said, catching Harry’s eye and grinning.” (Hermione's happy that Harry's listening to her on her date...although we know Harry fancied Cho...Hermione was definitly happy...pg 364 GoF)
more...GoF this time...
15. "Harry, you were brilliant!’ Hermione said squeakily. There were fingernail marks on her face where she had been clutching it in fear. ‘You were amazing! You really were!" (I've never once seen Hermione so nervous over Ron...it's sort of sadly obvious who she cares for more...sry Ron

Sorry don't have the books with me, but this was the moment that I became a H/Hr shipper.
‘Are you going to report me?’ Harry asked her, grinning.
‘Oh – of course not – but honestly, Harry –’”POA when Harry sneaked into Hogsmeade with the invisibility cloak and Hermione fretting over it.
It was total flirting on Harry's part, I blushed when I read this.

Yea...if u wanna' see flirting...man...
17. "Well...yes,' said Hermione quietly. 'That is where I got the idea...but you'll notice I decided to engrave the date on bits of metal rather than on our members' skins...'
'Yeah...I prefer your way,' said Harry, grinning, as he slipped his Galleon into his pocket. (it's sooo cuteee!!

pg 399 OoTP)
18. "When he looked up to take a drink of pumpkin juice, he found Hermione watching him.
'What?" he said thickly."

Here is ,possibly, some more flirting...not sure.
19. "people keep looking at me now," said Hermione grumpily as they came out of Honeydukes Sweetshop later, eating large cream-filled chocolates. " They think I'm talking to myself."
" Don't move your
lips so much then." ( GOF pg. 318)
Does anyone else find this somewhat shippy? He was wearing an invisibilty cloak and knew she couldn't see what he was looking at. From the quote above I think we could all safely assume he was watching her eat her chocolate and maybe even the way she was moving her lips.
20. " You didn't say you'd written to Sirius!"
" I forgot."
"Don't look at me like that, Hermione, there was no way anyone could have gotten secret information out of it, was there, Sirius?"
"No it was very good," said Sirius,
smiling (OOTP pg.301)
Just thought was a little shippy because to me Sirius was smiling because of the seen in front of him between Harry and Hermione, and he immediately changes the subject back to business after that.

love all the flirting quotes. I think H/Hr are just so unaware of their flirting towards eachother...anyway...here's my quote. I just had to add this one:
21. "Bye Harry!" said Hermione, and she did something she had never done before, and kissed him on the cheek. (GOF p636 UK/Canadian Version) Hermione saying good bye to Harry before he goes off to Uncle Vernon.
That quote blasted me for miles. I was squeeing so much after that.

Have we stopped updating???
23. Dear Ron, and Harry if you’re there,
I hope everything went all right and that Harry is OK and that you didn’t do anything illegal to get him out, Ron, because that would get Harry into trouble, too. I’ve been really worried and if Harry is all right will you please let me know at once, but perhaps it would be bet ter if you used a different owl, because I think another delivery might finish your one off.
I’m very busy with school work, of course – ‘How can she be?’ said Ron in horror. ‘We’re on holiday!’ – and we’re going to London next Wednesday to buy my new books. Why don’t we meet in Diagon Alley? (point? the entire letter was basically about Harry!! And when she talked about meeting them all at Diagon Alley...she meant, her, Ron AND HARRY! She has her proriety's set in order...CoS pg 45)

24. "At that very moment, Hermione appeared at his shoulder; she was holding her cloak over her head and was, inexplicably, beaming.
'I’ve had an idea, Harry! Give me your glasses, quick!’
He handed them to her and, as the team watched in amazement, Hermione tapped them with her wand and said, ‘Impervius!" (I like how she's always there right when Harry needs her...she's always there in general actually...PoA pg 177)
25. "Did you even come to the match?’ he asked her.
‘Of course I did,’ said Hermione" (See, it's sweet that even when they're fighting; Hermione comes to see him play quidditch...she wouldn't have ever left his match...not even to go follow Hagrid into the forest and help him with "his little friend"...)PoA pg 264)
YAY, WE'RE HALF WAY DONE!! I hope you guys all update, this is a really fun project...

