Status report here as of Oct 30 2009 Following list last edited in July 2009 Hi all, our fanart team have been working on the following issues about our fanart gallery. If you've observed an error or activity that's NOT YET listed in here, then please report it in this other thread. 1. The Comments: # statistics are higher than the total of comments actually posted. Say a gallery entry shows Comments: 5, but you can only see 3 comments posted. 2. Sometimes when posting a comment, that same review shows up multiple times in the comments page. 3. There currently's no "artist profile" page or link to show all the approved fanart made by the same artist. 4. Some fanart seems to have gone missing, ie, they couldn't be viewed in the gallery. 5. The FAQs make a confusing read! EDITED Feb 2009 TO ADD #6: 6. "File type is not correct" error prevents members from uploading artwork, whether their own or by others whom they'd like to recommend. STATUS: Issues 1, 2, 3: Fanart coder Curt/Excalibur has identified their causes and thinks the best way to fix them is to install a newer code for the gallery. He would like to install a newer version but his busy RL doesn't permit him to do so anytime soon, so no promises here. Issue 4: Curt and NAPPA had been investigating this. NAPPA assures us we've got backups, at any rate. Issue 5: Yep, we know that but unfortunately we've been too busy with RL and other modding duties. YOU could help by drafting edited FAQs on any aspect of our fanart gallery. Issue 6: I know Curt's been aware of this issue for years now. I haven't asked him about it specifically, but I suppose it would be fixed in the gallery code's newer version. UPDATE JUL 9 2009: Read this. .

Per Mirtilla's suggestion in view of our technical issues with the gallery, we're allowing registered Portkey artists to "recommend" their artwork instead of uploading them. That is, we suggest that they upload their work on their own site then enter its URL in the gallery's "Add New Recs" page. Artists may put this in their rec page's description field: "Recommending" my own work as a quick fix until the Gallery issues get debugged. This way, others would understand why you're making self-recs.
