I've brought this up with my close H/HR friends, but I'd like to see what you all think of it.

Have you ever noticed the similarity between Harry & Hermione and Percy & Penelope's names?

Percy and Penelope start with the same letter - P. So do Harry and Hermione -only with H.
Percy has 2 syllables and ends with Y. So does Harry.
Penelope has 3 syllables and ends with an phonetic E. So does Hermione.

This is just a fun little observation. It probably doesn't mean anything, but it's funny to think about "foreshadowing", heehee.

if percy and penelope end up together, i'm going to remember this thread.

Whoa...the freaky similarities there are! I haven't heard much of Penelope since Book III...I sure hope that both of them are still together if this is in any way a form of foreshadowing

I think we're reading into this a bit too much, but still, they are odd similarities....

I kinda made a observation of my own, as silly as it is. Well, I don't know when I thought of this but there names said in a short little sentence makes a cute little poem sorta thing.

I'm quite amazed at how everyone here seems to notice the smallest details! I LOVE IT! I mean I haven't in my wildest dreams thought of that connection. And afetr reading it I'm like: Damn! That's one hell of a discovery!

I am going to spread this around to all of my friends... I mean, most would not really give this a second thought, but my R/Hr are all standing on shaky grounds right now and I would just love to see the look on their face once I tell them about this! I'm going to say that this is one of the many too-subtle hints that they fail to see! LOL...

Me being obsessed with the Fan fics by Mena Baines, that kind of scares me. See, in 'Hermione's Holiday Part 2' Penny and Percy are supposed to be getting married. But an hour before their wedding, Hermione figures out Penny has been cheating on Percy with George all along and doesn't even love Percy, but doesn't have the heart to tell him...

Actually, I can't imagine who would ever cheat on Percy-poo. I lurv him to death. He's my fav Weasley.

Yup...that's cool....vanillapuff also pointed out all these things between Percy and Penelope and Harry and Hermione (you already said the same letters for both couples) one:

Percy and Harry end with the same letter.

yeh..but Percy turn out to be Tracer and betrayed Harry...in Ootp. So i don't think..you should connect Percy and what her named..to Harry/Hermione. I don't think...that is cute at all. Sorry..being unhappy camper here.

Yeah, Percy was a git, but the similarities between Harry/Hermione and Percy/Penelope do speak well for our ship.

Yeah, he did turn into a prick, but like I said before, that link might mean that JKR has a tendancy to pair people with similar names and the like. Either way, I really, trully doubt that she would turn Harry into that pompous a jackass by book 7. It hasn't shown any signs of happening yet, right?

Yeah, I wonder if they are...she wasn't mentioned in Book 4 either. Of course the whole point is that their names are almost the same...not that THEY are the same.

Percy is a loser...he really infuriated me in this book. So...so...so...I can't even describe it...annoying? Loser-like? Snobbish? Stupid?

I also hate percy. but like you all said, it doesn't mean that Harry will turn out to be Percy-ish.

Tell me what you think about the first part, when percy is abscent because the basilisc attacked penelope and harry is abscent because the basilisc atacked Hermione...

I didn't mind him getting mad at 'Mione a little bit...'cause it was funny to hear all the R/Hr shippers say how 'Harry and Hermione fight too much'. I was just like '*cough* I thought fighting showed sexual tension *cough*.' Lol...he was kinda mean to her...argh, am I the only one who wished he had talked to Hermione after everyone else left after Ron was made a prefect. I was thinking, "Yes, major H/Hr scene!" but he just kinda works it out by himself...made me feel disappointed.

I got annoyed w/ harry in book five. -dodges tomatoes- I'm sorry but come on, it's called ANGER MANAGEMENT here people. I think with all that Harry had been through he had all the right to bash Dumbledore's office... besides he felt all betrayed... the people that he thought would be there for him or would answer his questions were way out of sight. Now... tell me if you wouldn't be pissed of not to mention the fact that an evil wizard who had been after his throat since he was a baby just killed the most important person in his life....(Sirius)... I was surprised he didn't kill Voldemort himself.. Actually the fact that he's gworing up an all horminal finally gave him a vent to let his anger out.... I don't approve of how he acted towards people but that's the only way he knew how.....he didn't grow up in a nice loving environment as everyone else had... He's almost like Tom growing up and hating the place he lived in... only in Harry's case when given the right reasoning he softened a bit and got back to his senses. I admire Hermione in Book Five. like most of you said.... among everyone Harry was wide she's pretty much the one with the clear head. and I find Luna rather lucky among all of them.... she hardly got a scratch... well, yah she did get hurt.... Anyway.... I think if indeed Harry would try to move away from ron and Hermione.... I think they would still be by his side no matter what...