My Favourite quote comes from POA, when harry gets his letter from Hermione.
| QUOTE |
Dear Harry, Ron wrote to me and told me about his phone call with your uncle Veron. I hope your all right. I'm on holiday in France at the moment and i didn't know how i was going to send this to you- what if they'd opened it at customs?- but then Hedwig turned up! I think she wanted to make sure you got something for your birthday for a change. I bought your present by owl-order; there was an advertisement in the Daily Prophet (I've been getting it delivered, it's so good to keep up with what' s going on in the wizarding world). Did you see that picture of Ron and his family a week ago? I bet he's learnign loads, I'm really jealous- the ancient Egyptian wizards were fascinating. There's some interesting local history of witchcraft here, too. I've re-written my whole Histroy of Magic essay to include some of the things I've found out. I hope it's not too long, it's two rolls of parchment more than professor Binns asked for. Ron says he's going to be in London inthe last week of the holidays. Can you make it? Will your aunt and uncle let you come? I really hope you can. If not, I'll see you on the hogwarts express on September the first! Love from Hermione

People, please let's try to update more! Me shall find more quotes! Effects of GoF veela today...
27. And the veela danced faster and faster...He wanted to do something impressive right now.
Jumping from the box onto the stadium seemed a good idea...but would it be enough?"
'Harry what're you doing?" said Hermione's voice from a long way off. (Most of the other boys including Ron were doing similar tricks, i.e. Ron looked like he was going to dive into the stands, but it's Harry she stops. GoF pg 103.)
28. As one, the Weasley boys and Harry stuffed their fingers into their ears, but Hermione, who hadn't bothered, was soon tugging on Harry's arm.
He turned to look at her and she pulled his fingers impatiently out of his ears.
'Look at the referee." she said giggiling." (this is cute in itself, Hermione pulling harry's fingers out of his ears...very cute picture, yay, and Harry is no longer effected by the Veela...the only other person un-affected, as many people have noticed, is Mr. Weasley, who is already married and very much in love

GoF pg 110)
29. "Did I tell you I've invented a broomstick that'll reach jupiter?"
'Honestly!' said Hermione
and she and Harry grabbed Ron firmly by the arms, wheeled him around and marched him away." (AWESOME, HARRY IS STILL NOT EFFECTED BY THE VEELA! points for h/hr! coincidence? I think not... Gof pg 126.)
Well, that's my contribution to the quidditch world cup, well I hope everyone updates...

I haven't! But I need to check an original, because I don't wanna mistranslate from Swedish... It was something I saw in PoA the other day, but someone might have already thought of it. I'll be back when I got exact quote.
ETA: OK, now I've been off to
Anazecria's page to get an exact quote. Sorry for stealing, but I did find it on my own first. Just in a different language.
PoA, Chapter 5, The Dementor, pg. 60, UK Paperback Edition
“Harry explained all about Mr and Mrs Weasley’s argument and the warning Mr Weasley had just given him. When he’d finished, Ron looked thunderstruck, and Hermione had her hands over her mouth. She finally lowered them to say, ‘Sirius Black escaped to come after you? Oh, Harry … you’ll have to be really, really careful. Don’t go looking for trouble, Harry …’
‘I don’t go looking for trouble,’ said Harry, nettled. ‘Trouble usually finds me.’What I really liked here is that Harry got "nettled" that Hermione would think that he's "looking for trouble". Doesn't want her to have a bad impression of him, me thinks.

And Hermione is overly worried about him as usual. And eventhough both Ron and Hermione are shocked, she is the one who first manages to come out of it.

