1. Ron/Hermione is the most sibling like relationship (the petty squabbling, huffy silences, distrust of others love interest who they don't think are right for them Hermione has no objection to Luna) of the three followed by Ron/Harry and the Harry/Hermione.
2. Mrs Weasley practically adopts harry. The hug in the 4th year and sirius's "he's not your son in the 5th) amongst others. 3. Apart from the eyes ginny is a replica of lily. In fact if you cross DNA and personalities between James and Lily Ginny could very well be their daughter. In fact James, Harry and Ginny are all quidditch playing, hotheaded, gryffindors, who curse people at random. Hmmm. |

for me it was the epilogue that was the hardest because well...its full of crap.It was like reading a fanfic that jk bothered to write in her free time...but i guess we can ignore it forever.

I believe the biggest disappointments were the "could-have-beens" or more precise, "should-have-beens".
Several questions "should have been" answered, but were not. The answers we did receive "could have been" better. Why did we never find out why Harry having Lily's eyes was important? Who else thought Harry's mercy on Peter Pettigrew would have had a greater impact on the plot other than just getting Harry out of a fight with him? Why was Harry's defeat of Voldemort dependent on a new plotline about wandlore introduced a mere couple of chapters previous rather than the culmination of all of Harry's experiences, magical learning, and relationships with others throughout the series? (Expelliarmus, again?! I thought we were reading Deathly Hallows, not Goblet of Fire) Power? Harry achieves mastery over death where others have failed because of his power to love. He is granted a great gift with great responsibility and a chance to show everyone why he was a match for Voldemort, but discards this monumental opportunity to change the world for the good of all simply because he was tired of trouble following him. "There will come a time, Harry, when we must choose between what is right, and what is easy...oh never mind. What is the state of the Wizarding World compared to your general comfort, Harry? I'm so proud of you!..." Love? "...we must choose between what is right, and ...." *sigh* Although I don't support H/G, their relationship "could have been" much deeper than just snogging in dark corners, and if Mrs. Rowling really wanted to sell that to us, it "should have been". The same goes for R/Hr. If the author really wanted us to buy that they were soulmates, she should have shown improvement in their relationship, not deterioration. Meanwhile, H/Hr flirt, share genuine romantic moments, and become closer than ever until they are gagged and beaten with the sibling stick the second they get too close to thinking about each other in that way. There's several other aspects, but special mention must be made for Snape. Yay, we were right about him being good all along. Joy. But before he can come out of the closet and show his true colors, he's summarily slaughtered in secret simply because Voldemort figures he's a technicality in the way of achieving the Elder Wand's true potential. It makes it even more lame when it turns out Snape had no connection with the wand at all, making his death in that scene utterly pointless. Such a waste of literary potential for that character. Not to say the book had no shining moments, far from it, but I feel these disappointments could have been remedied very easily. It's tough when you realize many of the fanfic writers you've been following could have made the book exponentially more enthralling than the author whose work you've admired for so long. I absolutely hated the H/G kiss. Don't ask me why, i should have voted for the crappy epilogue. But seriously, when i was reading the H/G kiss, I kept shooting uneasy glances everywhere. And I kept muttering 'let it end now, let it end now, please, let it end now' to myself. Seriously.
Also, I hated the part where Hermione's being tortured and Ron, being the irrational prat he is (no offense to Ron!), almost lost his mind while Harry kept a cool aura. If you ask me, Harry got a little too...cool in that scene. I wanted to see the same reaction he got at Ootp when Hermione lost consciousness at the Department of Mysteries! |

I hated the fact that H/Hr friendship was completely destroyed. I refuse to believe Harry and Hermione went days without talking to each other. Worst sentence of the book. It really made me sick.

'Hermione and Harry's lack of communication and "need" of Ron'
That was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of character. I mean Ron and Hermione only started being friends because of Harry and throughout the series there were many times were Harry & Hermione worked perfectly fine together without Ron. That was as forced as Harry/Ginny in HBP |

Everything from the first chapter to the crapilogue that had the idiot, the bicycle, or molly in it.
All that was disappointing to me. |