No problem...I think the project's really good, I like helping...anyway, I'M FINALLY HOME FROM SCHOOL (1/2 day AND I WANNA' ADD MORE QUOTEs)!
this one is sort of a compact group of quotes...but I like it...
31. "Hermione made an impatient noise and began to eat at top speed again.
‘Don’t tell me you’re going back to the library this evening?’ said Harry, watching her. ‘Got to,’ said Hermione thickly. ‘Loads to do.’
‘But you told us Professor Vector –’
‘It’s not schoolwork,’ she said." (It's cute, because Harry really doesn't want her to go...and he's shows it really sweetly, he's even arguing with her not to go... GoF pg 208...)
But what gets me about this quote is that 2 pgs later...
32. "The only person missing was Hermione, who turned up just in time for the lesson.
‘Been in the –’
‘– library,’ Harry finished her sentence for her." (Which goes back to the whole Harry sub-consciously in love with Hermione, he's been keeping tabs on where she's been, he hasn't wanted her to go to the library...and he noticed that she was missing...true, you could go back to the Good Ship theory...but doesn't his constant wondering where she is have a bit of a different tone than he usually has for Ron? Do you digress? GoF pg 210)
Oh and then, I dunno if the next quote's really shippy, but it's cute...
33. "But the Fat Lady had barely begun to swing forwards, when the sound of racing feet behind them announced Hermione’s arrival.
‘Harry!’ she panted, skidding to a halt beside him (the Fat Lady stared down at her, eyebrows raised). ‘Harry, you’ve got to come – you’ve got to come, the most amazing thing’s happened – please –’
She seized Harry’s arm and started to try to drag him back along the corridor.
‘What’s the matter?’ Harry said.
‘I’ll show you when we get there – oh, come on, quick –" (See, but Hermione was happy, really happy and she wanted to share her happiness, house-elf intermingled, with Harry...not with Ron who asked her a minute later if they had changed spew to the house-elf liberation front...see, Harry+Hermione=awesomeness...man, I'm just losing myself here...GoF pg 373)
Hope I helped, I'll try having more quotes next time, that are more canon based...this are more speculative...but they are reading
in-between the lines

Yay...it's o' clock in the morning, my current temperate is 102 degrees, but what's it without searching for quotes?
This one's used commonly, but I think it's good...
34. "Well, I’m glad you listen to Hermione Granger at any rate,’ she said, pointing him out of her office.” (It's a subtle way of showing how Harry hasn't yet realized how important Hermione is to him, when he sent letters after the dementors attacked Little Whinging; he sent Hermione her letter after Ron and Sirius...it seems so odd that she's slowly becoming the next most signifigant person in the books (other than Harry) and he still writes to her last...STILL HARRY WAS LISTENING! Cause he remembered what Hermione said...This shows Hermione does affect Hermione a lot, more than Rowling's let on yet...and that "he definitly needs her" even if it's not brought to surface just yet...OoTP pg 225)
My quotes today are either severly over-used or completly un-heard of for the most part...
35. Ron rose halfway out of his chair, hovered uncertainly for a moment or two, then muttered to Harry, ‘She’s got it under control,’ before sinking as low in his chair as his lanky frame permitted.” (This further shows, that Hermione and Ron aren't equal partners...he doesn't want to stand up to Hermione at all, Harry and Hermione are always challenging each other's choices so that they make the right ones...OoTP pg 229)
36. "Don’t ask,’ Harry muttered to Cho as she opened her mouth, looking puzzled. She giggled.
‘Hey, Harry,’ Hermione called from the other end of the room, ‘have you checked the time?" (Gee, cause you aren't watching or interrupting him or anything? OoTP pg 350)
37."If you're going that means I can go without being rude too, I’m absolutely exhausted and I want to make some more hats tomorrow." (Minus, the whole knitting thing which is cute in itself, Hermione's asleep on the couch, and Harry wakes her up to tell her about Umbridge...she's there waiting for THEM right? But if she's waiting for them, why is it,
Harry's here, I can go to sleep now! I'm tired; Hell with the red head! OoTP pg 278)
38. "I know you’re in there,’ said Hermione’s voice. ‘Will you please come out? I want to talk to you.’
‘What are you doing here?’ Harry asked her, pulling open the door."(Seee...awww, Hermione's the one who gets him out, I know this quote is over-used, but still, for everyone who says that Ron is Harry's best friend...it wasn't Ron who got him out now was it?? There's IT FOR THE THING HARRY WOULD MOST SORELY MISSS! OoTP pg 440)
Well, hope these helped, we only need 12 more quotes!! YAY!!!

OOOOOOOk...I was sitting in chemistry, and suddenly deicded that I should've looked for more quotes...I went back to the early novels so there's not really a lot of shippy/shippy stuff, but still, the stuff is great foundation and it's good!
40. “Harry grabbed his broom.
‘No!’ shouted Hermione Granger. ‘Madam Hooch told us not to move – you’ll get us all into trouble.’
Harry ignored her. Blood was pounding in his ears.” (sorry, I just love how immediatly she just sits herself in and takes control of Harry when he's at his worst (or best considering he is flying. SS 148 She insituates herself as someone who's not afraid to stand up to him early!)
41. "Harry couldn’t believe anyone could be so interfering." (see, she's special already...

SS 155)
42. "And together they walked back through the gateway to the Muggle world.” (Ok...it's not really shippy, it's just incredibly cute, but it shows that after everything they went through that year, Harry and hermione were still best friends

CoS pg 341)
43. “They passed different groups of people hurrying in different directions. As they jostled their way through a crowd of confused Hufflepuffs, Harry suddenly grabbed Ron’s arm.
‘I’ve just thought – Hermione.’
‘What about her?’
‘She doesn’t know about the troll.’
Ron bit his lip.
‘Oh, all right,’ he snapped. ‘But Percy’d better not see us.’” (Ok...yea, this sealed the deal ship wise for me, See how Harry remembers her? And Ron's not panicked, he's a bit annoyed, I know you can argue, well he doesn't like her yet, but that's not exactly how I'd set up my two main characters who were going to eventually fall in love...no mine would be something like, oh man we have to go find her now before the troll gets her...sound vaguely familiar? 173 SS)

44.)
"She's hurt!" Harry whispered, bending his head low over her. Hermione and Ron leaned in closer; Hermione even put down her quill." (OOTP, chapter 17, pg 356, American Version. Harry sees Hedwig outside the window in History of Magic) Awww...Hermione's scared for Hedwig!

May not be hugely shippy, but Ron wasn't dropping anything!
All for now, I gotta get off

"Grawp's hand had shot out of nowhere toward Hermione - Harry seized her and pulled her back toward the tree, so that Grawp's fist scraped the trunk but closed on thin air." (OOTP, Chapter 30, Am. Version) Nuff said

And (since they go hand in hand)

100 days left until HBP...MAN, WE'VE USED UP NEARLY ALL H/Hr quotes...**shall resume reading through the lines**
Let's finish the 50 quotes tonight!
47. “Harry dreamed he was back in the DA room. Cho was accusing him of luring her there under false pretences; she said he had promised her a hundred and fifty Chocolate Frog Cards if she showed up. Harry protested … Cho shouted, ‘Cedric gave me loads of Chocolate Frog Cards, look!’ And she pulled out fistfuls of Cards from inside her robes and threw them into the air. Then she turned into Hermione, who said, ‘You did promise her, you know, Harry … I think you’d better give her something else instead … how about your Firebolt?" (Presto, what kind of person kisses the person they've had a crush on for 3 years and NOT HAVE A GOOD DREAM! (ok, forget the voldemort thing, the dream before the voldemort possession thing should be happy) but yet it's not, and on top of everything he's dreaming about another girl too...I wonder...OoTP pg 462)
48. “‘Yeah,’ said Ron, rubbing slightly bloodshot eyes and throwing his fifth spoiled bit of parchment into the fire beside them. ‘Listen … shall we just ask Hermione if we can have a look at what she’s done?’
Harry glanced over at her; she was sitting with Crookshanks on her lap and chatting merrily to Ginny as a pair of knitting needles flashed in midair in front of her, now knitting a pair of shapeless elf socks.
‘No,’ he said heavily, ‘you know she won’t let us.’” (Thus proof Harry respects her, and that he knows her well enough not to interfere when she makes up her mind, Ron's thinking of juust what he can get out of Hermione, hence answers to homework, Harry sees Hermione as much more than that... and still the image of chatting happily is flattering for Hermione...OoTP pg 295)
49. “‘How’s Ron?’ said Harry and Hermione together.
‘He’ll live,’ said Madam Pomfrey grimly. ‘As for you two … you’ll be staying here until I’m satisfied you’re – Potter, what do you think you’re doing?’
Harry was sitting up, putting his glasses back on and picking up his wand.
‘I need to see the Headmaster,’ he said.
‘Potter,’ said Madam Pomfrey soothingly, ‘it’s all right. They’ve got Black. He’s locked away upstairs. The Dementors will be performing the Kiss any moment now –’
‘WHAT?’
Harry jumped up out of bed; Hermione had done the same.”(Notice how in OoTP they say and do a lot of things at the same time without meaning too, it's slowly been happening more and more in the books...another just happens to be coincidence?? PoA pg 388-389)
50. "We’ve got to ignore him, Harry. Here, hold the Bowtruckle for a moment, just so I can draw its face …When the bell echoed distantly over the grounds, Harry rolled up his blood-stained Bowtruckle picture and marched off to Herbology with his hand wrapped in Hermione’s handkerchief, and Malfoy’s derisive laughter still ringing in his ears.” (Sorry, don't have a big gustro for the last quote, but I always found the ideas of the hanckerchief cute, and how she needs Harry to help her, it's not really slam face they're meant for each other, but H/Hr have so many cute moments that they can't just mean nothing! pg 260-261 OoTP)

Question, what're you going to do with the quotes now that you're done, I know you said you wanted canon proof, but are you just gunna' mail them all to the sugar quill and wait for them to float? Hmm...just curious...

Hey! Thanks so much for all your work, DrangonCateliz

You're the one who has done almost all the work.

I am planning to get more lines, you know. And then choose between them the best 50, then polish a little the list to make it easier to read and then maybe post it as a sort of essay. And of course you and those who have colabored most will receive proper credit. I will let you know once it's done. Meanwhile if someone finds more lines please post them.
I'll start the work this weekend hopefully.

sure i will post something...one of my favorite scenes
it from OotP: pg 62 (scholastic version)
Harry crossed the dingy landing, turned the bedroom doorknob which was shaped like a serpent's head, and opened the door.
He caught a brief glimpse of a gloomy high-ceilinged, twin-bedded room, then there was a loud twittering noise, followed by an even louder shriek, and his vision was completely obscured by alarge quantity of very bushy hair- Hermione had thrown herself onto him in a hug that nearly knocked him flat, while Ron's tiny owl, Pigwidgeon, zoomed excitedly round and round thier heads.

Half-Blood Prince, page 219
"I dunno why the team's this popular all of a sudden."
"Oh, come on Harry," said Hermione, suddenly impatient. "It's not Quidditch that's popular, it's you! You've never been more interesting, and frankly, you've never been more fanciable."
Ron gagged on a large piece of kipper. Hermione spared him one look of disdain before turning back to Harry.
I adore that moment. It's quite possibly my favorite. Like I say on my website, Hermione has never actually come right out and flirted with Harry, but she did here, in HBP.

LOVES IT!!! This is the best moment in HBP! theres also.... when Harry goes to comfort Hermione after Ron and Lavendar get together, Harry and Hermione have "cute" agrument (Does Madam Finch love Filch? I think they're serectly married) on the way back form the library

I'm afraid you'll have to settle for all of those in HBP, at least from me. I originally counted 24, but now I know that there are at least 33. Here they are:
1) When Harry and Dumbledore were en route to Horace Slughorn's place, Harry quoted Hermione's frequent reminder that Apparition and Disapparition are impossible inside the Hogwarts grounds. He'd not only finally learned that, but he gave Hermione credit too.
2) Slughorn remembered Lily's brilliance as one of his students and his amazement at learning that she'd been Muggle-born, as well as his frequent wish that she'd been in his House, Slytherin (parallelling Flitwick's own frequent wish that Hermione had been in his House, Ravenclaw). Harry, without naming Hermione, then referred to her, stating that she was not only Muggle-born but the best in their year.
3) A few moments later, Harry reflected that Slughorn "seemed...whatever he said to the contrary, much too surprised that a Muggle-born should make a good witch." Clearly, Harry saw this as a slur on Hermione.
4) When Harry told Ron and Hermione about the prophecy, Hermione said she and Ron had guessed at its content, then she asked Harry, "Are you scared?" But she was, once again, more scared for Harry than he was for himself -- and visibly so.
5) Hermione rejoiced in the news that Harry had been appointed Gryffindor Quidditch Captain: "That gives you equal status with prefects!" You remember how crestfallen she was in Book Five upon learning that Ron, not Harry, had been appointed her co-prefect.
6) At Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Hermione looked pointedly at Harry when saying that the Patented Daydream Charms "really [are] extraordinary magic!" Perhaps she was imagining herself and Harry as the two kids on the pirate ship which served as the illustration on the carton? Also, she wasn't scandalized by the charms, as she would have been a year earlier.
7) In their first Potions class with Slughorn, that gentleman, admiring Hermione's knowledge of potions and then learning that she was Muggle-born, "beamed and then looked from Hermione to Harry, who was sitting next to her." He realized that this was the friend of whom Harry had told him; but more to the point, it appears that he saw a second James and Lily in the pair, or at least a good match in the present. Hermione was then "radiant" in the knowledge that Harry had thus praised her. (Ron claimed, rather grumpily, "...I'd've told him so if he'd asked me!" But would he have?)
8) In their first DADA class with Snape, Harry was bitter about Snape ignoring the way Hermione had repelled Neville's Jelly-Legs Jinx. He reflected that her effort "would surely have earned her 20 points for Gryffindor from any reasonable teacher."
9) After that same class, when Harry ranted about Snape's rhapsodizing over the Dark Arts, Hermione told Harry that it reminded her of his own statement about what it was like to face Voldemort: that it "really came down to being brave and quick-thinking." We then learned that "Harry was so disarmed that she had thought his words as well worth memorizing as THE STANDARD BOOK OF SPELLS that he did not argue."
10) When Hermione answered Harry's question about why so many people wanted to try out for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, she told him that he'd "never been more fanciable" (Ron literally choked on this statement, causing Hermione to shoot him a dirty look) now that everyone knew he'd told the truth about Voldemort, and had been persecuted by the Ministry for telling the truth (when she mentioned the "I must not tell lies" scars on Harry's hand, Ron unsuccessfully tried to show her his brain-tentacle scars). It's not clear that she was saying this just as a friend or even just as an observer -- especially when she concluded by noting that he'd grown about a foot! (Ron pointed out, "inconsequentially," that he himself was already tall.)
11) Hermione Confunded Cormac McLaggen out of the Quidditch tryouts, knowing that as a loose cannon he was dangerous to his prospective teammates, including Harry.
12) Later, Hermione pleaded with Harry to accompany her to the Slug Club party, fearing to be alone there with McLaggen and face his wrath alone. (The detention Snape gave Harry got in the way: we didn't see who Hermione ended up going with, if she went at all.)
13) After Harry talked his way out of another party invitation from Slughorn, Hermione was somewhat disapproving: "They're not THAT bad, you know...they're even quite fun sometimes..." Then she had to change the subject because Ron was looking at her rather funny.
14) Hermione talked Harry out of attacking Mundungus Fletcher at the Three Broomsticks for burglarizing 12 Grimmauld Place (now Harry's property, since Sirius had bequeathed it to him), but she empathized with his anger over the burglary, much as she had with his Book Five anger over being kept in the dark all summer.
15) After Katie Bell was jinxed by the opal necklace, Hermione suggested to Harry that the necklace might have been intended for him.
16) After Hermione left the Gryffindor Quidditch victory party in a huff (having seen Ron and Lavender snogging so intensely there), Harry found her in an empty classroom being circled by a flock of canaries "which she had clearly just conjured out of midair. Harry could not help admiring her spellwork at a time like this."
17) When a later Slug Club party came up (the Christmas party), Hermione warned Harry about the other girls plotting to slip him love potions, and advised him to pick a "date" for the party so as to discourage them (he picked Luna).
18) When Hermione announced that she would attend that same party with McLaggen, Parvati observed, "Wow, you like your Quidditch players, don't you? First Krum, then McLaggen..." Hermione interrupted her with: "I like REALLY GOOD Quidditch players." Was she hinting that Harry was the best one she knew?
19) After Harry told Hermione about his Christmas meeting with Rufus Scrimgeour, Hermione "thought that after all the Ministry had put Harry through the previous year, they had a great nerve asking him for help now."
20) Harry's curiosity about Ginny and Dean's quarrel piqued Hermione's own curiosity: he claimed concern about his Quidditch team being "messed up again," but she wasn't quite convinced. (I can't help tying this in with Ginny's statement near the end: "I never gave up on you. Not really. I always hoped...Hermione told me to get on with life, maybe go out with some other people, relax a bit around you, because I never used to be able to talk if you were in the room, remember? And she thought you might take a bit more notice if I was more -- myself?").
21) When Harry thought a potion or a spell might persuade Slughorn to divulge his memory about Voldemort, Hermione said, "Only you can get the memory, Dumbledore says. That must mean you can persuade Slughorn where other people can't."
22) When Kreacher rewarded Hermione's undeserved praise of his detective work in tailing Draco (most of which Dobby had actually done) by insulting her ("The Mudblood is speaking to Kreacher, Kreacher will pretend he cannot hear"), Harry angrily dismissed him.
23) In DADA class, when Snape belittled Ron's Apparition ability, Hermione stopped Harry from retorting: "NO! There's no point, you'll just end up in detention again, leave it!"
24) When Ginny and Dean broke up, Hermione observed that this put Harry "in a bit of a fix," and claimed she was referring to the Quidditch team. But perhaps she was being supportive of his feelings for Ginny, as she was in Cho's case (and just in passing, Lavender acted much the same way about Hermione as Cho had in Book Five). From Ginny's aforementioned confession, too, it would appear that Hermione was actually playing matchmaker for her and Harry!
25) Ironically, though, when Harry later had difficulty getting private time with Ginny, he thought he caught a smug expression on Hermione's face whenever she spotted him staring at Ginny, or laughing at her jokes. What was up with that? Was Hermione jealous?
26) When Hermione wanted to talk to Harry about Eileen Prince having been the Half-Blood Prince, he reflected that "Only the previous day, Hermione had told him off for distracting Ginny when she ought to be working hard for her examinations." Was she that concerned about Ginny's exam performance, or was something else happening there?
27) A few moments later, when Hermione accused Harry of not thinking a girl would be clever enough to be the Half-Blood Prince, Harry countered, "How can I have hung round with you for five years and not think girls are clever?" It seems that, stung as he was by this unjust accusation, he couldn't help praising her a little. (Technically, he'd hung around with her for SIX years by then, so that remark is a blooper.)
28) When Harry told Ron and Hermione that he was going off to the cave with Dumbledore and that Snape and Draco therefore had to be watched, Hermione let out "gasps of horror," and her eyes became "huge with fear."
29) A moment later, when Harry gave the Felix Felicis to Ron and Hermione, Hermione suggested that he needed it more: "No! We don't want it, you take it, who knows what you're going to be facing?"
30) After Dumbledore's death, when Harry arrived in the hospital wing, Hermione ran to him and hugged him.
31) When Harry agonized over not having alerted Dumbledore about the Potions book, Hermione told him he was blaming himself too much for Dumbledore's death.
32) When Harry broke up with Ginny, Ginny recounted the advice Hermione had given her about attracting Harry; Harry then praised Hermione's intelligence.
33) When Harry announced his non-intention of returning to Hogwarts, Hermione said she'd expected it. Then she joined with Ron in saying that the two would go with Harry wherever he went. She'd give up her N.E.W.T. year for Harry?
And there you have them: at least 33 reasons why H/H did NOT die in HBP! Somehow, though, I have a feeling someone has found more...

Yes, I've found a couple more, but I'm saving those for later. Watch how others react to Hermione and Harry. Still, that was the best summary I've seen yet.
It's interesting that Hermione could actually be accused of sabotaging Harry's relationships with other girls; there's just enough evidence to suspect it. Mind you, Harry keeps slapping Hermione in the face with "I'm off to die again, keep safe." You've got to wonder whether or not Hermione is defending herself from being with Harry, or simply eliminating competition, because she feels that Harry would choose them over her.

I've always seen this as a subtle hint for H/Hr or basically a jibe at Ron (or both!)
I've never seen it as a hint towards Ron however.

welcome...to Portkey..

I know you will love this ship..and yes they are meant to be.. together as "Lover" or whatever...H/hr4everbaby!!
There are alot of H/hr "moment" which I can't post at this moment...but I do recommand re-reading Ootp..or PoA or watching Dvds.

here is one of my favorite of "H/hr moment"
from book 1 and movie:
"You are great Wizard you really are" (Hermioneto Harry)
"not as good as You" (Harry answer to Hermione)
"Me! books and cleverness, there are more important thing, Bravely-friendship..and oh Harry?..BE CAREFULL"
Hermione doesn't even know Harry that well.
from book 1 and 2 and movie:
"Hermone!! she doesnt know!" (Harry yelling at Ron when they heard about Troll in castle) which ron insulted her and make her cry.. after this troll come about..and Harry is one who notice she was not at Great hall and he run and resuse her..and not Ron. What kind of guy who is "crush on some girl" make that girl "cry" with no certain reason..what so ever.
Mrs. Rowliing said R/hr is "Canon"

My favourite H/Hr scene remains the "Great Wizard" one from PS/SS, almost at the end, when Hermione tells Harry how great he is, tells him to be careful....I dont know, it just seems so perfect to me...*sigh*

My favourite H/Hr moment is from POA.
"Hermione bit her lip, looking extremely worried.
'Are you going to report me?' Harry asked her, grinning.
'Oh - of course not - but honestly, Harry -'"
Harry flirts and Hermione stutters completely undone. That scene never fails to bring a smile to my face!

Don't forget the one where Harry has just arrived at the Burrow and Dumbledore's gone away, then Mrs Weasley tells him that Ron and Hermione will want to talk to him in the morning: "Hermione's here?" says Harry. He seems so excited that she's there and he'll get to see her.
That makes at least 34 instances - the first part of HBP was HUGE for H/Hr - I can't believe it was all a smoke screen and I'm sure Jo will have an explanation in Book 7.

This is perhaps my favorite in HBP. Sure he expected Ron at the Burrow, but it seems like icing on the cake that Hermione is there. hahaha
Anyone else notice that OUR moments with Harry and Hermione are always found in passages where one is protecting the other, or sharing something personal?
While the
Ship-That-Must-Not-Be- Named (R/hr) their "moments" are always when Ron and Hermione are fighting with one another? Or when Ron is the only one showing jealousy?
Lets see: caring and personal feelings vs. fighting and one-sided envy?
Now, who is supposed to be delusional?!?!
I'll stick with our moments. Gimme pie. Blake_Burna is BAAACK!!!

I become more and more surprised at all that I missed in my two read-throughs of HBP before I lent it to another person!! I think this means JKR pays more attention to the 'net than she lets on.
My personal favorites were the flirting that went on, the "Oh, Honestly, harry!" Hermione, i've noticed, says Harry's name an awful lot, almost like she can't get him off her mind, or she can't say it enough, etc.

Wow you people are so kind. Hey I agree with what you all are saying. Ron and Hermione as a couple is bad. Through out the whole series they are only friends reall, because of Harry. Also think about it Rowling may want us to think it will be R/HR but then a twist and H/HR!

All the H/HR moments are subtle so it will make you think. Thanks again.
